I needed to stop and pick a few things up after my cycle bar class. Still wearing my workout clothes, I figured it would be an in-and-out trip, with only less than 10 items needed to purchase. My overall experience was okay. I found everything I needed on my grocery list (I sound like a grandma saying that- lol). Anywho, my only pet peeve. Something was spilled and left sticky trails throughout the produce, frozen foods, and even up to the checkout lines areas. I was sticking to the floor and so was my cart! Talk about the struggle being real pushing the shopping cart, now I look weak to on-lookers lol. I'll preface this with, I've shopped here for almost a decade. I only say that to ensure potential readers, that I fully understand what's going on here. This place is the worst. Why would I shop at a place that I refer to as "the worst"? Because it is within a 3 minute driving distance of my home, and no other grocery store is as close. Convenience. Meijer gets 2 stars only because they carry specialty items that many others stores do not carry. It that's it. That's as far as the positives go. If you go after 5:30pm, no rotisserie chickens. Every single line is 4 deep, including the u-scan. And good luck getting any help at the u-scan by be way. Also, they're out of every item advertised as on sale. Additionally, they hassle you over getting a "rain check". And just a side note- I'm not 90 years old. I'm not some nit picky person who is going to wait for a refund or rain check over a nickel. But you betcha, if they advertise the Viva paper towels at $5.99 for a pack of 6 (regularly like 10 bucks) and they are "out of stock" (despite the sale starting on the same day), I'm going to wait for the stupid rain check. My tip is to go at 11pm. It's pretty chill at that time. The employees are far superior as well. The only positive of this entire establishment is Todd at the gas station. I've personally witnessed Todd handle a line of 12 people, efficiently, in about 2 minutes- on more than one occasion. Todd should run the show. read more

I love the deli! It has a variety of options and some solid reliable choices. I love the summer cole slaw, but they can run out of it fast! I'm almost always greeted by an employee at the door. They have great deals that you should look out for and utilize. It's in such a great location and a bonus that it has a gas station next door. STAFF: This Meijer is really clean and nice. The staff is always polite if you have questions on finding an item or when you are greeted entering the door. The produce in the store is not always the greatest. PRODUCE: They were out of bananas the last time I went grocery shopping there so be prepared to either make another stop when shopping or return another day to get all your needs. LINES!!!: I have never seen a store with lines like this one. Every time I visit this store I have waited in a line at checkout. The groups of self check-outs are for 12 items or less typically have a line queued up on both sides of the store. The larger self check out lanes are usually a bout a 1/2 person wait. The regular check-out lanes are usually the best bet, but they don't typically have that many open. OVERALL: Would recommend, but expect a line and don't expect produce. read more

I've never been a Meijer fan, but this is a very nice location in terms of short lines and a clean store. Twice I've been in and found expired products though - this is not good. One was bread with mold all over, and the other was cheese that was 4 months expired with lots of nasty something all over it. Very gross and we were lucky to have seen it before purchasing. Both times I took it up to the front and the staff didn't say thanks or anything for letting them know. Oh well. I always examine the fruits, produce and bread before buying, but I have to double and triple check here. Probably only worth 3 stars, but I do like this Meijer because sometimes I work very late and need a 24 hour grocery. read more

Reminds me of a more upscale super wal mart. Huge selection at pretty good prices, especially notable for fruit on sale. I went to the Carmel Meijer to return a toy that my mother purchased my son for his birthday. She lost the receipt but I told her not to worry about it as Meijer is usually great with returns. I've spent hundreds of dollars a week at Meijer. It is a very convenient location for me and I frequent it several times a week on my lunch breaks. The lady behind the customer service counter, upon entering my drivers license info, told me she couldn't take it back because I was told in December that I wouldn't be allowed to do another return without receipt. I told her that is absolutely not true - I think I would remember being told that! I did make a return in December but was told no such thing - hence me telling my mother that it wouldn't be a problem. I figured I would get store credit which was fine by me since I shop so much there. Well no more! My plan was to do some shopping after making the return, but I was so upset by being accused of lying, that I've decided that I will be doing my shopping elsewhere. I write this from the Kroger parking lot, in fact. Bye Meijer - sorry you will be losing my business over a silly toy return! You might want to train your Customer Service staff at your Carmel store to be a little friendlier and not accuse frequent customers of lying (I've also had experience with this particular lady when I've shipped packages from there and she's not the most pleasant to deal with anyway!) read more

