You can order online and have it delivered to your home. Or you can shop in person and use self checkout or check out with cashiers. The consistency of Meijer has always been a big draw to us. It was the first store I missed when we moved out of state. So we were sad to find that the quality of the produce wasn't what we'd come to expect. The apples weren't fresh, neither were the citrus fruits. Really disappointing. No Costco gas up here. Stopped by for a fill-up. Gas is $2.79, Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. 12 pumps for regular gas and a diesel pump off to the side. Went inside to grab some fruit, kombucha and tea. They have a huge section for self-checkout, so nice. read more

Being new to the area it was nice finding a grocery store similar to the one I shopped at in Arizona. I like to cook and often need items that are not easy to find in a smaller store, but I have been able to find them all at Meiers. read more

Hello, This is my first review on Yelp ever that I am aware of.... But I experienced a remarkable act from a employee at the self check out line. Without getting into specifics just know that there was a young man by the name of Edmir * I believe* at the Traverse City Location who went above and beyond when dealing with customer (a single mother in need) . And Edmir demonstrated the type of compassion and empathy that the whole world could use a lot more of right now. I Just wanted to let ya know, as I was struck by his quite professionalism. I go to the Traverse City Meijer store and I think it has the very best produce of any store around.

I can't specifically say much about this Meijer to differentiate it from any of the dozen or so Meijers I've been to downstate in the Metro Detroit area ... or the couple by Port Huron ... or the one near Battle Creek, or Kalamazoo?... somewhere on a long drive west going out of state. And I've only been to this Meijer twice but I am so glad the Mighty Meijer is present up here near Traverse City. I spent a couple nights camping at Platte River State Forest Campground at the end of August and this Meijer was crucial to procuring basic necessities in the late evening hours after I'd spent daylight hours doing vacation stuff in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and Traverse City. So three cheers for Meijer staying open late and being a gigantic general store for a fly by the seat of his pants vacationer. I hope they get back to 24 hours eventually but as it was they still had all those other sundown stores beat. Here's to the late bird getting the worm. read more

This rating relates only to the butcher in the meat department. I asked for 1/4" sliced pork shoulder (3 lbs). He sliced a bone-in shoulder, which totally deflates the purpose of having this done. Now I have pieces of bone to pick out and cut around. It blows my mind how ignorant this butcher was. I like Meijer a lot, but will certainly stay clear of their meat department. read more

Don't go here if you are trying to be safe from COVID. About 20% of customers maskless, close quarters at the checkouts, no cleaning of the checkouts after maskless people use them, no intervention (not even a gentle reminder or request) by any staff. Online ordering is a complete scam operation. I get ripped off by $15 - 20 every time I use the service and they make it a totally pain to recover any of the overcharges. The time they put 6 bottles of wine in a single plastic bag was fun too. Seriously, this is the most horrendous online ordering service of any store EVER. We waited 50 minutes for our order to be delivered to our vehicle. Even though we had placed the order online days before, we were informed that our our order had not yet been collected. Five cars came and went with their orders while we waited. The manager, Steve, eventually came out and explained that "They were doing their best". Their best was not very good! We were only given feeble excuses with no real, valid reasons. Will Steve ever contact us with a valid reason? They dropped the ball with no good reasons and only weak apologies. read more

Biggest store ever with the slowest check outs on the planet. They have everything you'll ever need, but you might be there for nearly two hours shopping. For being huge the food selection is good but not great. Looking for a flank steak. They had none. But the did have lots of prepackaged marinaded skirt steak instead. Newer store clean and for us easier to get to than the one with all the traffic in the busy part of TC. This one is located closer to Acme but is a shorter drive for us. Pretty easy to get in and do some one stop shopping. The layout is different than I am used to but the staff helps you find what you need. read more

Walked in w masks. My wife and I run into my sister. We get together, by ourselves, and my wife and I take our masks down to talk to her. My sister didn't have one in at all. 3 minutes into it some meathead comes and tells us to put our masks up. My sister says she can't wear one. Continues to tell us to put it up. Walks away and then comes back and threatens to escort us out. We said cool, see ya! Won't EVER be back! I know 10k a year isnt much to these snowflakes but I'll be glad to give it elsewhere! I don't appreciate Young employees making snide remarks partially under their breath but loud enough for me to hear, about customers who don't follow the arrows on the floor!! I've never even seen arrows on the floor and I've been shopping for the last 35 years. And there's almost no one in the store it's 6:30 in the morning to be near.!! I am not the first to review this place, and I will tell you why. It's amazing. Period. Without question or contest. Now, while everyone is entitled to their own opinions, this is not a choice. Here, listen: 1. It's open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. What more could one ask for. This is especially useful for me, as a server, because I don't get out of work until midnight or one in the morning, and there is no way I'm getting up early on any occasions, so a pop into Meijer post shift is fab. 2. Low prices. Lower than you'll find anywhere else, really. I'm not kidding. With a few exceptions you can find what you need much cheaper than if you headed to Tom's, Walmart, or even the Village Market (see earlier reviews ;) 3. It has *EVERYTHING*. When I reviewed Walmart I complained that it did not carry liquor or wine. Not so at Meijer. As a matter of fact, you can find about anything you want (that's legal, of course! (I know you were craving absinthe..)). From clothes and make up, to hair dye and groceries to fill an army, your shopping car will be stuffed with day-to-day and more exotic purchases. I could go on forever, but the fact is you have to try to place to understand its glory. You'll agree, this place is fab. read more

