I wish I had read the reviews before I took this bus It was horrible worst bus ride I have ever taken. The bus was 2 hours late which made me miss my return bus and when you call them to discuss the situation customer service just keeps hanging up in your face their customer service is worst than the bus ride. This company cares nothing about satisfiying customers at all. The tickets are cheap but people PLEASE BEWARE and read the reviews first sometimes saving $10 is just not worth it. If I could give less than one star I would. This company managed to endanger the lives of 56 passengers today. On the way home from Vegas to Anaheim at 11:15 am our bus broke down on the side of the road due to having all coolant leaked out. We were standing at the side of the 15 freeway in 115 degrees for well over an hour being reassured that a mother bus was on the way. I called Highway Patrol so we could get water, shade for a child on the bus and they gave us enough coolant that a mechanic passenger on board the bus used to bypass the broken whatever so we could limp to a hotel at state line. We finally got cooled down and 2 1/2 hours later a new bus arrived. By now, traffic is backed up and we are all hot, tired and miserable. I'm fair skinned and sunburned, nauseous from the heat, have a splitting headache and fuming that the maintenance on this bus was substandard, that they don't carry water or tarps for shade in case of emergency and at the least should have coolant. For a bus route that traverses the desert in 110 degree plus weather. It is inexcusable. Don't waste your time or money. read more

OK- so I know that the WiFi is not a "guaranteed" service, but please do not advertise something that NEVER WORKS! If I were needing to do homework or tend to other business, this would be a real issue for me. Not only did the WiFi not work on either of our trips from LAS LAX (and back) and after speaking with other passengers, this is a VERY frequent occurrence. In terms of seating, unless you MUST be in the front of the bus for whatever reason, the general seating is actually a bit more spacious because not as many people sit in the rear of the bus! For people that have difficulty climbing stairs, I recommend choosing a seat on the bottom floor of the bus because the stairs are very steep. P.S. another note about reservations: the "table" on the website at the reserved seats is about the size of an airline tray table... not nearly the size that they advertise! They make it look like you are getting half of a card table! Not hardly. Also, when booking (if you choose to do so) keep in mind that they will make "comfort stops" regardless of whether the bus is on time or not. We were about 30 minutes behind on the way home and STILL stopped at a rest area for a 35-minute break. Boo! I can't recommend Mega Bus and will be driving myself in the future if I need to make a day trip. read more

I've been on the mega bus twice now, only because I needed a different time then bolt bus offered. The wifi has not worked 100% of the time. Just take it off the advertisement as more than 50% of the reviewers have posted that the wifi does not work. read more

I recently took the bus from Las Vegas to Glendale AZ and it was a nice ride. The bus was clean and it got me to my destination in Glendale which was just a city bus stop. I grabbed a Lyft from there. We had a 30 min stop in Wikiup AZ to stretch our legs, use restroom and buy snacks. WiFi was slow which was okay with me because I didn't need it. read more

I will never use this service again. We had booked round trip tickets but the return trip from Los Angeles to Vegas was BS. The 10:25am bus on Sunday 8/18 never showed up. This stranded over 36 people. Calls to customer service was a joke. Each time we were told to call back in 10 minutes. After an hour we were demanding some form of service to get us to Vegas. We were told that we could reschedule or get a refund. Seriously, how was a refund going to help us while we were all sitting on the curb at Union Station. They also wanted to reschedule some of us on the 9:20pm bus to get us back to Vegas at 2:30am the next morning. No amount of satisfactory service was given to any of us. One agent refused to allow me to talk to a manager and hung up the phone. Getting through to supervisors did not get us anything except the standard of reschedule or refund. After feeling like a piece of crap as far as they were concerned, I asked how many seats were on the 9:20pm bus. The agent said 15. After saying "ok" (basically stating that I understood the number of seats) she responded that my wife and I were rescheduled for that bus. I immediately said that I wanted a refund and not a reschedule; she says "too late, you've been rescheduled and we can't issue a refund". About 27 of us walked around the corner in time for the 12:15pm Flixbus and explained the situation and the driver stated that he had room and charged us $30 per person and got us to Vegas. Unfortunately, there were people left at the mercy of Megabus who could not pay to ride the Flixbus and would have to wait for 9 hours on the curb to get home to Vegas. A damn shame. read more

Worst customer service department ever. Mega bus sent me a message saying that the wheather will delay my bus trip by 3 hours. I tried to schedule a for a different day because of wheather and delayed. Mega bus customer service refused to help me. They said if your trip is before 3 hours i cant change it. I have to buy new ticket. They hung up on me 3 times. Later that night they canceled my bus trip because of snow and road closures. Alot of heart ache and stress could of been prevented if they would of helped me early on. read more

