My go my coffee spot! Great flavored iced coffees. I learned that they roast the beans with the flavor so it's a sugar free, but flavorful, experience. The staff and managers are usually really nice and friendly. I only had one occasion where someone was a bit smug with me. The staff, aside from the owner, are teenagers that are very eager to please. This means that while there is good customer service, they tend to seem a good drink is extra full of syrup. I drove across the river to come to this place because I was disappointed to find that the highly rated coffee house closer to my home had limited hours, and I needed a place to come sit down for several hours and get my coursework for the week done. I am glad I came here--this place is really comfortable with soft leather seats as well as cafe style seating. Wifi is free, your barista will give you the password if you ask. Menu and prices are available at their website. I ordered simple drinks since I planned to be parked here for a while--the house drip coffee and some hot green tea with mint--they were pretty good and priced right. This place also has a drive through window. Decor is cute with framed photography of dogs. Service was polite and quick. I'll probably be here once a week from now until I'm done with my coursework. If I wanted a place to just hang out with my friends and have a chat over a cappuccino, this would be a great place for that also. read more

I drink a lot of tea and coffee. In the quad cities this is my favorite spot. I haven't hung out there so I can't tell you what the inside is like. They have a great assortment of beverages and the staff is always very nice. Plus they give my pooch a cookie every time I come by. When I don't have time to eat lunch, a barista hands me a meal replacement bar. Coffee Hound sustaineth me through nap time. It leadeth me to the Kingdom of the Second Wind. Coffee Hound was built on an ancient burial ground but used its incredible powers to exorcise the restless spirits, directing them to Paradise. I once saw a guy down an espresso, then deliver a baby in the parking lot. People who drink a caffe latte every day report that it reverses the effects of aging. In 1974, Freddie Mercury walked into Coffee Hound and ordered a Peanut Butter Cup Frappe. He later stated that this event inspired him to write "Bohemian Rhapsody." Also, something about dogs. I've been a frequenter of the Coffee Hound for the last few years. There are a few reasons I keep coming back: +Atmosphere. This is the Starbucks lounge without all the corporate attire. Good music, comfortable leather chairs, tables for the WiFi warriors (free WiFi btw), local artists' artwork on the walls, local business cards on one of the tables... it's all very tasteful and relaxing. +Friendly baristas. They keep good people on staff, and you can start a conversation with pretty much any of them. The owner is very nice and a pleasure to be around. +Good drinks. They're well known for their delicious (yet kinda pricey) Frappes. There's also the full selection of other caffeine-infused beverages, including a few different types of coffee, lattes with an assortment of flavors (some seasonal flavors as well, and the egg nog latte is not to be missed), an assortment of teas, chai, smoothies, toddy, mochas, espresso, cappuccino, and iced versions of pretty much everything for the hot summer months. In general, the quality of their drinks are good, especially the toddies and frappes. Coffee is decent, and cappuccinos are nothing to write home about, but it is pretty rare that you come across a coffee shop in the US that does justice to the italian drink anyway. +Local. You know your money is going to a business within the community and not some corporation in Seattle or New York. This may or may not be a big deal to you, but since the drinks are pretty much as good or better than the local corporate coffee shops, I prefer to put my dollar into the community. There are a few things I don't like, but it doesn't stop me from coming here: -prices. Coffee and Tea are comparable to any other establishment, but their specialty drinks are kinda expensive. -When it gets busy, it can take a long time to get your drink. This is because there is both a drive-up window and a coffee bar, and there's usually only one or two baristas working at one time. I can understand why they staff it this way as a small business with tight margins, but it would be great if they could get a steadier stream of customers at all times of day to justify having more baristas on hand. -location. It's fine for me, being that I live in Bettendorf, but I can't help thinking they might get more business somewhere in Davenport, perhaps on Utica Ridge or Kimberly. There's a small take-out-only satellite shop on Brady, but I would think that spot would be a better place for the full shop and Bettendorf better for the small pick-up window joint. Their current location is good for snagging the Scott Community College commuters, but Davenport gets more traffic and is closer to St. Ambrose University and Palmer college, with their caffeine-dependent student populations. read more

I'm so torn because I love the coffee & the aura of coffee hound. However, the past few times I've gone through the drive through, one of the younger employees has been so rude. She doesn't greet me or look me in the eye. She asks me how many shots I want in a latte, I say "whatever the normal is!" And she RUDELY says "it's either THREE, or FOUR." With an eye roll. How am I supposed to know that? She closed the window before I ordered my second drink. She was short & not friendly at all, and I came during perfectly normal hours. Then she proceeds to ASK if I want to add a tip. I have worked in food service & even a coffee shop before, so I understand the struggle. But I know she's making at least minimum wage. And if I wanted to give a tip, I would! I usually do. But not when I asked for it and certainly not when the employee is rude. It makes me not want to go back. Please have a talk with her as it is absolutely no way to interact with customers, especially nice and neutral patrons. read more

Excellent local coffee shop - cheerful and competent staff/barista, solid beverages from top to bottom, and a really nice space to sit and hang out. Good balance of tables, casual seating, and high top tables depending on what your preference is. Drive-up is quick and a little bit of outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. We stock the espresso machine at home with their espresso blend and it's consistently freshly roasted. read more

This is where it all started for me. My girlfriend would always get the dirty chai and eventually got me hooked. This changed my daily habits from energy drinks to coffee and I haven't looked back since. Coffee Hound has never disappointed with anything on their menu. The latest expansion including beer from Green Tree is a fantastic idea and fantastic choice in beer to serve. I often buy whole beans from here to home brew as well. In addition to this place having great coffee, great snacks and an overall quality product they just blew my mind with customer service. I just finished a run and do not have my wallet with me. All I have is a $50 bill. When I pull up to the window there is a sign that says "we do not except bills over $20". I asked them to make an exception, and while they stood firm with their policy, the female working the drive-through (wish I had caught her name) asked me for my order and gave me a coffee. She told me just to pay for it next time I came through. What a classy establishment! That type of service will keep me coming back forever. read more

This place is great. Good coffee, good service. They can whip up a good cup of hot cocoa for the kids too. They have some cookies and muffins that were fresh when we picked them up. Every time before I have gone here it has been pretty good, for some reason this time it was really off, I don't know if there was only two works this morning or if the workers were just tried, but I ordered two drinks. When they handed me the first drink they kept asking like I didn't ordered another one until they figured it out, I had to ask them many of times if I could get stoppers on them, and when I got them I asked for extra whip on each one and I got none, not a huge deal but I did pay for what I want and I didn't really get what I wanted, I hope next time it is alittle better read more

This is the place for coffee!! Don't bother going anywhere else..... They know what they are doing and it is perfection in a cup! Stopped in for the first time this AM and was amazed at the service, coffee and menu! Cannot wait to stop in on the way home from work and sample some of their adult offerings! That will happen soon!
