In the quiet heart of Columbus, Indiana, where cornfields meet city streets, lies a doorway that…read moresecretly teleports you straight into Tokyo--Ramen Ally. Step inside and you're met with the warm glow the unmistakable aroma of simmering broth that has clearly been tended with devotion and patience. The atmosphere isn't themed it's authentically Japanese, like someone bottled a slice of Osaka and poured it gently into southern Indiana. But the main event? The ramen. Bowls arrive steaming, crowned with tender, golden yolked eggs, fresh pork, and noodles that strike the perfect balance between chew and silk. The broth--whether you journey through rich tonkotsu, savory shoyu, or the bold miso--is layered, soulful, and undeniably crafted by someone who respects the art of ramen. Every spoonful is a reminder that real ramen is not "fast food" like cup noodles--this is comfort, tradition, and technique in liquid form. Add to that gyoza that crisp perfectly at the edges that sings with flavor that would make a street vendor in Osaka proud, and you start to understand why locals speak about this place with reverence. Columbus has many hidden gems, but Ramen Ally is a destination--a place you don't just eat, you experience. It's the kind of spot that makes you question your loyalty to any other noodle you've ever known. Whether you're seeking authenticity, adventure, or just a bowl of ramen that hits you right in the soul--Ramen Ally delivers. 10/10 -- A culinary side quest worth every mile, every minute, and every slurp. 10/10-- The service is exceptional and delightful.

Best. Ramen. Ever…read more And a charming location and a wonderful staff. Ordered too much food and ate it ALL because it was all perfect The Gyoza were out first - perfectly steamed then lightly grilled. Then the main event - my Tonkotsu Ramen with extra pork. The key to good ramen is a balance of flavors in the broth and the noodle texture. Nailed both - and not too salty. I picked it up and drank the last leftover bits. The curry rice was my "dessert". Perfect again! Service was pleasant and prompt. Can't wait to come back.

I got a thorough explanation from the guy working here about how his wife came to be a chef and…read moreended up in this random midwestern town, but I still marvel at the fact that internet search technology that didn't exist when I was a kid somehow led me to an Indonesian restaurant here. I am somewhat familiar with the cuisine, and I had to stop myself from ordering everything here in order to increase my familiarity. Additionally, they are big tempeh makers and while it wasn't overly clear in writing, they made it clear that most of their menu items can be done vegan. They don't mess around in hitting all of the major taste notes (sweet, savory, sour, salty, umami). Starting with a ginger tea and a spring roll, I was already wowed. That tea had a tremendous kick and just enough sweetness and came with a lemongrass stalk for added flavor. My spring roll had a nice mix of noodles and veggies and was delicious. A side of fermented cabbage was complimentary; it was fine and probably healthy. My main dish was a mee goreng, stir-fried noodles. This dish is sort of like ramen in that you can get cheap mee goreng in a package (it's all the rage in Australia) and it's satisfying junk food, but the elevated restaurant version is much better. The version here is incredibly savory; no one uses fried onions better than Indonesians. Some sort of Asian greens added variety to my dish. They had a little storefront and I took a jar of tempeh in chili sauce. Their hours are somewhat limited and I'm not often in the area, but if I am I will definitely come back. Indonesian cuisine has not really penetrated the U.S. much, but this place had a lovely family atmosphere and the food, even if you are unfamiliar, is very easy to like.

One of our most favorite places that the whole family loves! Delicious every time. We are so…read morelucky to have this restaurant nearby!