Never again will I travel with them!! I took a trip a few months back and had it set up for me to get my errands done with plenty of time to get back. The bus was hours late which messed with my time as to where I was going, which meant I needed to change my time going back home. I called customer service to push back my time and I was told I could not even though it was plenty of time notice as to what their policy says, he made me purchase new full price tickets and told me I had to deal with it later! I emailed them like he told me to and nothing was ever done!! I was out a $100!! Worse company ever to travel with! Go with another bus company. read more

I am somewhat appalled by Mega Bus. I had to change my bus tickets, and they say they make it convenient and easy for you; which they do! However, here's the catch, you have to pay a 3-5$ FEE to change your ticket. But wait there's more -- even though you change your ticket for later, and that ticket lowers; and you still have about 15$ credited to you, they DO NOT let you use that money towards your fee. You still have to shell out more money. F****** ridiculous, considering I had to change my ticket due to a loss in my friends family (whom I was originally going to visit, but had to change trips now) and the funeral being arranged to the date that I was originally leaving. They already have half a rating -- I hope this bumps them down more. Cheap tickets, but they'll suck everything they can out of you. read more

Today 5 pm, a very very hot day about 119 F, poor passengers started lining up and waited in line under the blazing sun, no shades at all. Megabus management has no consideration for their passengers and would not implement policy to allow their ground crew to check in passengers ahead of time or in the cool waiting room. Even disabled, and babies are not spared of this torture. This only happens in Vegas. LA crew usually check passengers in about 45 min before departure so you can take a number and run to the washroom so you don't have to use the yucky washroom on the bus. In the winter time,it's the same thing in Vegas. Passengers waiting in line all bundled up in the freezing weather. Same thing during the rain. Megabus Management pays no attention to customer feedback. I had enough of this company. To make it worse, the driver today turned away a young mom with a baby because he said she should have bought one extra ticket for the baby even though the bus is half em;pty. read more

For the past few months, I have taken and enjoyed the MegaBus rides out of the South Strip Transfer Terminal in Las Vegas. - I have been most impressed with the comfortable rides at low prices, and I especially appreciate the customer service for boarding and luggage handling at this station in Vegas! The MegaBus EXPERIENCE - I like the comfortable ride in MegaBus. I have tried both the lower and upper decks, and prefer the openness on the upper deck. The seats are comfortable, and there are electrical outlets by each row of seats. The bus is quite clean. The drivers are friendly and pleasant. One driver in particular, Mr. Bernie, is very humorous. He cheers up passengers at departure. He makes sure everyone on board has heard and understood the safety rules, in a very humorous, pleasant, but determined manner, before he would start getting on the highway! The rides are smooth, fast, and pleasant. The boarding, deboarding and luggage-handling are super efficient. The price? It's generally much cheaper than other bus companies. Advanced reservations for rides on weekdays are most economical. Fares vary from $3-$24 for LA/VEGAS; $18-$36 for LA/SF. NOTES TO MANAGEMENT - The only two small complaints are: (1) airconditioning, which is set too cold, especially for passengers on AISLE seats, where the overhead vents have NO CONTROL LEVERS. Seasoned passenges would bring a light sweater of sorts onboard. (2) Its WiFi onboard is slow and unstable, IF EVER CONNECTED - Practically useless! EXCELLENT BOARDING SERVICES At the South Strip Transfer Terminal, the lady boarding agent (Ann?) was very friendly and helpful; cheerfully checking in passengers and keeping the boarding line in good order. She is especially helpful to passengers who need special assistance due to physical disabilities. Prior to the bus arrival, she'd let them take a seat on the nearby benches, and later personally escort them for priority boarding, making sure they board safely and get seated. When appreciative passengers thank her, she cheerfully replies, "You are welcome! Enjoy your ride on MegaBus!" The luggage handler is also very pleasant, efficient and well organized. Larger luggages are checked in as in airlines. Those two agents make the check-in and boarding a smooth process. Ann makes passengers feel comfortable and welcome. The service at the LA Union Station is also excellent, but Ann at the South Strip Terminal is exemplary! In summary, I enjoy taking the MegaBus rides. I also want to point out how good the boarding service at the South Strip Terminal is. - Boarding agent Ann should be commended for her exemplary service! Peter, June 2013 read more

