Dr. Atmadja was clearly inexperienced and always double billed our visits. If you go in for a regular checkup, pay attention to the billing. She brought up some silly points like slight pimples and charged this for an extra visit. I chose her as my son's primary care doctor and during routine checkup (preventative care), she will intentionally solicit questions about health "concerns" about my child, and later use it for additional billing, even though all these checkups are routine. However none of the issues were brought up! She didn't take a moment to glance over the questionnaire and completely avoided all the problems. I thought going from Kaiser to Sutter Health would upgrade us in terms of competent doctors, however that's not the case with this doctor. Before seeing her as my son's doctor, I was already aware of these bad yelp reviews, but saw she had "high" Sutter health survey feedback reviews. But not all review channels are equal and I'm sure some are heavily altered. Now I know these bad yelp reviews are legit indeed! Her style is very timid, trial and error and I didn't want my son's critical health to be her guinea pig. Not only that, her MA, Cassandra is one of the not so bright MAs I've had to face. From ordering to the wrong pharmacy, to not having the urgency to ensure the proper forms were submitted to the insurance companies. Dr. Atmadja does not know how to treat the simplest illness and will choose the weakest form of treatment, you might as well google how to care for your child than pay for the useless care at Sutter/PAMF. Dr Atmadja is an amazing pediatrician. She is very patient and provided excellent care for both of my boys since they were born (one is 2 and the other is 4.5). Dr Atmadja is very knowledgeable and can educate us parents the right thing to do at right age. One thing I'd want to note is Dr Atmadja diagnosed my older boy with murmur and irregular rhythm in heart when he was 3, she raised concerns and referred us to pediatric cardiology. Due to various reason, we did not continue the visit. Then she raised concern again at 4 year's check and asked us to take him to cardiology as soon as possible. It turned out the concern is real. We feel very appreciate that Dr Atmadja is very careful and patient checking for the kids though they don't show any symptoms. We really trust and love Dr Atmadja! read more

I took my son in to see about his plantar warts. Doctor Atmadja was very thorough and explained to me all of the treatment options and the pro and con of each. I also got a small lecture on warts. Let me first start off by saying I am baffled by these bad reviews. My daughter is 6 months old and Dr. Atmadja has been such an amazing Pediatrician! I have followed all of her recommendations and they have all been game changers. She told me to sleep train my baby at night and during the day. Her methods worked and she is sleeping 10-12 hrs a day and taking 3-4 naps. I come with a list of questions and she answers all of them thoroughly. Every time I message her with questions she responds right away. My baby had low weight and she was instrumental in getting her weight back up. I can't recommend her enough! We have had the best experience with Dr Atmadja. Before our first was born, she made the time to do a phone interview with us so we can ask her questions to see if she was a good fit for our daughter - no other doctor cared enough to do a phone interview. She was very patient and knowledgeable. Answered all our questions. Fast forward, our first child is almost 4 years old and our second child is almost 4 months old. I always have tons of questions and concerns at each appointment and Dr Atmadja has always been very patient and knowledgeable. Always puts me at ease whenever we had a concern. She is always upbeat and friendly. We go to the girls' doctor appointments together as a family. While some doctors get annoyed by it Dr Atmadja has been very pleasant and welcoming. Dr Atmadja is also very responsive and gives great advice in person and through the online messaging portal. We have had nothing but a great experience! We are relocating soon and wish we could take Dr Atmadja with us. We will definitely miss her! If I could I would give her more than 5 stars. read more

