Had a nice Greek salad with yummy pita bread. Extensive menu. But get there before 2 as it's breakfast and lunch.

It located across from the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds on W. Lotus Street. They have a mixed menu of American and Thai dishes they offer. The Gypsy Highway's vibe is a cross between nostalgic late 70's, early 80's biker bar, live indoor/outdoor music venue, while being a full service restaurant and bar. They also have a small arcade in the back a few what look to be video poker or slot machines by the bar, 3 very large LED displays strategically placed around the bar and a massive projection screen TV on the indoor stage when nobody's playing. Sorry I didn't get to look outside at the wood fenced in area, where the wooden outdoor stage is. There is lots of seating and they even have dance nights, local bands perform regularly, and other events. Like when I went there was Trivia Night. This place has been a long time local scene in the West End of Davenport, IA for decades. Couple of the downsides about the atmosphere is the noise. It's Loud. For off hours and a Trivia Night, but not loud enough that you can't hear the person talking across a large round table ment for a party of 8-10 people. The amount of flashing lights in the place. If you have any issues with flashing lights you might not want to visit. There is not a single sight line place inside that does have some sort of constantly flashing light. Even lights that would have been of at any other venue or palace that host bands at their establishments wouldn't run strong stage color ambient lights on, especially those sitting behind a massive screen. Anyone sitting in the back and looking towards the stage (even though those seats not that many but unlucky) are in for a painful night out, if not there for a band. The food is 50/50 depending on what you get. Presentation wise I would give it 80 to 100%. I was with my family and got to try 4/5 dishes. They I had the Yellow Curry w/ Shrimp. I have to say it was really good. It was sweet and savory the Jasmine rice was delicious with it. My only complaint with the dish was it should have been served in served in a bowl of some kind and w/ some Naan bread to help clean the bowl at the end. Serving on a plate made the dish hard to eat. Next up Chicken Tinders and an order of Onion Rings. This should be avoided at all costs!! They look great, but have absolutely zero flavor and taste. That's hard to do when the batter is supposed to be Bear Batter. Same with the french fries. Next is a Cheese Burger w/ (+) Bacon and Onion Rings instead of the Fries. Well the burger was well made and delicious. The Bacon was thick crisp and 4 slices which was good. The replaced Onion Rings well that part gets worse. The count was a measly 5 and not even large ones at that! Last one I got to try was the blackens grilled fish. It was a fillet of haddock covered with some sort of white gravy served with a few pieces of zucchini and a couple of red potatoes halved. I didn't get to try the veg. The fish I did. By itself it was pretty good, but with the gravy it was not noticeably, not as good to almost being tasteless. The gravy overwhelms the fish and doesn't complement, nor enhance the flavor. The waitress we had was nice and answered our questions promptly. She did check in with us from time to time. Overall she gets a 9/10. Hope y'all like my review and read next time. Sorry no pics this time forgot my phone.

The buffet was also a limited number of items. They were a few minutes late starting it after they opened and everything on it was basically cold. I'll give them barely warm, but that's a far as I will go. I thought maybe the idea was to let the warmers under the pans warm the food to a more edible temp but no that didn't work either. We were there over half an hour and I got another plate just to try a small sampling and nope, the food was no warmer than it first was. One other note anything to drink is NOT included in the buffet price. Expect to pay $2.99 for an iced tea or whatever. I guess in a way it didn't matter because the food served really wouldn't have been any better if it was warmer‍Not in my opinion. Slices of French Toast and mostly cut into 1/4 strips, cold and dried out. Warmed syrup (a plus) no butter to be found, you have to ask for it. Some sort of funky tasting seasoned potatoes. Neither my wife or I cared for the flavor. The biscuits weren't too bad. Some sort of milk gravy with cut up sausage links thrown into it. I say that because it doesn't appear that the gravy is made "from" the sausage as the gravy itself has no flavor, just bland. The sausage patties had an odd flavor. The sausage links were not bad. There was some bacon but we didn't try it. That's about all the buffet is, saw some cut up fruit off to the side. We decided to give it one more try for lunch. Thought it was somewhat unusual for a Saturday that we were the only two people there at 11:30 - 12:30. It still took half an hour to get our food! And ours were not difficult selections. The roast beef for the dip sandwich was well seasoned, I'll give them that. The curly fries though, those were a fail. Mostly over-fried, too hard. I will give them some credit for opening another choice for food selection here because Keller's Express is the only thing they've had for several years now for breakfast or lunch during the day. Unfortunately, this isn't much to solve that problem. It's nothing even close to 22 & Vine at Riverside Casino. Not to me it isn't. I wish the would bring back the full buffet for during the day that they once had. Or just open Keller's full restaurant for during the day.