DON'T DO IT!!!!! RUDE--UNINFORMED--IGNORANT BUS DRIVER!!!! "When I arrived, my ticket directed me to board at "Bay 8" for 12:30 AM, it was empty no passengers were in my particular bay 8 section. There were other passengers in Bay 9 waiting to board to Los Angeles. When the bus driver/attendant came out to load luggage on the bus, I approached him and asked; "Is this was my bus, for bay 8 headed to LA"? He appeared agitated, and said; "No, this is not your bus you need to wait in Bay 8". Another male passenger who was also scheduled to ride the same bus, he asked the same question, which he answered him in the same agitated manner with the same answer. As bus/bay 9 boarded was leaving we asked another bus attendant, when our 12:30 bus was arriving? He said "that" was the last bus, that was your bus for bay"8"! That just bus left. I booked my ticket for 22 July 8.30 PM. I came here around 8.00 PM. Mega bus staff and email from company mentioned that It's 60-90 minute late and wait around pick up area. It's 110 degree outside, without food and drink for two and half hour still waiting but it looks they want to send people on their next bus at 1.00 AM. It's simple just inform the people so they don't have to wait on extreme heat, can go get food and get some drink. Really bad experience. read more

I have rode the megabus a few times before this and have had a pleasant experience. However, this particular time, it was 105 degrees outside and the bus felt hotter than it did outside. The bus driver blamed it on the 77 people that were on the bus. There were no power outlets and the drive became very, very uncomfortable. THE WORST experience ever. I think I almost passed out...well, we'll see because we are still riding in this hot box. The only good thing about this trip was, the bus was on time. So I finally received a response from MegaBus. Unfortunately, it was just an automated e-mail that said that megabus will not refund customers who miss their bus. First off, I wasn't the only one! This is horrible customer service! If i was the only one, maybe, but there were other parties that missed it too! Secondly, the bus left early! Say for argument sake I WAS late, even had I been early, I STILL wouldve missed the bus! Never again will I use MegaBus. read more

Cheap, fast, and convenient. The Megabus is my choice for transportation between Vegas and LA. They're also always on time if not 30 minutes early. The buses are clean and they have power outlets. The wifi is spotty but I have unlimited data on my phone so this doesn't bother me. I've had good experiences in the dozen times I've rode the Megabus and it's WAY cheaper than driving yourself. Gas alone for a round trip is $100. Just be aware there's your share of ghetto passengers in every trip but that's not the company's fault and it's never an issue during the trip. You can edit your itinerary too for $3 which was so awesome because no other bus company allows changes to ticket dates like that. Recommended! read more

My very first and VERY LAST time riding with Megabus. Unless you upgrade to a reserved seating, get prepared to feel uncomfortable during your whole trip as the regular seats are narrow and as comfortable as a bed of rocks. The cherry on the cake is that my husband and I, as well as at least 50 other people, are being stranded in Las Vegas, as our 1.35pm bus didn't show up. My schedule bus from Las Vegas to Los Angeles was delayed from 10:15 a.m. until now at 2:23 p.m. The bus driver was rude & unorganized. Even though all passengers were already checked in by an attendant at the Las Vegas South Strip Bus Terminal & issued preboarding number tickets, the driver insist on looking at our reservation again & he randomly called whom ever he felt like boarding out of sequence. When we brought it to his attention he got angry told us to go way back if the line. He was nasty with power. I already reported it to Megabus. This bus company lately had a lot of bus malfunction along with driver meltdown. I have been riding this bus since it came to Los Angeles. I am no longer interested. On Sunday my husband and I found ourselves in the middle of a very upsetting ordeal with the MegaBus service back to Las Vegas. Scheduled to leave LA Union Station at 10:25am headed home to the Las Vegas RTC MegaBus terminal. We arrived 30 minutes early. Between 11:00am and 12:00pm the nightmare continued when we after made calls (8) to MegaBus customer service seeking answers as to why we and over 30 others were stranded waiting for our bus. After the numerous calls we were finally told that the scheduled bus bypassed Union Station and that the company made no plans to send another bus for us. The Customer Service Representatives sounded like a recording trained only to say "sorry for your inconvenience and do you want a refund or reschedule".. what?. They said we could reschedule for 9:30pm while not being compensated any further. We said, "we want you to send a backup bus now so we can get home". When we asked to speak to a supervisor, the rep hesitated then refused to let us talk with the supervisor. We had to pay another fee to another bus line to arrive home by 5:00pm. Some of the people stranded could not do that so they might have had to sit on the curb for 9 more hours and some with children. Instead of customer "service" it should be "disservive". read more