She was 40 minutes late to the appointment (mind you, nurse took us back and took baby vitals and then she was 40 mins late). She walked in and was so insanely rushed and talking so fast I could not even understand what she was saying, which was even more annoying because we had already been waiting so long. She did smile and laugh at baby but it was hard to find it genuine because it was so fast. This mattered more when she had to check the baby. She got flustered very fast when baby was moving around but - he's a baby! This is why you need to have patience and be nice and build a slight connection before you check all in his ears and eyes and mouth, especially when he's sick. She gave good advice I think but I don't trust it 100% (unlike the 3 other doctors we have seen whom we can trust fully) because I'm not sure she HEARD us or took the time to really hear the history. I strongly advise her to SLOW DOWN. Take a deep breath before walking in the room. Saving 5 minutes might win you points in profit margin in the short term but long term, if it's hard for patients to trust you because you are going so fast, then you are not being effective at all. read more

She is Amazing!!! I am so happy that my daughter is being seen by Dr. Atmadja. My daughter is a micro-premie baby. Dr. Atmadja has been my daughter's primary doctor since my daughter got out of the hospital at 3 months after being born and she has been so caring. My daughter is now 3 yrs old and we continue to see Dr. Atmadja. She is really knows what she does and if by any chance she doesn't know something or is unsure she will check with a specialist and will not give us wrong information. She is very honest and profesional. She always goes in the room with a smile and greeting to my daughter. My daughter loves her too. We visited Dr Atmadja's office for the first time today. She suspected my son got pneumonia so she ordered Xray for him. She called me about 20mins after we were done with Xray and said my son was diagnosed with pneumonia and she had sent prescription to CVS. Within a hour of the office visit my son got the medication and we all feel relieved. I don't like my son's previous pediatrician since he is not as responsive. I have to agree with the majority, this Dr isn't knowledgeable and can't speak or give advice based on experience, your child is a product not an individual. She will take extreme measures and will feed you "canned answers." I took my child to her a handful of times and the last 2 encounters she seemed annoyed, not friendly, didn't say hi to my child and continues to regurgitate a textbook. For basic issues and exams she'd be suitable as a ER DR, but for reassurance that your child is getting the best health advice look otherwise. Perhaps it's her delivery and approach rather than knowledge and individual experiences. read more

LOVED Dr. Atmadja and her bed side manner and wisdom!! We were with Dr. Atmadja for our first child until he was one, and I can't imagine doing it without her. She gave amazing goals for us and "how to" for each visit. She literally walked us through things that first year. She taught us how to introduce food and get our son sleeping through the night. I highly recommend Dr. Atmadja. She's caring, understanding, and knowledgeable. My son has needed medical care very often in his first 18 months of life (unfortunately), mostly triggered by attending daycare since he was 6 months old. Dr. Atmadja has helped us navigate through these difficult months, and has been there for us every time we have needed her. She's obviously very well trained and prepared as a physician, but she's also been emotionally supportive. I believe I would've been way more anxious and preoccupied this entire time if I didn't feel I could always rely on her for medical advice. Take your children to Melanie. She was so understanding of my two girls running around being crazy the whole appointment, asked great questions, and listened to our concerns. She also has two kids of her own, so she gets it. She's not either of my children's pediatrician, but my baby has seen her 3 times when her regular ped was unavailable. She is not particularly knowledgeable and will give you a lot of canned responses. She also seems to lack empathy and experience. Maybe once she has kids of her own, she'll figure out that there actually is variance in the population. I expected more from a Stanford educated MD, but apparently it's sufficient to tell parents that "MANY studies" support her claims. She couldn't reference a single one when asked. And she told me that "100% of six month olds can...", which at that point we're not having a medical or scientific discussion. read more

