Truly great people. The selection was varied, shelves were full. Very helpful staff willing to show you where to look.

My husband says this is the best Meijer around. It's clean, well lit, easy to get around and the carts roll well. These carts even have cell phone holders. Also the only way to access the alcohol area. Unsure if it's because it has its own pour station but you are on camera the whole time. The atmosphere is very chill and there is light music playing. The prices are competitive and the food is fresh. I can never get out without spending at least $100.00 read more

What's up with the haters on here?! Trust me this is a really nice Meijer's! Organized and very Grand Rapidsy! I'll be checking this place out a lot so I'll keep my eye on it but they had a nice wine selection and a nice kiddo's clothing section. Who would even say this place wasn't organized?! Great minds must think alike because I found this place totes organized and easy to navigate. Even the checkout guy in the self-check-out lane was friendly. Typically when I shop at this Meijer I opt to use the self check out simply because it is quicker or I only have a handful of items but during my last visit (1/26/27) I had a few more items than usual so I hopped in one of the two lanes open and was excited to see it was Evyn's lane! Evyn is great at small talk and after seeing the bulk of my purchase was dog treats he asked about how many dogs I had so I shared with him a but about my dogs and he told me about his dog, a German Shepard. Thanks Evyn for always putting forth your best effort and making time for conversation with your customers. read more

Your standard Meijer, but in my opinion, the staff here are always MUCH friendlier than any other Meijer, and cashiers are great at making small talk, giving a hometown vibe. Recently remodeled, it has an updated look. It's a little hard to navigate sometimes, but my biggest qualm is it seems like they're ALWAYS out of a quarter of the things on my shopping list. I know there have been a lot of shortages lately, which isn't their fault, but as far as I know, the things they're out of seem like issues in stocking, not supply issues. read more

They are a hard working crew, even through the construction going on. The are very polite & willing to help you find what you need in case you forget the map available near the entrance. Things are going th the a bit hairy til about July so give these employees a break, their need thing to do their jobs & relearning where things are too. Be Kind!!! The produce and meat departments have lots of issues. Even the Angus grinds are full of select chubs, not choice or prime. Select smokes up the house at 15%, Aldi's doesn't smoke at all even at 20%. But the produce can't seem to sell Michigan apples, IN GR!!! But since the had a sale they bought in all the first picked varieties that get the cold storage. Aldi's has good varieties! They surely don't rotate at all. Every display has bad products present. Check my M-perks. You're like Walmart now! read more

This Meijer location is one of the older ones. Although it was recently remodeled in the last few years, age still shows in areas. The store is smaller in comparison to some of the other meijers. But that doesn't bother me, they have lots of items to chose from. The employees are always friendly (especially the greeters!), the items are a good price and it offers plenty of variety. read more

This is an excellent Meijer, I think they're all better in Michigan than elsewhere. The workers are pleasant and helpful so that's quite different than their competition. The quality and choice of goods are fair, prices are reasonable, and there's plenty of room in the parking lot. They have an oddly spacious gas station, also with good prices. read more

I just wanted a soda and chill while my friend shopped instead I got rude service in the deli ( probably over worked) fountain machine that needed to be refilled and I had to take a few chairs down to sit. I am not sure if this is by design but I tend to have to spend an inordinate amount of time wandering the store just trying to find what it is I came in for. This is the worst Meijer out of all of them I go to. There is no logic to where items are placed in this store and it is unique among the chain. There is never and staff to ask questions of and just no way to speed up the process of getting out of there. I will not return and will just hop over to the Grandville store instead. read more

This Meijer location is one of the older ones. Although it was recently remodeled in the last few years, age still shows. A badly designed parking lot is cramped and frustrating to navigate. The store itself is smaller in comparison to some of the other stores. Some of its departments are particularly small, such as their office/school supplies which literally take up only one row of products. Although the standards of Meijer still shine through, a focus on product presentation and an expansion of selection would do this store good. read more

This location is consistently under-stocked. The deli never has rotisserie chickens, the middle aisles are almost always out of the sale items, and the specialty food sections are unimpressively small. I have had better luck shopping at Walmart, which I typically don't resort to. I would love to keep my business local, but if I literally can't buy half the items I want, there is no point of coming here. The lines and lane management have also gotten ridiculously out of control in the past few months. Managers and staff just stand around the self-checkout talking and make you physically go get them (leaving your cart) to keep the lanes moving. Absolutely unacceptable. Avoid shopping between 4pm-7pm if you don't want to spend 30+ minutes in line. read more

Need better lane management. Managers just stand around watching everyone wait 20 min in ling lines.

