Went there over a week and a half ago for a meet and greet…read more The doctor said she would get back to us within a few days to let us know if she accepted us to be our family doctor.. still waiting for the phone call so I called the clinic. Apparently he still has not reviewed our files which is very unprofessional and wasting my time so I suggested other people to go elsewhere for a family doctor. Nothing professional about this place at all front desk. people are very rude as well.

I've had Dr. Al-Izzi for over a decade now and I must say that the wait time is terrible but so worth it as the doctor is not in a hurry to get out. He takes his time to listen and understand your problem and work with you to treat it. Makes time to follow-up on your lab work etc. Amazing doctor. I'm not a fan of the nurses as my experience with them is that they find it hard to book you in to see a doctor. Especially the pediatrician for my kids. They always said his Calander was full. So, I decided to show up in person to book the appointment for my kids, and I happen to see the pediatrician himself at the front desk and told him we have not been able to book the kids in to see him because his calendar is full months on end and he turned around and asked the nurses "what calendar?" and they all sat there speechless. We've had a few successes with our bookings since then, but it just makes you think what is going on at this facility?

I live very near this clinic, and when I found myself experiencing pain in my shoulder and some odd…read moretingling in my lower jaw, I called, made an appointment, and walked up. I arrived early for my appointment, and even at 10 a.m., there were four or five people in the seats already, so I'm sure I wouldn't even have gotten in near my appointment time. That didn't matter in the end, however, as I soon found myself experiencing some shortness of breath, headache, and pain in my chest and left arm. I didn't realize when I called that the symptoms I was experiencing were the beginnings of a cardiac incident. I told the woman at the desk what was going on, and she just nodded and told me the doctor would be with me soon. I was beginning to feel very scared, however, so I walked outside and called 9-1-1. An ambulance was soon on its way, and the dispatcher asked me if I had any baby aspirin I could take. I didn't, so I went back into this clinic and asked the woman at the desk if they had any. She told me that the doctor was very busy, and I couldn't have anything until I saw him. I told her an ambulance was on its way as I was now in need of urgent care, and she stared at me like I had grown a second head and eventually said, "Well, if you want to cancel your appointment, that's your choice." The ambulance arrived very soon after and I was given baby aspirin, nitroglycerin spray, and hooked up to an IV, ECG, and blood pressure cuff before they took me to the Royal Alexandra ER. The cardiac event wasn't a full-blown heart attack, just a horribly scary incident caused by a combination of stress in my life and a previously unnoticed arrhythmia. I can't actually review the doctor since I never got to see him, and I never will, now, since I'm so put-off by the clinic staff's absolute lack of response in a moment where I was absolutely terrified and in need of help. The receptionist, however, was definitely not my favourite person on that day.

When I cut my right index finger badly at work, my boss directed me here to get it stitched up…read morebecause it was right around the corner. I didn't know it was called "Medicineland Clinic" at the time--I probably would have refused to go if I did. The name reminds me too much of Candyland, that terrible children's game where, according to Wikipedia, no decisions are required and the player need only shuffle along according to the instructions. Skill and intelligence are irrelevant and your success or failure is determined by the shuffle of the cards. I was in no mood to play games for healthcare, but since I was already there by the time my confidence in the place was destroyed, I parked my work truck with much difficulty in the cramped parking lot and went inside, doing my best to avoid smearing the blood-soaked paper towel I'd wrapped around my finger to stop the hemorrhaging on the door. Inside, sitting in three neat lines of seats, were about fifteen or twenty prospective patients, each of them clearly hoping someone would draw the right card and they would be allowed to advance. A horrified woman gaped at me from behind the counter as if she'd never seen a blond giant waving a mutilated finger around before. "Hi, I was just wondering if you guys do stitches," I said. "Um," she replied. "we're very busy." "Of course, but so are the emergency rooms." "It's more than an hour wait, so you'd better go to an emergency room." "I just came from one, and the wait there is over three hours." And then, without even batting an eye, she told me that the doctor was too busy to give me stitches and that to save time I should go to an ER. Despite my repeated pleas and assurances that the hour was quite fine to wait, she cast me out. I checked the wait times on my phone and drove the thirty minutes to the St. Albert ER. I'm still there an hour and a half late -- sitting in a waiting room, in case you're curious. Medicineland, I want you to know that my damaged pointer isn't the only reason I'm writing this review entirely with my middle finger. You could call me a very sore loser.