We love Dr. Atmadja! She is super knowledgeable and has provided excellent care for both of our children (one is currently 4 months and one is 9 months). She manages to be kid-friendly and engaging with little ones while also answering all of our questions during visits. She has also been highly responsive whenever I have messaged her with questions, which I really appreciate. Dr. Atmadja recently went above and beyond for us - I brought my baby to urgent care for an issue, and she happened to run into us as we were waiting and took the time to find out what was going on and provide some thoughts, which was already amazing. But then just a few minutes after saying goodbye to her, I got a call from her office, saying that she had an opening and was curious to see if we would prefer to go see her, rather than continue to wait for urgent care - YES! My son, my husband and I are extremely happy with doctor Atmadja. We started seeing her when my son was 6 months old (born in March 2015). Around that same time my son was starting daycare and started getting sick A LOT: almost every month for the 9.5 months we kept him there. I'm so happy we had Melanie in our life because she has always being supportive and helpful. She has always provided us with valuable information and suggestions which helped us go through the rough times in daycare. My son has gone through ear infections, stomach viruses, hand foot mouth disease, pink eye, RSV, pneumonia and a persistent cold during those 9.5 months. I have visited doctor Atmadja many times, not only for well-check visits as you can tell. Each of these visits have been helpful for my son and for us, because we have been very concerned about his health. She helped us go through all of this and I will always be thankful for that. During the time my son had RSV and pneumonia, we spent a week in PICU in San Francisco. And although she was not physically there (since she works in the South Bay), she was on top of his case making sure everything was getting tested and done. Also, she would communicate with us constantly to inform us and support us during those difficult times. This is a great quality doctor and we totally recommend her. read more

We have just moved to the area and I have been taking my son and daughter to see Dr. Atmadja and she is so nice and caring! She is incredibly thorough and made sure to go through all of their medical history. My daughter is usually very scared of new people but Dr. Atmadja made her feel comfortable with a bear on her stethoscope which was such a great distraction! She was very efficient and I was able to get in and out of the office with 2 kids for a check up in record time! We returned to her office a week later after my son had a very high fever. We were very worried and she did such a great job making sure that there was nothing serious going on. She spent a lot of time reassuring us and explaining the diagnosis. I really appreciated how much time she spent with us in the office answering all of our questions and explaining ways that we could help our son feel better! I took my 3 years old daughter to Dr. Atmadja. We had a very bad experience! I hope no other kids a has a same experience... Pros; - Dr. seems enthusiastic and energetic with a good "textbook" knowledge... - She was nice to us and recorded everything we said carefully. - Constipation diagnosis was true but we already knew it!!! Cons; - It was clear that she has not much experience approaching to kids. - It felt like she was rushing to conclusions without understanding our concern very well. - She insisted on taking my daughter's blood pressure while she was screaming which was pointless! - Nurse was so careless she bruised my daughters arm while trying to take the blood pressure and now she doesn't even wanna talk about doctors!! Their office wasn't look like a pediatrician office at all! Probably we won't see her again! This doctor is unfit to be a pediatrician. Met with her two times, was very hurried in dealing with our 1 yr old. My son was resisting to show his ears and tongue for examination and she basically gave up after trying once saying he was not cooperating. She completely misdiagnosed the illness as viral fever and my son has to suffer through a couple of days before the urgent care doctor found out that it was an bacterial ear infection. Quick Summary for the 2 star; Probably an ok doctor for simple kid issues, lacks experience at a minimum. Anything beyond the ordinary, I don't have the heart to recommend. Long Story; I had a opportunity to accompany my son, since mommy was awfully tired for the first post hospital visit. Since it was a public holiday, and the temperature was not forgiving. It was relatively cold and probably 2-3x cooler for the kid. My biggest mistake was probably not wrapping in 3-4 layers perhaps of clothing. Regardless, the story at MView PAMF. - My son, who was kept quasi-naked (just diapers) for about 10-15 mins, subsequently the nurse came and took the temperature. - The nurse recommended I keep him in that mode for another 5 mins since the doctor would come - The doctor comes by in 15 mins, while my son is waiting.... Diagnosis Step 1: She said the baby is too cold and that it is neonatal hypothermia. So her recommendation was to check by heating by doing skin to skin with him in his diaper. Environment: The ambient PAMF MView Clinic on a holiday is not in its ~70s ti was probably in the lower 60's at best. At this point, I clearly articulated that my body temperature is much lower than the average person, for which I got a sarcastic answer "so do you have hypothermia?" Side note: My wife and daughter despise me touching them most of the time, especially in winter. My point was that skin to skin with me (father) will not help my son. I was holding him and I could feel my cold hands getting warmed by his fragile body. Per current laws of nature: Heat transfer is from hot to cold. She had the MD and I was a silly dad. So I decided to follow advice, perhaps there is some magic; and I continued to steal the heat from my son for another 15 mins. Next Step: She comes back in and behold my son's temperature is lower! She continues: We should maybe do skin to skin for another 15 mins and if it doesn't work, you need to take him to ICU. My awesome brain was as dysfunctional as ever, with the one exception I realized I needed my wife (mom)! So did one more round of 15 mins to cool my son further at which point he was at 35.5 ish and ready for ICU. Her diagnosis: take him to ICU immediately, there should be no delay. - In retrospect a question that I have: If it were so urgent, why didn't he go with the paramedics in an ambulance! What I didn't know? Scientific studies show that its the mothers who can warm babies post pregnancy, especially while they are breast feeding. It is a natural effect of nature. Unfortunately fathers don't have that ability, sorry I didn't know that but I would expect an MD pediatrician to be aware of it. At the ICU; - Temperature stabilized after a few days - They gave him a bunch of medication and did a bunch of blood tests, because the diagnosis was he could be infected, which he wasn't finally. - Final diagnosis was he was stressed by temperature. What do I have to say? Do you expect me to believe all that medication would not stress my 2 week old son. Bottomline; - Needs experience -- Handling my son and the way our PCP handles him or Dr.Kaye at the hospital. There is a significant difference - trust me. -- Handling parents she is not competent (is a compliment) for anything complicated. - Needs to listen to patients and understand, before jumping to conclusions. - Personal traits - issues: Talks way too fast, its like a fast-forwarded machine. - Given that she is not his PCP a basic intro, might have helped to create some IPS (Inter-personal skills). - I agree they get top dollar and get super high $$, but at the very least she must be considerate enough to explain. - Patients don't need your sarcasm! My lesson; - The next time a hospital Dr. mentions Medicine is an art and science. I will totally buy it, that I should have used my human-sense to make a human decision instead of blindly believing docs. - Question, question question...why why why (hey the insurance ended up paying well over 100K for it) - Have faith in your inner parental instinct, even if doctors push you hard in a particular direction. read more