Not sure why they're open at night when they always have part of the grocery side completely fenced and blocked off by 9:30-10pm. Not very convenient when you go to grab one thing and you can't get it because they fenced it all off. read more

I am writing this review in regards to a conversation I had with a senior citizen who is very annoyed with meijers mperks . This person feels they are being discrimated against and they have contacted the store and also contacted the corporate offices. Even doing this no one at meijer has stepped up to prove this man wrong. They haven't shown any compassion or empathy to even return his call. Shame on you meijer . This man just wants the same rights to get the same specials as everyone else. But because he doesn't have the Internet and he doesn't have an email now that he is retired they are discriminating against him. Is this fair ? How many other senior citizens or others is this happening too. These are the people who probably need the discounts the most. read more

This is the worst Meijer I have ever had to endure! Always out of EVERYTHING! Went almost a month without carrying a&d ointment, today they were out of Horizon Milk, and the cheese section was almost completely empty. Just to name a couple. Empty boxes and loading carts are abandoned in the isles on a regular basis. Oh, and to top it off, I basically bagged my own groceries when the cashier wouldn't stop putting one item per one bag today. Talk about a waste of plastic and lack of grocery accountability. No wonder some of my groceries never made it home, but my receipt proves that I definitely paid for them. Oh, and one more thing, before an employee sends a customer on a wild goose chase to find matches, make sure the state actually has matched. I live 5 minutes away from this Meijer location and I will not be back. read more

JENISON MEIJER - POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AT SERVICE DESK! At the Jenison Meijer I attempted to return a cell phone at the customer service desk. I had purchased the phone at the Grandville Meijer, assured by Elizabeth from Electronics (who was very pleasant)that it could be returned if need be. When I spoke with Chad from customer service desk at the Jenison Meijer, he rudely informed me that it could not be returned because it had already been activated. I showed him it had not even been opened!! How could it be activated?? His response was that he didn't know, and it didn't matter, that the receipt showed it was activated and he could not return it, period. No attempt to help me whatsoever. I asked him to call electronics since the Grandville Meijer had indicated that it could be returned (I even had the receipt). He called back to the dep't. and the Team Lead would not even come and talk to me. He told Chad to tell me that they could not return it because it had been activated (there was a code on the receipt stating this), and that if I wanted to return it I had to go back to the Grandville Meijer! Ridiculous! So, I trudged over to the Grandville Meijer and Kimberly, Electronics Team Lead (who was very helpful and accommodating) returned the phone with absolutely no problem. She said that she did not know why they could not return it, since all the Jenison customer service had to do was to 'deactivate' the code on the receipt and return it - easy peasy! So the problem was with Jenison store - poor customer service for one; Lack of Training for another; and poor Management on the part of the Electronics dep't. Lead! Kudos to Grandville store and Kimberly and Elizabeth in Electronics for their excellent customer service! read more

Watch the shelf life dates on what you buy because Meijer doesn't do that apparently. I picked up some soup in the deli at the Jenison Meijer and it had expired on May 5 2016 (It was July 23 2016 when I visited the store). It wasn't just one container either. It was all the tomato ones. Then the rest of the Kale soup ones expired July 20. The July 20 exp. I can understand since they were only expired by 3 days, but seriously, soup that expired 2 1/2 months ago and no one has checked this in the deli this entire time? That makes me angry to think about what might have happened if someone bought that and tried eating it without checking the date. Seems like a safety risk to eat something that old that's not frozen and just sitting in the deli cooler. I did bring this to the attention of someone working behind the counter, but a customer shouldn't have to be monitoring shelf lives for them. I work in the food industry so I just automatically check dates on everything before I buy it. read more

Like the store generally but they are not following the rules on wearing masks. About a month ago several ladies were standing around chatting with masks about how they didn't see a value in masks. One of the Shipt workers stopped and joined them also taking off her mask. I spoke to the manager, he said they try to catch them at the door but after that they don't hassle people. Recommended I use Shipt, despite the fact that one of the employees wasn't wearing the mask. They were about 10 ft away at this point and he would not deal with them. I left went to Costco where masks are enforced. Stopped today again out of desperation... most people complying but a few ... no mask at all. I understand the logistics of enforcing the masks is tricky but other stores are doing it. I'm not going to this store again. Ridiculous, people are dying, our economy is suffering abd they don't want to "hassle" the customers who don't mask up. What about everyone else's rights. Ridiculous. I'm reporting them everywhere I can. read more

I've always loved shopping at Meijers and the Jenison store makes you feel very welcome, as the employees are friendly and helpful.

This store is very outdated and they are always devastatingly understaffed. They will only ever have one or two employees trying to keep up with stocking the entire grocery section on the weekends which leads to many things missing from the shelves. If you have to go grocery shopping I would recommend going anywhere else. read more

Tonight (04/25/16) I was standing 3rd in line at the deli counter. There were two workers behind the counter - one man and one woman. The man was helping the first woman, and the other worker was putting away salads. After 12 minutes (yes I timed it) it was finally my turn in line, when the man looked immediately past me and went to another section of the counter to help someone else. He never made eye contact with me during the entire time I was standing there. The other people that he went to help were not there before me because I made a point to go to the end of my line when I got there. Super rude, super annoyed. I had my 1 year old with me, who was growing impatient, so I just went to the cheese section of the store and got what I needed. When I came back, both of the workers were helping two separate people. I don't understand the logic here - I'll be writing the manager as well. read more

I have shopped at this location for over 40 yrs. and something has changed in their management. Never before have I experienced empty shelves, especially their ad items. It doesn't matter if I go shopping on Mon. or on Fri. the shelves are empty. Plus it seems as if employees have adopted a "I don't give a sh..." attitude. Meijers, you'd better pay attention. This meijers may be older but they have every thing you could want. Personally I prefer the smaller size. People are always helpful and friendly. The store is always clean. Keep in mind that some people are in training often. These people are trying hard to remember what they have to do. Give them a break, they still remember to thank you. Thank them too. I have to use an electric cart and they always go and get one for me and I take it right out to my car and they come and get it, often helping me load my trunk. Now that's service! What more could you want? I love this meijer. read more
