My daughter has been here a year and…read moreif it weren't for the steady improvement I see in her dancing and her awesome instructor, I would have withdrawn her a long time ago. From an administrative perspective this place is incredibly disorganized, the staff is misinformed and they do a poor job of communicating important pieces of information. They just had their spring performance at the Manassas Center for Performing Arts this past weekend and the experience was nothing short of infuriating. First, they wanted the kids there at 5:30 pm for a performance that starts at 7 pm. Ok, that's reasonable. When I checked my 11 year old in backstage, they told me I wasn't allowed to go any further, that made me incredibly uneasy but of course I complied. The performance was to start at 7 pm, and it did but prior to the performance (meaning the weeks and days ahead) we we're not given an idea of when the show would end. I'll just cut to the chase and tell you now, I did not have my daughter back until nearly 11 pm. When her performance was finished (she was in the 4th act), which was around 9:45 pm, I excused myself from the auditorium and went backstage to get her. I was told the kids would not be released until the end of the show and that all children 10 and up (this part is important) would be released into the lobby of the performing center on their own. That was an absolutely terrible idea.... So the show wrapped up about 10:30 pm. Someone from the school made an announcement on stage that all kids 8 and older would be released into the lobby on their own for parents to retrieve (more like search for frantically in a sea full of strangers). So while someone in the back was telling parents it was 10 and up, they just made an announcement to hundreds of people that it was actually 8 and up. Prime example of the kind of misinformation and lack of communication they demonstrate on a daily basis back at the school. Once I finally had my daughter back and after congratulating her on a job well done, I asked her about her experience backstage. No snacks or hydration provided (because the ADULTS backstage did not inform the children they were allowed to grab one from the table they set up) and when the children attempted to go to the bathroom they were told they could not and had to go back to the dressing room. So you put my kid in a room from 5:30 pm to 9:15 pm and tell her she can't go to the bathroom and don't bother to tell her she can grab a snack..... THEN after she performs, she is stuck in that same predicament another hour. THEN you send her out in a lobby full of HUNDREDS of people to search for her guardian when it's all said and done?! The levels of negligence, lack of planning, consideration and common sense is astounding! I was willing to overlook the fact that after paying for tuition we were forced to pay $20 a head to see her perform. I was willing to overlook that after spending all of this money up till performance night, we were told we were not allowed to take pictures or video (ushers were kicking parents out if they were caught recording). I was even willing to overlook their seriously flawed system for releasing kids back to parents but to have the audacity to keep our kids from us for several hours and not have the decency to make sure they were well taken care of and attended to absolutely pisses me off. I'm sure there are schools that will treat you, your children and your money much better. Don't do it.

We enrolled our child in a dance class, paying a $50 registration fee, $133 a month for an hour a…read moreweek class, $130 production fee for the end of year show, and $90 for a costume. The show included a two minute underwhelming routine with our child... apparently we were subsidizing the more experienced performers. Our child did not learn how to dance, but learned a two minute dance and that cost us over $1,500 plus time and efforts. And we paid $73 to attend the show. The value for the money is disappointing.

All the instructors are great but I want to shout out our instructor, Jason. He is extremely patient, gives honest feedback, and is encouraging. When you can't dance it is similar to public speaking, when you get nervous you feel almost sick, and the embarrassment can be overwhelming, but I've never felt that while learning. Sometimes there are other people there waiting to start their lessons so they're watching, but it doesn't matter, you get lost in the learning and it's soooo much fun. This is an amazing dance studio, but here's a word to the wise if you don't practice you won't get better. There's only so much a few lessons a month can do. Get the best out of your money and take those lessons out for a spin (literally, we spin a lot). Wear comfy shoes and don't waste anymore time, this is the place to learn.

The instructors are extremely friendly. The instruction is very easy to follow and step by step. We are truly enjoying our experience at this studio. All the other customers are friendly and eager to learn. The social parties that the owner throws are like going to someone's living room and having a potluck with added dance lessons. We highly recommend and enjoy modern ballroom dance studio and will continue our membership for a long time.

During COVID times they have been super accommodating and mindful while also not skipping a beat. When class was over and the children were in line to get out of class to go with their parents, my daughter saw Me and wanted to run out to me and Ms.Gina said "No! Get back in line" a little aggressively but I didn't think too much about it. my daughter started crying hysterically, she got back in line and I couldn't see her anymore but could hear her crying hysterically. Ms.Gina didn't see that I saw her telling her to get back in line. When my daughter got out of the class, she was extremely upset and still crying. That's when Ms.Gina said "she tripped that's why she's crying" We don't care that she told my daughter to get back in line but lying about it is very worrisome. We were still giving her the benefit of the doubt even though that incident wasn't sitting right with us. Later that night we watched the video of the class recording and what we saw made us angry and horrified! It was clear Ms.Gina was frustrated with my daughter. In one clip she tells my daughter "can you STOP" very aggressively and in another clip she grabs my daughter by her hair. I emailed the executive director and owner of the studio, Kendra with the screen recordings of those two incidents and not only did she defend and make excuses for her personal friend Gina, she also said she continues to be as proud as ever to have Gina as a member of their staff and Perfect Pointe family. My injuries have always been accommodated, my questions have always been answered, and the instructors have always been incredibly kind to me. Especially as a woman, I've been to other martial arts gyms where it was not welcoming or safe for women, instructors were inappropriate, etc. however at Krav Maga NOVA, instructors are respectful, ask for consent to touch you to demo something, and create a safe place to train.

Well organized, the owner is also very nice, it's clean, reasonably priced, and all kids participate in recitals even the little ones. My only suggested improvement would be more seating area or a limit on the number of family members that can be there (1 per child or something) and that parents (myself included) just be told not to give "sideline" advice let the teacher talk, gets a little noisy with all the parents trying to tell the kids what to do when they aren't listening to their teacher.. but really the instructor is great!

My husband and I joined Gold's Gym in Lorton just under a year ago. I was hesitant to switch gyms…read morebecause I was very attached to the club I was going to before we moved. However, now that we have been Gold's it feels like home. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. The front desk staff, trainers, group fitness instructors, and child care employees are all top of the line. This club offers a variety of class options, and I have yet to take on that I have not enjoyed. Also, if I feel like working out on the floor the equipment is clean and well maintained. We are lucky to have this gym in our backyard and I haven't thought much about my old club since!

I cannot say enough good things about The Little Gym. I have a very clingy 2 year old. I ended up taking her out because she just insisted I hold her the entire time. I decided to try gymnastics and we ended up at the Little Gym. She is so entertained and so into it that she hardly ever asks for me to hold her. It's engaging and there's the perfect balance between learning new skills/following direction and free play for kids to explore the equipment. It's been such a confidence and independence builder for her ! I also really appreciate the fact that if you miss a class you have 6 months to make it up whenever and they offer classes at all times of day/ days of the week.
