More and more I find myself shopping here. It's an all around good store. They are helpful, the self checkouts work and they have plenty of motorized carts to use. Everything about this location is great apart from one very frustrating, insulting, major customer service flaw... Greed! Customers often leave change in the self checkout registers and the staff collects that money and keeps it in a cup in a drawer at the CS Station at that area. There have been times when I've needed literally $0.02 in change and have been refused using the loose change left by Customers to make up for the shortage; being told that it's against Company policy to give that money to customers, and one member even went so far as to tell me that she "could get fired" for giving me a couple cents in change to complete my transaction! Really? Meijer is going to terminate an employee for letting customers make up insignificant shortages with change left behind by other customers that their billion dollar corporation isn't entitled to in the first place?! That is Customers' money. "Leave a Penny/Take a Penny" Not only isn't Meijer entitled to that money to begin with, but I personally have done my fair share of "Free Labor" restocking items that other shoppers left on shelves in wrong isles, reshelving product that fell on the floor, reporting spills so customers don't slip and fall and sue Meijer for thousands, folding clothes, etc. All this Community Service I do to help keep the store neat and safe is certainly worth a few pennies every now and then, which is to say nothing of the fact that I have personally given my change to the Self checkout staff and told them to put it in the bucket and Pay It Forward! People are struggling to make ends meet, and Meijer or Meijer staff are refusing to put unearned change back into the pockets of paying customers?! That's deplorable. It's a normal Monday night for me, going to grab a few things and I stopped at meijers cause I was out here already. Everything was fine til I went to check out. It's a Monday night so it's pretty dead, and I noticed a scan and go "5 items or less" and with the self checkout maze next to it I thought I'll just do this real quick and be gone. I had 8 items, I got more than half way thru my items, maybe a full minute has gone by, and an associate came over, "excuse me sir, it's 5 items or less" I looked her dead in the eye and said I have 8 items, " okay well for future notice". Are you kidding me? I've seen people my whole life use the 10 items or less as a normal check out but I have 3 items over and I'm actually gonna get told "for future use" worry about the dumb self checkout area that's constantly breaking. read more

Want to like this Place!!!!! Current store manager seems courteous and received feedback well. Think he should have store meeting and explain to staff that customers are not irrelevant. 35 % of the staff can care less. Some great people working there, yet some supervisors in the past refused to take any feedback and were disrespectful in handling complaints. Current head of the store seems super professional and respectful. Think he should and will set the tone going forward. 65% of staff are great! No stars! They let a guy in with no mask in front of me because he said that he had a tickle in his throat and didn't want to wear one. The manager told me that if a person has a medical condition then they can't refuse to serve him because it's the law. It's not the law because Walmart doesn't let people in without a mask. You have the right to refuse service. Except, Walmart will still accommodate them by doing their shopping. Meijer charges $5 for the service which is more important to them than placing their customers at risk. I left the store without shopping and my $1000-$1500 a month is going to Walmart. read more

Sushi-it's the lunch hour and craving fresh something. Picked up a $13ish tray of California sushi combo rolls. The sushi Chef was behind the counter making sure all was neat and thanked me as I took my selection. Got home and it all tasted so wonderful. Huge rolls packed with goodness. Thanks Chef! read more

Here's a quick update. Today they had no store brand purified water, this is my second trip in a row where this was the case. They used to have larger packs, which were the best value, then they only had 24 packs. Now they just have none. I had to buy needlessly expensive name brand bottles instead. There was also no penny smart brand milk, which is the best value. If your store doesn't have these products your basically pulling a bait and switch, forcing us to buy the more expensive options or waste time driving somewhere else to shop. Many shelves were empty today and with only 2 open checkout lanes it took far too long to pay and leave. One last small issue, some of the milk products are near impossible to get out of the case because they're stocked behind the connecting part of the display. They need to fix some things in this store or it'll end up like the abandoned K-Mart down the road. read more