I had to take a last-minute ride back on Megabus from Vegas to LA last week. Word of advice? Book at least 50 minutes before your trip departs... as my decision was last minute, in the process of paying for the 12:30 AM trip, it disappeared from the website! PROs: + This is the only overnight bus service offered... the other bus options all left after 7 AM. Megabus is the only one that arrives in LA in the morning. + Professional employees, routine boarding process + Timely departures and arrivals + On-board outlets are very useful CONs: - My terminal number was not listed ANYWHERE during the purchase process, and if I had not googled, I would have missed my bus as it was all the way down and around the corner from the initial entrance - It was pretty loud on the bus. People were talking, playing music out loud... and this was around 3 AM. Definitely made it hard to sleep. - I purchased the 7:45 AM bus trip and went to the 12:30 AM departure time anyway for standby. I was told it was full, but when I complained that there was online availability, I just purchased too last minute, I was let on the bus. Kind of shady? Maybe. - Inconvenient location. My taxi ride costs more than the bus ticket. Other buses pick up at 3-4 different hotels along the strip. - Inefficient route: if it weren't for the fact I wanted to get back before 10 AM, I would have chosen one of the other bus providers. The Megabus ride took 5.25 hours, while others only take 4 to 4.5 hours. - A/C on upper deck was not high enough. Too many bodies, a little sweaty :l - Wifi doesn't really work. I've tried. Several times. TIPs: * I had to google to find the exact address of the South Strip Transfer Terminal that Megabus leaves from. They should provide it during check-out or confirmation of your trip! It's 6675 S. Gilespie St. * A taxi from the north end of the strip to the terminal costs ~$25-$30. read more

I rode Megabus from LA to Las Vegas as part of a road trip. The ride itself was fine. We were traveling during a 120 degree heatwave and nothing went wrong: the air conditioning was a godsend. But the drop-off location - outside of Vegas proper - is highly inconvenient, and necessitates purchasing a $5 bus pass to travel into the city. I can't help but wonder if Megabus and the local transit authority struck a deal when deciding where to place the station. read more

I took a Megabus from Vegas to LA Union Station just recently. Just 1 hour into the trip the bus broke down. The bus actually broke down twice. The second time, we were stranded in the middle of the hot desert for 2 hours until a mechanic and another bus arrived. They did send a new bus that was not a Megabus,, but had us get back on the same bus once the mechanic worked on the bus. The driver was extremely rude. It was hot inside of the bus and even hotter outside. Being stranded for 2 hours was not cool and Megabus wasn't willing to give me my refund. I took Megabus from Las Vegas to Los Angeles to watch my granddaughter perform in a play. While the trip to Los Angeles had delays toward the end and I was late to the school because of the traffic delays and confusion of the pickup location for Lyft, I was pleased that it was relatively smooth. The trip home was not as easy. The bus had a mechanical problem and we were stopped on the I-15 for about 20 minutes. We were told that it was a problem with the defroster. The bus proceeded without the need for a mechanic or replacement bus. After a rest stop in Barstow, the bus came to a stop on the freeway again and no explanation was given. We noticed a drop in speed as the bus made its way to the station in Las Vegas. I wish there had been a disclaimer on the ticket telling us that the arrival time is not always accurate due to traffic conditions. The discrepancies in arrival time were understandable, but the company should be more diligent in maintaining the buses. I hope that management is reading these reviews because there are far too many negative ones. read more

I'm giving it 3 stars and not zero because it is a great way of transportation to and from Las Vegas, the seats are comfortable and it's a lot cleaner than most (I heard since this and the LuxBus are the only ones I have taken) but when a trip is delayed for what they say 2 hours and it ended more like 3 with no explanation but just a text message saying delay time is so unprofessional. There were families with small children that could have made other arrangements due to the fact we all were there at 6:20 pm and (I don't even know since I made other arrangements to get home) the bus when I left still had not arrived around 9:30 pm. Consumer alert for sure! Go to las vegas (or other cities) and wait at end of line as a stand by and see how many seats are available after everyone is seated ( their site wont show that departure time available it wont even show that departure time, close to an hour or two prior to departure. meaning no seats available all booked up). Wrong, there are seats available. they scam you into paying double for a seat as a standby. Pull out the little machine and gladly swindle you for double the fare. You may even hear driver say oh a wheel chair passenger didn't show up so there are seats availabe (a wheelchair passenger eliminates about 3-4 rows of seats) thus justifying that there are no more seats on that departure hence the removal of that schedule from site. Well what about the other seats I saw that were empty! This all means its deliberate as their site's software is setup that way. just another contempt for us consumers and we accept it. read more
