I was an original customer for the late Jose'. He made Mexican food so exciting, rich in flavor and creative. I had a craving for a Taco salad (extra beef) as my last burrito order was kind of skimpy. $13 Taco salad deserves fresh authentic chips! Fo me, the tortilla chips are what really makes the meal. Disappointing since their owner and padre passed. Medinas used to be the best food service in Stockbridge but they got cheap and their portions are small. My wet burrito was tasty but didn't seem authentic like 30 years ago. This place still has potential, but I don't see how it will remain open in this small community without the support the Mexican, Hispanic community. It has simply become too expensive, not as good with smaller portions and seems inauthentic to support this small community. I hope things change as this establishment has a storied history and has served the greater Lansing area for several decades. I will support this biz if I can afford it. read more

I think the high ratings here are one of those things where a small town is just so happy to have a place like this that the ratings get elevated due to the lack of competition. The food here was perfectly fine, don't get me wrong, but there is nothing exceptional about Medina's. It would be well worth the drive to Ann Arbor to get some real amazing Mexican food at Taco King, or some excellent Tex-Mex at Bandito's. Our food here was decent, but it's the kind of place that serves GFS taco sauce in packets with the food, and it's unlikely that the tortilla chips were made in-house. read more

My idea of authentic Mexican food is tacos with cilantro and onions with lime on the side. I understand that a lot of American Mexican places cater to Americans with American tacos but they offer authentic tacos to people that desire them. This place had no such thing. I asked for cilantro and they didn't have it. I figured I still give it a try since I was there. Paid an extra $1 for some hot sauce that was super disappointing. All in all a far cry from authentic Mexican food. Stay away if you desire authentic Mexican fare. I drove over 35 mins only to be disappointed. read more

Great food, ready very quickly, and filling portions. Simple menu with enough variety for family members who like it spicy and those who need it mild. It would be nice if they were open past 7 as we often eat dinner late and there are not many options, but it's a small town and that's what you get! read more

Excellent Mexican food and in Stockbridge! Really set up for take out as the name says but they do have a few 2 top tables if you wanted to eat in. Nothing fancy but the food is great and that's what counts! We had the nacho salad, chimichanga and the taco plate (3 taco's choice of meat, rice and beans)Menu is simple but plenty to choose from. Everything was excellent, home made and people are very nice. Place is clean with bottled soda and water (they do need to expand the Mexican soda selection, no Tamarind). The wet burrito was terrible. It had minimal inside stuffings. More tortilla than fillings. It was put in styrofoam container and it apparently had been damaged, so the sauce leaked. You could have put the enchilada sauce in a separate container for travel. You could also added a hand full of chips to make it more palatable to the eye. Also ordered was a dry burrito and the shell was hard and dry and not grilled ( which was surprising.) And the fillings were scant. It's unfortunate that the items are not that expensive, so why not. Fill those burritos up. Make them a reason to come back. Good luck. read more

My wife and I were in the mood for a quick bite to eat and decided to give Medina's a try. Someone had posted a few pictures of the menu online which was helpful. I drove to the restaurant and placed my order inside at the counter. The restaurant has a few two-person tables if you truly care to dine in, fantastic authentic Mexican decor on all of the walls, and a drink cooler to purchase Mexican soda in glass bottles. The wait for food was just under ten minutes for two meals; 1- two beef taco meal with beans and rice, and 1 burrito meal with beans and rice. Total cost was about $16. The food had good flavor and made it a great experience all together. read more

From the tacos tostadas and the refried beans which I always take extra home because they're the best . Joe Medina's daughter has done a great job continuing what he started . Let me start out with the not so friendly staff. I understand it is just take out, but smiles go a long way. We are from out of town and just stopped as we drove by. There is only bottled pop with a limited selection and no water. In fact, I could not even get a drink of water. The taco salad comes with mild salsa. I asked if it could be hot and was told quickly and adamantly "No!" I ordered a side of hot. Given all of this, I will say the food was good.