I know that there are some naysayers who hate the Big Box stores. I am usually one of them. Exception: Meijer. I've only been to one other store in my life that had more to offer. That store was in Italy where I bought some pasta and a little black dress for the theater. It was almost twice as big as Meijer. So you can imagine the calories burned that day, just wandering. The TC Meijer is a standard Meijer...24/7/365, food/clothing/toys/hardware/kitchen/music/garden/etc., gigantic store. They didn't call it the Thrifty Acres for nothin'! I enjoy the produce selection and offering of local merchandise and fare. What I do not enjoy, hence the deletion of one star, are the always-crowded aisles and too-few check out lanes open. It's the only Meijer (besides the just-opened Gaylord locale) in Northern MI, so it's always filled with shoppers. Plan to spend at least an hour or two for a quarterly shopping trip. read more

I love Mijer! I have childhood memories of the store and still try to remember what it use to look like when I was a kid. The store always seemed so big to me when I was younger and it is probably twice the size it use to be. I remember that they use to have video games at the entrance, had a Jordash store in it, as well as one of those VCR Tape rentals at the entrancel. The store has done nothing but get better over the years. They have the best produce, the fairest prices, and much better looking people shopping at it then Wallmart! You can find just about anything at Mijer. I love the self checkout lanes. No other stores in town have as good of a system when it comes to self check out. Super clean, great service and a wide variety of groceries, including ethnic specialties. But like every "giant" superstore of this ilk, it just drains me every time I go. It is never just a 5 minute "in and out" thing, it always takes me a minimum of 20 min to 2 hours, no lie. Although you can find almost everything you need there, I just don't love these one-stop shopping places. Since that is a personal preference, I am not going to penalize them. The pharmacy is understaffed and the electronics section has been stripped down quite a bit, so that is why I am only giving them 4 stars. read more

The best place to work, I worked there for a year back in 2000/2001 Loved it. 34 checkouts and one of the biggest Meijers in the country. There is everything you need, as said before but the best part is that they have a deli, sushi, coffee, and then you can go look at the live fish, all on your lunch break. What? I am that crazy that all of that sounds good to me. The best part is that it is a 24 hour store. The middle of the night when I couldn't sleep I would spend hours just walking around and checking random places in the store that I didn't usually see. Like the way back by right corner. Anyway. Everything in one place, including gas. How could you go wrong. :-) If everything was right in the world there would be one in California that I could go too. read more

Meijer is probably the best 24 hour grocery store in town. Their produce is usually pretty nice, and every once in a while, they get something odd or exotic there. Since it's a one-stop shopping center, it has everything you'd need, though some of their stuff is significantly more expensive than other box stores. I find that their health and beauty supplies are almost always more expensive than other places. Still, they have a wide selection of food, and have even added their own line of organic food! The selection of fresh meat is also fantastic, and usually they have some nice deals. They wrap their things nicely in butcher's paper and it's the best place to pick up steaks or seafood. Their international food section is always worth a look, and they have both a bulk candy and bulk dog treat section. And since they run their own brand of foods, you can pick up similar products to the namebrand food for half the price. Their cereals aren't bad at all. I do have a few warnings: if you go in late at night, some of the employees instantly treat you like you're about to steal something. My friends and I have been followed by one employee on multiple occasions, even though we just came in to check out the video games. Also, they do have a little sushi area, but I would NEVER get sushi after 5PM, that's a stomach ache waiting to happen. read more

Although I like Meijer stores in general, I do not like this Meijer. It is always overcrowded and there is never anywhere to park. I ordered a cake from their bakery and the service was terrible. I've waited in line to check how for more than 1/2 hour on more than one occasion. Thankfully the Meijer in Acme opened up and is much more convenient. The staff there is much friendlier and it's never overcrowded and much cleaner. read more

This Meijer's manager doesn't care about customer service. Example #1: in mid-January 2019, the bottle/can return room was closed for a day while new doors were installed. The manager could have established another location in the store to receive returnables, and had employees hand-write receipts - but didn't. Customers who hauled in bottles and cans had to haul them home again (or, as I did, take them and my business to the Tom's Market a half mile north). Example #2: during the past 12 months, the manager has repeatedly changed the grocery-side layout. Meijer shopping is never fun, but customers who know the layout can at least do it quickly and efficiently. Not in this store, when the layout keeps being changed. read more

They always have good produce and if you can't find it at Meijer then you probably don't need it that badly. If I come here hungry then I am going to be in some serious trouble. They have so many tasty snack items, a huge candy aisle and tons of cookies and other baked goods. But if I manage to behave myself, I usually wind up with some really good sale prices on fresh and good quality groceries. As a bonus, there is a Starbucks there so you can pick up a tasty beverage to accompany you on your shopping. My only complaint is this - the attendants at the express lanes stand there while people check out sometimes 25-30 items when they are only supposed to have 12. It seems like the attendants don't want to offend anyone but the rest of us rule followers are the ones who suffer. read more