We shop at Meijer a lot. Mperks is a great program. They have tons of coupons to clip and rewards. I had to go down a star as they used to have better rewards, but they earning money back has gotten worse. I still earn, but not as much. I was getting $7-8 for every $150 and now it's $2 for $100. But they have the best 10 for 10 where you get the 11th item free and a big reason we go back to keep my aunt stocked on her Diet Pepsi. Plus they always have stock. I never have issues getting things I need unlike Kroger where they don't seem to get the soda in. They have a great bakery and their fried chicken is really good. And my husband really likes their pizza. Plus the new Starbucks is bigger and I often get coupons in my Mperks to clip. I also love their selection of women's clothes! I have recently lost some weight and they have so many nice things! I met Stacy London at the Avon location over the summer. She designs the Massini line for them! I also really like now they have the regular clothes with the plus. Plus they are now the same price. I am almost out of plus so I like not having to pay an extra $2 for a tiny bit more fabric. 90% of my new clothes have come from Meijer. They have a lot of nice items and so many sales! Today I got 2 shirts, but one get one for $1. They had been 40% off, but this was the push to get 2 new shirts. And I have a clothing reward so it's nice to get money back. I bought the most beautiful red lace cardigan that I just adore. I also got several pairs of shorts that fit perfectly. It's just nice to not pay department store prices. And everything is so cute! I really wish you could see the clothes online. All my bathing suits the last 2 summers have also come from Meijer. Again great sales! I swim 4-5 days a week so love I can stock up for cheap. read more

One of my favorite locations! No matter what time of day I go I get the same service. Great produce selection. Aisles are always stocked. I'm always greeted. Awesome clothing selection, Meijer has some really cute buys! Oh, and can someone please keep me away from those orange clearance stickers! Especially running along the back of the store in the center aisle- a plethora of clearance items ready for picking! Depressing. That's the one word that comes to my mind when I think of the 6 year relationship I have had with this store. I work really close to here. I work in a business that requires me to go here a few times per week. Thank god I am almost done with that job. I have never liked this store..not pre-remodel, not during remodel, not post-remodel. I will preface this with the fact that I abhor grocery stores that try to sell everything. I also abhor department stores that try to sell groceries. If you are the kind of person. That wants to be able to buy some sneakers, an eight person tent and a bunch of bananas in one stop, this is the place for you. In my experience, when you try to be everything to everyone, you become nothing to nobody. That's how I feel about this store. They absolutely lack in quality of food and staffing. It's a weird feeling I get when I go there. Almost like I am directly patronizing a sweatshop. Nobody who works there makes eye contact, save for the overly excited greeter when you walk in (in my opinion, this hourly wage would be way better spent opening a freaking occupied cash register). Nobody smiles. Nobody asks if you need anything. Good god, I am getting depressed just thinking about all my time spent in this store... Anyhow, once you have navigated your way through their selection of "awesomeness" and you have a cart full of veggies, packaged food, some sweet new Keds and some new pool cues you now have to ring up everything yourself. They usually have none or one checkstand staffed with an actual person. I frequently make the joke that their receipts say "your fast and friendly checkout was provided by fastlane 104" or whatever number. They should give you the option to put your own name there instead of the fastlane number. It would make more sense. read more

Love that it is open 24 hours and you can find anything undern1nroofnwirhiut having to go to Wal-Mart. They have great sales and very reasonable prices to begin with. Parking is easy. Their brand of just about anything is still great quality and pretty comparable. read more

Not sure what's up with all the low scores here. I mean, it's a big box store. People come here for deals, not high quality service or cleanliness. That being said, this Meijer is cleaner than most Walmarts I've been to. With higher class...how can I say this..."clientele" than Walmart. Notice there isn't a www.peopleofmeijer.com website? But there sure is a www.peopleofwalmart.com site! And the service has always been good for a big box store. They even usually have a greeter at the door to welcome you in and to say thank you and goodbye when you leave. This place isn't as bad as some people have stated. The deals here are pretty good. And I haven't seen the "filthiness" that others have reported. I like that it's not far from my hotel and I can come here at all hours. And even if I come here at 11pm at night, there are no real strange individuals like you'd see on www.peopleofwalmart.com. It's a big box store people...not a Louis Vuitton store. My husband and I live downtown Indianapolis and this is the closest "big box" grocery store to buy from. I personally have always enjoyed Meijers. It is classier then Walmart, ewww, and their prices are good. They double your $0.50 coupons and their customer service is usually pretty good. I've been shopping there for a while because it's a closest store to my home and somewhat with ok prices. Lately I've noticed their prices going up and up. Their food isn't that fresh either. I purchased chicken thighs by Meijer and had to throw them as soon as I arrived from the store because when I opened them, they were smelly. Just yesterday I purchased tomatoes on vine and brought them home and one tomato in bag had green stuff all over it like mold or something and it was definitely rotten. I drove back and returned it. They gave me price fo tomatoes x 1.5 times back but really should've paid me more for my time, miles and gas! At one point I was shopping and the cashier was just plain rude. She was middle aged and she wore white surgical type gloves. Guess they don't want to have contact with customers. It's somewhat understandable...but in that case maybe I should've wore gloves too because often they don't have sanitizing wipes for carts and people sneeze and cough in Meijer all the time. As I was putting my groceries on conveyer at register, this woman started THROWING my items in bags. No, not putting them normally but throwing them as if she was mad at me for something. Then she picks up my bag of parsley and she goes "what is that?" I could not remember exactly the name at that time and told her I don't know. She asked me : "You don't know what you bought?" I replied : "I do, but I don't remember the name" then she guessed it was Parsley and threw it into my bag. I was so taken back with such customer service, I went to their website and wrote them a comment but never heard anything back. read more

