I had an amazing experience using Melissa for photos of my newborn this past May. She really is a baby whisperer! She was so easy to communicate with both leading up to and during the session, and she put my anxiety about getting out of the house as a first time mom with a newborn at ease. Even when the diaper bag got forgotten, Melissa had us covered! Diapers, wipes and pacifier! Snacks and drinks for mom and dad! Melissa is amazing at her craft and worth every dollar.. Most people don't realize all that it entails to photograph newborns and she is amazing at what she does, patient, kind and gentle. I felt completely at ease allowing her to take over to get our little girl to sleep, tweak her poses and dress her. Our baby was fussy in the beginning and she never once made us feel rushed. I loved all of the headpieces, backgrounds, wraps and props she chose before our session, she took great interest in finding out colors and things I like/dislike before our session. My husband and I put off starting a family for so many years due to me wanting to complete my goal of getting nursing license. I am a first time mom to a wonderful and very curious little girl. I had so many plans for my labor and was looking forward to being able to stick with my goals. I wanted to have a natural child birth, I wanted to work my entire pregnancy, I wanted a healthy baby. Out of everything I wanted I got to work up until 3 days before my due date because I developed pre-eclampsia and to top it off COVID again. My labor story was filled with issue after issue but in the end I got my healthy baby girl. A couple months prior to having our wonderful little baby, my husband had come home from work with a business card for a photographer. I had asked who gave it to him and he had states "a guy doing work at my job has a wife who does newborn photos". As I stated before I am a first time mom. There are many things I wanted and newborn photos were top on that list. To get able to capture those first moments of life were so important to me. I looked at Melissa's website and after seeing her work I was amazed and told my husband "yupp she's doing our photos". I reached out and started the process, which was super easy. She asked if I had any ideas of photos I would like to do and I let her know I trust her and her experience to make my photos perfect and I'm glad I did. My photos came out amazing. Prior to my baby being born Melissa would check in and see if I had given birth yet so we could schedule a date. Getting these photos done as soon as possible I believe is completely important because a newborn is so easy to get into poses better, if they do these photos before 2 weeks of age. We had our photos hoot scheduled for 9 days after birth. Melissa greated us at her door, made us feel more than welcomed and asked us a little about our selves. She was amazing with our daughter and super patient due to our baby not sleeping the night before or wanting to sleep during the shoot. First, I never write reviews but this experience was so amazing i had to share. I have 3 kids ages 8, 6 and 2 we have been wanting family photos for years but i was either pregnant or still trying to lose the baby weight. I finally said enough is enough and i searched for a local photographer i came across Melissa. She is an amazing photographer and very patient, caring individual. I told her the look of my house and i was looking for a barn to take photos in front of. One week later she finds this amazing location in Murrieta with an amazing barn, it was exactly what i pictured in my head. We had the photoshoot i was so worried we didn't get any good pictures because half way threw my 2 year old had a break down my dogs were trying to chase a squirrel and i was freaking out. She reassured me we had taking a ton of good photos. The revival session was amazing she had all the good photos set up to music on a side show both my husband and i cried like babies. The pictures were amazing the hardest part was narrowing down the photos because they were all wonderful. Melissa has captured so many lovely moments for our family and her art is placed throughout our home which causes me to pause daily and stare at my children as newborns while the real version gets ready for preschool or screams past me as a dinosaur chases them.