What else could I say but, it's okay. I think I shop here more as a convenience rather than a go-to grocery store. The people who greet you on your entry are always friendly. The produce section is big but too often I've brought fruit flies back home. The meat section is decent with plenty to choose from and for the most part it's good quality. Random thought, but I remember when this old hag wouldn't let me buy alcohol because I my ID was vertical. Something in my gut told me not to go to her line but I just HAD to be hardheaded, silly me. Will not buy food from there again. A few months back I bought a Sara Lee cheesecake, cashier put it in bag completely upside down but I thought because it was supposed to be frozen it would make it the 4 minute ride to my freezer, when I thawed it a few days later and tried to eat it, it was very obvious that it had been thawed and refrozen. All the do is follow behind, and hide behind a pole and peek around the corner until you continue walking again. I think they're suppose to blend in, but my dog could do a better job then them. I would give this store a three and a half if that was an option. I ordered a pick up order between 6-7pm. I received text message the order was ready for pickup, before I even got off of work at 5pm. Yay! However when I left work it was already dark and this is the first time I was picking an order made from the app. I got to the store and waited at the quick trip spots as I was unsure where to go since it was so dark and could find clear clarification/or a sign until I left that parking spot going in the direction to exit where I came in I stumbled upon the pickup sign to my right. As improvement on the app I would suggest directions of where the pick up location would be located, in the text messages. Also the picker was quick to substitute my out of stock item that I literally confirmed while sitting in the quick trip spot. Yay! However I found the olive jar Leaking juice, in one of the bags, probably needs to be a bag that require it to sit upright, I will bring thick bags for jars to put anything in that would possibly leak. I didn't like that the I love pomegranates seeds was filled to the rim like the picture (the only reason I was willing to pay the price listed on the app, will not buy that again on the app.) and the iceberg was more brown than i rather not of bought. read more

Very bad experience when trying to return a mispurchased food item. My brother had picked it up by mistake, he pays cash and does not have an "mperks" card. I brought the item back to the store unopened, and without a receipt or the "mperks" they would not accept the return not for refund, not for store credit, not even an I am sorry! I left the item and left the store. I have frequently noticed them selling out of code foods including milk and other dairy items. I came to this location to get a couple of things after work which was about 6:00 PM. I just got done working 10 1/2 hours and I just wanted to get in and out as quickly as possible. I have walked 3/4 of the store and not one employee that passed me greeted me or asked if I needed assistance. Now I have been in management since my first job which I was 15 1/2 years old and I have been in management for 45 years. I have witnessed employees talking loud and goofing around on the sales floor. I spent Close to $150 just for a quick visit. Every time I come to this location which is not that often because I work hard for my money and I wanna spend my money were I'm gonna be treated with dignity. One you cannot find anyone to help without getting a attitude from them. A couple times I have wanted to buy fish and one time me and my friend waited for about an 45 minutes waiting for someone to help us and no one did and we decided to leave the store because we were so disappointed. The cashier Morgan should have basic skills interacting with the customers and if not talking, making eyecontact, smiling. I was in line to be checked out I knew I was going to have issues but I gave the girl the benefit of the doubt. I was in line I noticed her name badge was backwards it was like that since I left her sight. I got her name from the receipt. The only one that greeted me was the older lady sitting in a chair when I was leaving the store and that is why I gave one star. I couldn't believe it when I got to my car that she put my desserts upside down in the bag that got me really mad like she did it on purpose. The frosting stuck to the plastic containers. I know nothing would happen if I went into the store because I have dealt with this person before but not like this. I hope I will never come to this location again. read more