I shop here because it is close to home. They have a better grocery selection than other groceries around me. Their produce section is huge but unfortunately, it is not always fresh. Many times I have purchased produce and it goes bad halfway through the week. They offer a discount program, Mperks, and I loved it when I first started shopping here but lately there are no 'perks' that apply to anything I am buying. A big letdown when you are trying to stay on budget. I don't have much interaction with the staff as I always use the self check out lanes. No real complaints, I will keep shopping here. read more

I visit this Meijer every Week-it's convenient to home, and the employees at the Starbucks there are very nice. The layout is good. It doesn't have as much variety as the Meijer in Noblesville or on 96th st-the grocery area seems smaller than most. The reason I'm giving this Meijer only 3 stars though is the fact that they do their major restocking on Sunday mid to late morning with no regard to the customer. They don't move or even acknowledge that you are standing there patiently waiting to buy something from their place of employment. An overnight/late evening/early morning stocking would make for a better customer experience-it's way too busy mid to late morning for that additional annoyance. read more

At this store, almost everything you could want is available under one roof, and at pretty good prices. I guess that's the main appeal, but it can be a downside if you're in the store just to pick up groceries and end up buying electronics or furniture or clothing as well, you know? This place can be an absolute madhouse on certain days/times, but it's open 24/7 as far as I know, so with some planning you can avoid the timeframes when it's a zoo. Having pointed that out, it's always highly annoying how when you are using the self-checkout lanes late at night, there's always an attendant hovering close by and watching you like a hawk. I've been to previous Meijers but this one was the best. The prices here were great and there were tons of sales. The staff was very helpful and the store was super clean. The bathrooms were clean surprisingly and not super gross like some of the other Meijers I've been too. I checked the fish to see if they were taking care of them and they were. This particular location is great for stretching one's legs out of the cold on a cramped winter night. Also, Their plants are cool - I love going inside to look at the greenery they have. There are some plants that i hadn't seen before, and i'm thinking of buying! I also like their home decor sections, as well as cooking. Their makeup and perfume sections are large and rather intimidating - and that's coming from a female! Everything else is mediocere, including the employee's attitudes toward customers. Heaven forbid you find something on the floor that's a safety hazard and have to inform somebody! read more

I've shopped at this store for a few years now after moving into the area. I've always been a fan of Meijer but within the last year their check out lines have gotten ridiculous. The lines are typically past the aisle resulting in the need to leave a space so shoppers can walk down the aisle. Multiple lanes are closed so it appears as if they have reduced staff to cut costs. I've varied the times I arrive but it does not seem to make a difference, the checkout lanes that are opened are reduced during less busy times so the effect is the same. I'll be looking out to other grocery store options. read more

I grew up shopping at Meijer -- they are a Michigan-based chain -- so they are my preferred big box store. Call it snobbery or just memories from childhood, but shopping at Meijer is usually a better experience than going to Wal-Mart. I was excited a while back when I read they were going to open a store downtown -- until I read that their plans involved demolishing a neighborhood that is considered the first prevalently African American owned housing addition. I go here every day (sometimes even twice!). I'd say the worst part is the collection of nervous Carmel housewives during the afternoon rush. Which leads me to ponder, "why are they so nervous?" They're not trying to brush off the hard day of BS at work in an attempt to muster up a shred of energy to give to their children. They're not thinking about their financial woes, or maybe they are? I was just here again yesterday and had another great experience at this Meijer. I was surprised to see this Meijer had a relatively low rating. Having lived all over the Midwest, I am glad to again have a Meijer down the street, especially such a nice store. This location is clean, bright, and well-stocked. I was here again yesterday, and there were plenty of staff on hand even on a busy Saturday. I do my grocery shopping elsewhere, but for household items this is a pleasant and fairly priced option with great service. read more
