We had an early service and we were at The Brunch House before 9:30 AM and this place was doing brisk business...a good sign. We sat down, were presented menus, and my wife ordered coffee while we decided what to order for breakfast. My wife chose the 2 Eggs and a Biscuit with hash browns ($11.99) and I decided to try out their Eggs Benedict with house potatoes ($13.99). The half order of biscuits that came with my wife's meal was quite generous...more like a full order. So much so that she took home the eggs and hash browns for a later meal. She liked the fresh biscuits smothered in a savory, peppery gravy. The only thing she would improve on is perhaps adding some sausage meat in the gravy and it would be perfect. The eggs Benedict were well executed. Perfectly poached eggs atop a smoky and thick slice of Canadian bacon and English muffin, all swimming in a creamy hollandaise sauce. The only thing that would've made this better would be a thicker, more substantial English muffin. All in all, we liked our breakfast meal and will likely return. There was a wait which simply proved that it was cooked in the kitchen and didn't come out of a bag shipped from Afghanistan. Defrost didn't thrown on the plate. The atmosphere in the restaurant is just absolutely amazing. It takes you back to the days when cafés were cafés. The relics on the wall are not the ones you find made in Japan and shipped in for decor. The real handmade type relics or hand-painted. The place is very patriotic and just a pleasure to be there. Everyone in the place seem so friendly that even though it was our first visit, we felt like it was home. I would recommend this establishment to absolutely anybody traveling through the area. I know it won't be my last trip. In fact, I'd say it will be my first of many.

Northgate wasn't on her list of restaurants to try out but we were intrigued by the positive reviews. From the outside, Northgate was showing its age. The menu indicated they opened in 2002 and it probably needs some updating...including the prices on the menu. The parking lot was quite full...a great sign! Our first impressions were that service was friendly and there seemed to be quite a lot of regulars who dine here as we heard a lot of conversations indicating familiarity. We were told to sit anywhere and we chose a booth. My wife and I ordered coffee and water to start out...their coffee mugs are quite big and they are attentive with refills. I ordered the Western Omelet with home fries and wheat toast and my wife ordered the Farmer's Omelet with tater tots and wheat toast. Breakfast was good with generous portions...both of us took home leftovers which was still good the next morning. All in all, a very good breakfast place (they also serve lunch) that we would likely return to. We thought the value was there. Lunch for 2 less tip was just over $30. Breakfast is mainly our thing here and they offer plenty to choose from on the menu - egg plates, omelets, pancakes, breakfast burritos, country fried steak, and more. A good deal is the 2-2-2 which is two pancakes, two eggs any style, and two strips of bacon for a good price. They usually also have some sort of cakes or pies for desserts depending on the day which are also tasty. This is an old school diner feel, clean, and welcoming.

I felt all the staff sort of walked around her and gave her a wide berth and frankly all looked nervous. Is there a tyrant there? Layout: is odd! Condiments are on the far right end of the counter, yet the utensils and beverages are on the opposite wall. The girl who took my order said nothing about that. I was surprised to get a burger with no condiments on it. I ordered coffee and they give you a cup and it's self-service, which is perfectly fine, but the tea and coffee were not labeled or if they are, then it's up over 5 feet, I tipped 18%, not my usual 20%*, as it's counter service. I assume that's divided up, as the staff cleaning tables were quick & efficient, as well as pleasant. Maybe blond girl was having a bad day, but if that's the case - don't share it. I was there on June 4th, 2026. Since this is not a chain fast food restaurant and they apparently don't put condiments on the burgers, I think having them on the table would be better. We both ordered an omelet with my wife opting for the Tennessee Pride Sausage and cheese with fried potatoes and a biscuit. I ordered the Hickory Smoked Bacon and Cheese omelet with fried potatoes and wheat toast. Coffee was good and our friendly server, who told us this placed used to be Richard's Place that opened in 1984 before becoming Diner on the Square 6 years ago, was on it with refills. We both liked omelets...my wife liked the sausage and I liked the crispy bacon. Our server who has been working here for 36 years told my wife the biscuits are freshly made and my wife liked their biscuits. We both thought the potatoes were just OK and benefited from added salt and pepper...and some pieces were a bit underdone. My motorcycle group stopped at the Flyers Cafe today. Our first visit. We normally ride early in…read morethe day in the summer to avoid the heat so we go places for breakfast. Flyers opens at 10am and offer only lunch, a nice break from eggs and pancakes IMHO, but some of the riders were disappointed by that. I had an Italian Submarine sandwich. It was huge and delicious. I hear that Flyers imports their hoagie rolls from Philadelphia and they are superb. No negative comments from anyone in our group about other meals. Service was very good. Rest room was clean. Staff were very friendly. Signage from the road is very difficult to see, but they say that they are working on that. The theme of the place focuses on the owners home town of Philadelphia, specifically the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team. We'll be back!!
