Is it possible to go to Medusa Skates and leave empty handed or unhappy? I don't think so. I visited Medusa today to explore my options for outdoor quad skates. They helped me find my right size and brought out several options for me to try in their outdoor service station. I was shocked and delighted to be offered a pair of the hard-to-find Moxi Panthers, and even happier to find that they fit perfectly! After selecting my skates, the very patient associate helped me pick out protective pads and a helmet without making me feel like they were squeezing me for every penny. When all was said and done, I left Medusa with a great beginner's set of gear and some helpful tips from the knowledgeable staff. Great place with knowledgeable staff. They have some stock issues due to how popular skating has been becoming, but I was able to grab some Sure Grip quads when I was looking for outdoor recreational skates (as I have too much social anxiety for rinks or parks). I'm big on aesthetics and there are lots of chances to switch up your wheels, laces, stops, gear, etc. I like to admire the cute variations of everything and the staff did not recommend the impala pad pack. Although I was just admiring the colors, it felt reassuring that they knew that impala skates did not hold up very well and their pads are thin. Their stock includes the moonlight rollers which have been pretty hard to get around my area, but unfortunately my size has been hard to get. :( They made my boyfriend and I feel very welcomed and did not pressure me to buy anything, but we walked out happy. They had great service even though we stayed a bit too long. There are also little pins and trinkets offered by local artists too! This place is a bit out of the way for me but I would be glad to come back. read more

Terrible customer service. Ordered a pair of Moonlight skates in September that were for an October pre-order. In mid-November we hadn't heard anything and reached out to ask about our purchase. Only then did we find out there was a delay from the manufacturer side.. totally understandable given COVID but we were disappointed in the lack of communication. Then, in January they let us know theMoonlight order was received but they didn't have the pair I ordered (which seemed weird and maybe like I had the last of the pick bc I'm out of town..) and offered to exchange for another color. I agreed and to our happy surprise we received the skates a week later... BUT they also substituted a different size! With no warning and no explanation. I'm going to try and make it work because at this point I've waited 4 months but the communication oversight is surprising and disappointing. On top of all that, we ordered a moxie skate tool in teal which we didn't receive either, with no communication. We are going to call them to ask about the size switch and the different skate tool but at this point I'm not expecting very much. Initially, I was really nervous to invest so much money in a sport that I wasn't sure would work out for me. I did a lot of research and finally narrowed my options for which equipment would be best, but I was still unsure. I called medusa skates to inquire about the maxi beach bunnies, and I was relieved when I was met with incredible kindness and excitement! They have such an awesome attitude about beginning your skate journey, all of my worries about the sport not being for me melted away. If the roller skate community is made up of other people like Glitter and the rest that work at medusa skates, I know this is the sport for me!! I purchased beach bunnies, padding, and skate cleaning solution from medusa skates about a month and a half ago. Shipping was incredibly quick, and their customer service has great communication and is fantastic(medusa helped me get skates shipped directly from Moxi, and without charge, they gave me a larger amount of cleaning solution because the small size was out of stock). It's the little things! The packaging is pristine and there were extra goodies included!!! Also more info on the products: I am a size 9 in shoes, so I ordered an 8 in beach bunnies. Love them, but wish I had gone all the way and purchased lollies. That being said, the beach bunnies provide awesome support and are super cute. For padding, I ordered a large in the Impala pink/purple! I like them, but next time I purchase padding I will probably go with the brand smith scab because that's what my sister got and hers are holding up much better than the impala pads.
