When I returned three hours later, he said he hadn't looked at it and asked me to come back yet again. When I declined, he became upset and practically threw the necklace back at me. To make matters worse, he also commented that he "liked my jeans," which felt very inappropriate. I only have one day off and could have gone elsewhere for the repair. This was disappointing, especially given the store's good reputation.

Candlelight Jewelers is an excellent watch repair shop. They also sell jewelry, but the styles and…read moredesigns are more budget oriented. They seem to draw an older clientele, so their selection makes sense. There is also a decent selection of entry level watches to choose from. It is located in Oak Mill shopping mall - an old school mall that houses a bunch of medical facilities. Parking can be somewhat difficult, so you may need to drive around the parking lot during peak hours to find a spot. The staff is pretty friendly and they often have their two family dogs hanging out in the shop. I have been to Candlelight a few times for watch service. They are very good for quick battery exchanges. I had the bezel on a nicer watch break and they were able to repair it in about 2 weeks. I provided the factory authorized Tag parts and they put it back together for me for around $50. If you take it to an authorized Tag Heuer repair shop the quotes were around $200. Check here for watch repairs as they are quicker and more reasonably priced than some of the higher end jewelers in the suburbs.

I described the issues and the salesperson said she would take them back and talk to the jeweler. When she came back, she said the jeweler said none of my pieces were "worth" fixing, and that I should just wear them into the ground. I am not claiming my jewelry to be the fanciest or most expensive pieces, but they are of nice quality materials and gemstones, and great sentimental value. The gold and garnet ring was left to me by my late aunt, and I was having it repaired so I could wear it to my sister's wedding and she could attend in spirit. The salesperson let me know that he (the jeweler) stated that the opal/spinnel ring could not be repaired because heat might harm the stone, which to me was a reasonable explanation. They also said the gold and garnet ring needed all if it's prongs replaced but it was "not worth the effort" because the stone is worn. They did offer to still clean my pieces, and while I feel I should have just taken them elsewhere for everything. The cleaning was complimentary which a kind gesture considering the previous insensitivity. Overall I got a very clear impression thought my jewelery was cheap and they plainly stated fixing it was not worth their time. Sentimental value is also important!

The last year I brought my second wedding ring in to get fixed , a few days later, it broke. He decided that it could not be fixed so then we decided to make it into a charm. Then we had to put it on a sterling silver necklace, which was way too expensive. That was kind of a shit show ,the whole process. My other engagement ring needed to be fixed and when I showed it to him, he said it was fine but it's not. There is a crack in it. I think the biggest issue that really made me mad was there was a bracelet in the vintage section. It was pretty. Silver hearts held together by thin bands. I asked how much it was. He said 100 bucks. I,I Knew it was too much. But I have a spending issue when it comes to jewelry . He would not go down on price even though I've been a great customer for so many years. It was a little different so I decided to buy it. Two days later, it got hooked on something and broke. I was mortified. Three days later, I went into a resale shop, and I saw the exact same bracelet for five bucks. Did he scam me? Idk. I guess I think of all the money I spent in this place and it makes me angry. I won't ever go back.
