This location doesn't seem to have as much of a selection of merchandise and not as well-maintained as the Tittabawassee location, but that probably won't be an issue if you live out in Shields or Hemlock. However, this store does seem to have hard to find video game merchandise after other stores have sold out, which is particularly useful. This has been my worst experience with Meijer by far. I drove almost an hour to pick up a flash food order. The services desk said sorry, it's not there anymore. I will refund your money. I told him I wasn't interested in a refund, to please call or radio someone that might know, but he refused.i called back to speak to a supervisor to see if they could look into it. I sat in the parking lot for over a half hour on hold. I was waiting for over an hour to speak with someone only to be hung up on. Apparently it is too much to ask for someone to look into a problem and try to resolve it. I would have been happy with someone putting forth some sort of effort. read more

They'll accept your pick up order in the morning for an evening pick-up time and leave you hanging for literal hours. It's all but impossible to call and get an actual person on the phone and when you do, the staff can be overheard discussing about how they've been intentionally ignoring the phones because even they know they work in a dumpster fire of a Meijer. Hoping for a better response from management? Thats apparently a laughable concept, too. They'll just blame corporate for the excessive wait times, refuse to take any accountability for their unprofessional staff, and act like YOU'RE irrational for expecting to receive the items you've paid for on time or be notified when they are grossly behind schedule. Management also stated they don't have a way to "turn off" incoming orders or notify customers that they will not be getting their order on time, which is very difficult to believe. Oh, that handy app you'll also be directed towards to cancel your order by management? It doesn't allow you to cancel or change orders, no matter what step in the process the store employees are at in (not) filling it. Food is moldy! Also watched a kid poop on the ground and staff refused to clean it up. Tried to make the parents clean it up. The mom ended up crying and tried to get revenge by also pooping on the floor. read more

Check outs are slow, with long waits in line. I only bought donuts and a loaf of bread and spent 40 minutes in that store. You cannot use the self-checkouts if you want to pay cash or use a bottle return slip. Having been to Kroger many times; this is not the case and the parking lot is full of cars. There is no waiting in line for extended periods and you can use any self check-out! Employee moral is dismally low. read more

I've been numerous times to this location during their third shift. My former roommie had a broken foot and had to cruise around in the amigo for quite some time, which is why we always went after midnight. Their third shift is AWESOME. Very friendly and very helpful. Went and got items for her when she asked where they were. One guy walked us to our car and took the amigo back in for us. They even helped us bag our items. You can't beat the customer service at this location. Go, night crew, go! :) read more

Called @ 10:15 P.M. into electronics department to ask if they had a Roku Express in stock. The woman who answered gave me some lame ass excuse not to look for them and do her job stating, "well the people in the electronics department aren't here this late." I told her to just do her job and go look for it anyway. She kept giving me more trouble and lame excuses because her lazy ass didn't want to look. I told her to just go do her job and look anyway. Finally, after much turmoil from her, a few staff informed her that they had 5 or so in stock. She made it seem like I wanted a KIDNEY from her!!!!! LAZY LAZY LAZY.. And you want more than MINUMUM WAGE?!!!!!! LOL #WHATEVER! read more

Just cooked a chuck roast I got at Meijer on sale. It was completely inedible. The entire roast was grizzle, every bite. This is the second time I have gotten meat from there that was bad. I got ground meat to make tacos before and it stunk like organ meat; not sure what they put in it. Sickening. Will NEVER buy meat from there again! My wife and I have shopped at both Saginaw stores ever since they opened decades ago. It is our favourite place to shop and we do so at least four times a week. If you watch their ads and in-store clearances, you can do better at Meijer than at WalMart---at least on the sale and clearance items. Employees are very good, with few exceptions. However, I rated this a "two star" based on what we have seen in the last two trips---the disappearance of the manned express lane. They used to have two express lanes but went down to but one when they put in the self-check lanes a few years ago. At the time the regional manager(not sure of his title) from Grand Rapids, a guy called Rick W. assured us that they would ALWAYS have an express lane open. Always. Well, they quickly got rid of the express lane except during the day and then started just closing it down when the cashier was due a break and now it appears they have gotten rid of it entirely. At least that's what one employee told us today---I tried to find a manager or even Jim Grove, the store manager to confirm this, but no manager was to be seen. If they have indeed closed down the express lanes, this means they want to force shoppers to use the self-checkout lanes. Thus, as we wander about the store being greeted by every employee in order to be customer-friendly and show they care, they pull a stunt like closing down express lanes to indicate their REAL feelings toward us. Whenever we ran across a closed express lane and would have to wait in the regular lanes, we always just pushed the cart off into the women's cloths area, left the store and stopped at WalMart on the way home. We will still do the same, of course, but I suspect we won't be such regulars at Meijer anymore. Too bad. read more