We stopped in to Granite City as it is right next to our hotel. Easy…read more. A hostess will seat you. No greeting arriving (or departing,) other than "just two?". She was efficient and smiled. Our waitress came over in good time and took a drink order which showed up in very good time. I also asked a menu question which she got the answer to right away. As another reviewer stated it is *cold* in there! I keep a sweater in my bag for this purpose but still, I was cold. 86 outside, 66 inside (at a guess of course). They may keep the air cold to cool down that hot open kitchen. Bring a jacket or sweater. Our food came out in good time. Portions were generous. Plenty of cheese on my burger. I can understand how another reviewer mentioned the food is salty. The burger is mixed w/a GC spice blend that does seem heavy on the salt. At first it was fine, but I couldn't finish my burger. After a while the taste just stuck in my throat and was too much. May want to pull back a bit on the amount of spice blend being added. The crinkle fries were really good. Nice and crispy. My dining comlanion got the buffalo chicken wrap. Plenty of meat, spicy sauce and veg in this wrap. Trouble is the wrap barely holds the filling in and as the sauce makes the wrap wet, it inevitably fell apart. It is very tasty though, and he happily ate it with a knife and fork. Maybe a bigger wrap is available? 'Cause that portion size is excellent. Staff do seem to congregate in the kitchen area with the expediter. As the dining room got busier, we naturally saw less of our waitress but she did check in a few times and was sure to keep the water glass full and offer drink refills. The ladies room really needs a visual make over and deep clean. It does have a bit of a swampy smell. A machine by the sink, that I believe is a dehumidifier, had a light on it blinking "empty". So the tank was full of water? If it had been running, that may have helped with the smell but I don't know. It wasn't offensive, just a humid bathroom smell. The beer is good, as one would hope from a brewery. They have a selection from Irish Red to pilsners. The menu says to ask about sours. The interior is comfortable, casual with a mix of booths and tables. A couple of the booth seats are in serious disrepair (torn/split material exposing the foam cushion) and need to be fixed. A bar with high top tables is on the other side of the hostess stand keeping the areas seperate. A glass wall seperates you from both the brewing tanks on one wall and the kitchen on another wall. Restrooms by kitchen. Plenty of parking in their private lot. Those entry doors (two sets) are *heavy!

We sat inside at the high tables near the bar. I peaked at the back patio and lawn space which was amazing. I'll be back for that alone. The food we got was on point across the board. No one had anything left to take home which was because we got there starving and it was very good! My Mediterranean salad with chicken was solid, my son's Cesar salad was really good and my wife's southwestern salad with fried chicken was killer as well. My mother's avocado toast was on another level for such a dish. I was pleased to see a few solid branded house red and white wines at reasonable prices on the drink menu also. Endless beer options of course which the rest of the table took part in. A few fruited sour beer picks really pleased the table I recall. The only catch we did have was the wait from the time our drinks came until our orders got taken and then got served. A solid hour! Hard wait when you arrive hungry as is. Service was kind yet I admit that. Just slow on the food hitting the table. We will be back here again for sure and at just .6 miles walk from home, we could become regulars here easily.
