I hung around town all day, since I live 30 minutes out of town, as it wasn't ready. I came back several hours later after two messages telling me it was ready. There were 4 cars ahead of me. We waited 45 minutes in the drive-thru and then they told me my medicine would not be ready until Monday! I said, "I have two messages saying it's ready and I've been sitting here 45 minutes!" She checked again and I finally got it! Because of such a long wait, we were then late to a birthday party we were originally hoping to be early to! I will not be going back!

There's also this Drug Store, which looks to be part of a yet-to-be realized development initiative at and around the old Train Station. Gayle was at a Salon at the Train Station getting her nails done. After all, my fabulous wife must mind the beauty details! However, with the Iowa humidity, she would probably go for shorter hair if we actually lived here. Since this takes time, I decided to walk down Main Street and look around. After walking around the Train Station and admiring the architecture (and the safety fence near the tracks), I first wandered into Hy-Vee Drugstore and for some air conditioned relief. This place is a lot larger than it looks from the outside. They have a nice selection of the usual stuff, plus gifts and wine/beer. I ended up buying a padded wine holder to later (and successfully) take back a bottle of Templeton Rye Whiskey back to Iowa. I'll probably be back the next time I'm in town for any travel-related supplies or to just kill a little time.

It is INFURIATING to see the way they are treated, by the little snots that go to the school across the street. If you are a parent, and your kid goes to that school, for the ones that HAVE taught their kids etiquette, thank you. The staff around Park Fair Mall, and the other shoppers, we thank you. For the ones that haven't, shame on you. The higher ups in the Walgreens corporate ladder, REALLY need to think of the wages you are paying these employees, then tag on more. They are doing the jobs of 5 people. And they are doing an AWESOME job. There is a time gap, of when school lets out, that the store has a shift, but ANY time, outside of that half hour/hour, they are able to do what they are needing to do. They are ALWAYS professional, ALWAYS helpful, i have NEVER seen them anything but, even when a group of the kids come in, thinking THEY are running the place. Lol, which they aren't. The pharmacy closed at 6PM and a sign on the door advised the pharmacy would be closed until 10AM Monday. Got text messages all weekend saying my prescription was ready (the pharmacy is closed until Monday) and then a got a text telling me the pharmacy was closed and they would advise when it reopened. Never received any text advising they were reopened but I went there straight from work today and they CLOSED AT 6PM! Tried calling another Walgreens to see if they could fill it and no luck there. I advised that I was leaving at 4:30 AM tomorrow on a trip and was told I could call my Dr's office and have them call the prescription into their location. It is 6:15 at night, the Dr's office closed at 4!!! Horrible customer service and I refuse to deal with this crap any longer. Been a loyal customer for 30+ years but no more. I am moving every single prescription I have out of their reach so hopefully I won't ever have to deal with them again!