They billed us for this order. The order we canceled and never picked up. First they continued to text us for 5 days after it was supposed to be ready to tell us it was finally available for pickup up and then the charge came thru. We had to send our back copies of emails, texts and the order cancelation to get the charge reversed. Since this time I laughed that Meijer is "dead to me" now. I won't shop their. But since this time, Shipt has reached out to me on social media asking for specifics and apologizing profusely. Target is using them now. I had a next day order from Target that arrived as expected so maybe Shipt isn't the problem. Hard to say. I miss Peapod. But back to Meijer, the Round Lake store has about 5 or so really bad employees that always seem to be there when we shop. An older guy actually is known to yell at people which you will find funny until he yells at you. I still laughed but I an see how someone without my warped mind would not have been as amused. Also during my Shipt debacle, the person answering their phone hung up on me deliberately because she wanted a yes or no answer and I wanted to talk to someone who could actually help me. These are stressful times so you need to hire people who can navigate them with better customer service skills. I can laugh off anything and will always give someone the opportunity to turn a bad conversation or situation around. Disappointed with management regarding PPE and the pandemic. Management does not monitor fellow employees or instruct them on the proper usage of face masks. Social distancing and markings on the floor are fine but only part of the program. Thus far after contacting corporate and our RLB management nothing has changed to improve infection control. Pharmacy staff (Ruth, et al) did a great job handling our prescription transfers. They got the necessary information, made the necessary phone calls, and got the scripts ready ASAP. Pricing was so much better than elsewhere too. It's a little farther from home than our previous pharmacy, but definitely worth the drive. read more

I wish I could write a better review for this store. I live nearby and watched it being built and looked forward to its opening. I had shopped at Meijers in Michigan and had a positive experience there, but this store keeps disappointing me. The worst part is the poor customer service. They never have enough live checkers. Plenty of self-service lines open. Their prices aren't that good and then they want you to do the work of checking yourself out on their glitchy self-service machines? I just came from there and I was shopping for olive oil among other things. I found bottles of expired product that looked like they had been sitting there since the store opened. And this was not the first time I have found expired product, not to mention sloppy shelves that needed tending. The check out clerk failed to notice the coupon on the bottle of olive oil I picked out. So I waited in the customer service line for 20 minutes and noticed at the last moment that the coupon had expired a few months ago. The one bright star was Ed. B, who was gracious enough to give me credit for the coupon anyway. I had been somewhat vocal in my discontent so it was refreshing that he did the right thing. My bank moved their branch to this store so that is the only reason I will come back here, at least until I hear there is a major improvement. So first of all, I have to state that generally I only come to this Meijer on the weekends. Usually when the week was officially stressful, the kids are driving me battyand I need to finish the night with a vodka and Pepsi. This Meijer's is the only place that carries my Pinnacle Whipped Vodka and Pepsi and no one side eyes me for either having the baby with me or leaving my three on the car. (The teenager is fairly responsible) But plus #1 and #2... this parking lot is well lit and clean so I don't fear leaving my precious cargo in the car and I can grab exactly what I need. I think shopping here for anything more is only lucrative if you are a pretty avid user of the mPerks program and app. The selection of products and produce is vast without feeling like a megastore but the prices tend to be much higher than comparable stores. This does have the all in one shopping trip bonus. You can get groceries, toiletries, clothes, shoes and toys. Not bad at all! But I do use the mPerks and I appreciate building up shopping rewards and being able to electronically clip my coupons and use them instantaneously. The self checkout lanes are always open and functional. And the store greeter is always waiting on me to say hello and thank you. read more

I got them for a reason want my flowers, yet I am told well we can exchange them, I recap this isn't the first time and I have to driver 20 min to get to the store should get my money back and free flowers for the horrible quality at 16.99+tax almost $18 later. They would not comp our delivery fee. They could move it to next day but we are expecting 10" of snow and again no guarantee of delivery. No apology or anything. So, we canceled order. I have shopped at this store since it opened. But recently I was shocked to see that many customers and even a few employees had no face coverings. There were signs posted in the store encouraging their use, but no enforcement, despite a current state mandate for their use. I am a senior, and very concerned about being exposed to illness in an indoor space during a pandemic. I hurried out, then called the store manager to voice my concern. I was told that employees have been told not to confront customers over face masks to avoid aggression, and that the local police would not help because they are "not the mask police." Pathetic!
