Clean store with a large selection on apparel, footwear, accessories and lots more. We went in here while traveling from Downtown Chicago up to Michigan. I found some really neat jeans (that promise to make appear your butt bigger) for $30.00. Let me just tell you that the cut was right on. They have bane brands like Addidas and a few other. Before I shopped here I thought they were just cousins of Walmart, but now I know that they are higher quality and provide a larger selection. I also found some really cute tassel earrings on SALE for $6.00 (what a bargain)! Cashier was nice, and at the end of the check out, the monitor asked if the store was clean. The exam and choosing of glasses went fine. The problem came when I was told that I needed a referral to an eye specialist due to some noted concerns. My exam was on the Wednesday before Memorial Day. (I understand the timing of the holiday). I called the specialist on Tuesday afternoon when I wasn't contacted by the specialist regarding the referral and was told that no referral was sent in. When I went back to the Optical Store I was first told that the fa machine wasn't working, and was then told that they couldn't locate my file. They assure me that they would keep looking and call me when they had it in hand. I called the specialist again Thursday with the same answer. I returned a second time, where I was told that they had finally located the file, but the fax machine still was inoperable. They stated that they would sent it through "snail mail" to the specialist. I hand delivered it personally. It took 8 days for my referral to find it's way to the specialist. I did send an email to the Meijer Optical Corporate Office and received no response whatsoever. I will say that the front office personnel were friendly and professional, but the overall experience was such that I won't go back. read more
