The Night Oven Bakery is bespoke, with modern design and meager offerings. I came specifically…read morebecause they were recommended for butter tarts and galettes, and we wanted to carry out enough for a family gathering. An hour after opening there were no galettes and only two butter tarts; one of their basket cars was completely empty. I can't fault them for that but limited offerings from a bakery an hour after opening raises eyebrows. We ended up ordering two types of pastry, a croissant with apples on top and something whose name I've forgotten, but it starts with a V and came in two varieties, apple and cherry. It was essentially a dense, heavy sweet bread with custard and fruit on top. The custard was very nice but the dense blandness of the pastry was a disappointment. The croissant was also very heavy and chewy; it appeared shortcuts were taken in its making by using fewer and thicker layers of dough. I ordered a coffee and was told they were out of brewed coffee--again, one hour after opening. As an alternative I opted for an Americano with cream and sugar, which was presented to me warm rather than hot. My overall experience was disappointing and for folks wanting substance over surface appearances, I recommend looking elsewhere.

They were extremely large for one person to finish. The presentation is impeccable. Looks amazing, however the ingredients felt as though they were underwhelming. The cheesecake bits were dry and not flavorful. The matcha tasted quite bland... the taste didn't match the wow factor of what it looked like. The snow part was bland and it just didn't taste amazing which we expected. The Taiyakis were delicious, we got hazelnut and red bean. Perfect crunchiness and filling ratio to croissant... The pricing of bingsoos were okay since a lot of work is put into creating it. You receive minimal table service once you finish ordering and pay. There are a lot of workers. The spot is clean, new, and cutely Asian inspired. I really enjoyed the pineapple, black tea (comes in the cutest cup!) and the osmanthus tea was really delicious as well. However both are around $4+ which seems overpriced seeing its a tea bag with some honey in it.. I would definitely return. It's a nice date spot or after dinner dessert place. I've returned twice already.
