Coming here was a bit of a pain just because there's so much traffic in the area and people trying to get in and out. Staff here is pretty friendly restrooms were pretty clean as well great selection of everything you can think of at the typical gas station all at a fair price close to the stoplight as well as the highway overall average gas station experience though the cash registers were kind of down.

I usually stop at this Love's when traveling from my Mom's to my cousin's place during fall harvest…read moreand spring planting as it's almost halfway. As typical of other Love's there's plenty of pumps, gas prices are usually among the lowest one will find along the interstate, employees always greet you and are friendly, the bathrooms are clean, and there's a wide range of snacks, drinks, and automotive accessories. This time I filled my truck up with 14.5 gallons of regular unleaded for $4.74/gal and drove away $68.99 poorer. Oh well, I hope someday (in the near future) we can all look back and say, "I'm glad those days are over!" BTW, premium unleaded was $5.74/gal and diesel was $6.78/gal! I got hot coffee while there and resumed my journey. Overall, a good experience. Consistency is one word I'd use when describing Love's.

A bit hectic with the amount of semis converging here, but a fine stop overall. I'm actually…read morerounding up a bit because they had sparkling water here which I rarely see around gas stations. The girls were thrilled by all the snack options, and I was thrilled to get going. One thing that stands out was that this is near where I55 and I72 converge, and the traffic lightened up substantially after this stop (come from the Chicago area). So it's a good place to stop with relatively easy in and out access, and the chance to get off I55, with overall pretty clean restrooms. Not bad.

This Qik n Ez is what I consider to be in the best location to stop when interstate driving. What…read moreI mean by that is you make a right off the exit, make a right into the gas station and then can get right back on the ramp to keep heading in the direction you were going. If you're heading north on I55 and happen to pull off at this exit that's what you'll find here! You can easily and quickly get in and out of this gas station and get right back on the Interstate and keep heading north. My mom lives a couple miles away so I was using this spot to pick up beer and yes they do have a freezing cold beer cave with tons of beer, and seltzers. Gas stations in IL can also sell liquor which is a nice convenience that we don't have down south and I made sure to take advantage of during this visit.

We got gas at #61 in Springfield, IL, last night, and this morning we found we got a $200 charge on…read moreour credit card bill. There is no way that we got this much gas. We found this gas station puts a place hold on your card of $200 and says the correct amount will show up in 1 to 5 days. This is unacceptable and, in my opinion, is a path to fraud. We have lived in this area for over 16 years and never have had this happen before; but now that it has happened to us, we researched this a little and found it is perfectly acceptable for these gas stations to charge you a lot more "temporarily" on your credit card even if you only got a few gallons of gas. It may be legal, but it is harmful. I see this as a chance to be fleeced by gas stations. We will NEVER go to this station again; but since it is near an interstate, I am sure they get a lot of people with their "place hold" practice. I wonder how many actually check and see if they actually get the correct amount on their bill - eventually?

Figured I could wait. There was absolutely no movement and eventually one of the cars in front of me left. After several minutes, another left. There were now four of us. I finally had to leave as well, leaving three cars, all of which had been there when I first arrived. The car at the window had a lady just sitting there on her phone and there was no one at the window. I figured I'd come back in the evening. They closed at 8:00 that day, so I drove over around 7:00, arriving at 7:05. I was so excited to see no one in line until I pulled up to the window. There was a sign saying there was no pharmacist on duty. Oh well. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow. Honestly, if there were a CVS closer to my house, I'd switch in an instant.
