Lunch with my mom and we shared mixed wings, spicy and honey, for an app, very good! Complimentary chips and salsa as well. We split chicken fajitas (lunch) and Papa ala Huancaina. Great flavor on the fajitas with a nice amount of caramelized veggies. Served with the usual accompaniments and charro beans. The Papa's dish was fabulous. I was skeptical because I asked if it was served hot and it's not. Think a beautifully plated, deconstructed potato salad. If you like potato salad get this! I loved it. Service by Christian was very friendly and helpful. He knows the menu well and his service was exemplary. I highly recommend this family owned spot. I received a pleasant greeting. The cute little trailer is nicely tucked away. A good variety of things to try. I loved the well packaged presentation. Not too bad of an experience. I think it is worth the try. This is what I had: BBQ Brisket Dog- 7/10 this was a special hot dog on the day I went. The bread was soft. The hot dog was ok. It was nice size and was plump. I do think it needs more of a flavor profile and maybe a snap to it. The other toppings and ingredients blended well and brought in the flavor. I am not sure if the brisket is smoked all day or night or if it is prepackaged.. it kinda does not taste like it is smoked all day and night ...but I can say it was tender. Nice touch of bbq sauce, mustard, ketchup, and I am glad I got the relish, along with sautéed onions and peppers. I don't believe it had cheese. I would try another kind of dog. The addition of the pickle on the side was also great. Frito Pie: 8/10 I have always like Frito pie. It always brings me back to my childhood. I did add sautéed peppers and onions and jalapeños. It was layered perfectly with cheese and chili. The additives helped bring the flavor along. The only reason this is not a 10 is because I would have liked the chili to have a bit more flavor. I really like to make chili in the cooler months and it is flavor city..so that is what I am use to. I would try the pie again.. I may just ask for just a little bbq sauce or something to make the chili pop.