Don't get me wrong, she's probably the better than the average doctor in the hospital but she has no connection to the parents. She talks directly to the kids (a 5 year old) as if the parents have no valid information to give. Went searching for a new doctor after our last one moved out of the area, had my older daughter (8 years old) go to one and had my younger daughter go to Melanie. Same exact checkup, but by the time the insurance claim came in my older daughters balance due 0, younger one balance due $500. Why, because of how caring and thorough Melanie was, ended up checking a whole bunch of extra boxes on her form to be that extra go getter for the hospital. Don't forget under the new rules with Obama-care, not all boxes fall under the coverage zone and she ended up with two separate notes that pamf decided they were going to charge us against our deductible on. Worked in vain with Pamf to get it removed, had them reach out to melanie to request specifics and was given non specifics other than "did my job". well shes not gregory house and didn't find a hidden disease so its just wasted money on my part but no extra time spent on her part since it was all within our check-up time-frame of a whole 15 minutes. Dr. Atmadja is an incredible partner! She sees both of my children. One of my children has a rare birth defect so I searched high and low for the right doctor. After realizing that there is no pediatrician out there who is an expert in my daughter's condition, I decided that the best thing would be to find someone who would be proactive, caring and never dismissive! Our previous pediatrician dismissed our concerns about our daughter after she was born, and it took an ER doc. to figure out what was going on. Dr. Atmdaja never judges, dismisses, or makes me feel like I am overreacting. She talks through things with us every step of the way. She has even called to check on my daughter on her day off! My kids love her too. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful person. Go to her.
