This is my second time working with Rob for TV mounting and home theater installs. 3 years ago Rob…read moreinstalled a surround sound system and mounted our Frame TV with wires in the wall. We have been so pleased with our new surround sound. 3 years and it's still one of our favorite things we've done. When our Frame TV's backlight died (do not recommend), we were so happy with his work the first time around, we didn't bother calling anyone else. Rob and Alex are very friendly. They are extremely knowledgeable and do excellent work. It is always a good price as well. We also did a fireplace build-out so one of the speakers had to be removed for that. We had them move the speaker and mount our new (and much better) TV. Highly recommend working with these guys!

He told me he could get me anything I could get at Costco, Amazon, or Best Buy for the same price they sell it for, plus $170 for installation. So then we got down to brass tacks, discussiong which model would be best for my space. Rob is extremely knowledgable about TVs and we quickly setted on one. He was able to procure the TV for me the next day, before the next price increase, and installed it the following week. He also got the system in the other room sounding much better. Highly recommend Rob and Alex!

To do that, they installed a projector, built-in retractable screen, all new AV equipment, and in-ceiling speakers. Glenn ran the show, and was great throughout the whole process. He kept in constant contact, providing updates and suggestions that struck a good balance between performance and cost. With his decades of experience, he knew where I should save money and where I should spend it. Even when the inevitable snafus occurred (which they always do), Glenn handled them with professionalism. Alex and his crew built a custom enclosure for the retractable screen, and ran new wires for a whole bunch of things. It required cutting holes in the ceiling and building a custom ceiling box, but when it was done, it looked as if it had built into the house the whole time. Josh and team did the installation of the AV equipment. They were professional and friendly, and paid attention to all the little details. Everything down to the cable management looks neat and tidy. I'd Valley Home Theater again in a heartbeat!

We have had SO many issues with savant. We have had issues with the HDMI connection, the remote, etc. We have had so much trouble getting anyone out here to fix the system, and we've gone weeks without a working tv. The latest is that our remote isn't working. It's either $150 for them to troubleshoot it or $1000 to replace it. I would never go with Magnolia again. There is zero customer support. For that price tag, it makes no sense.

The sales people we've met at various stores are pretty good, Jeff, in particular in the El Camino office is an excellent source of information and suggestions on how to set up a home audio system, speaker recommendations and home network in general. He's patient and has even provide answers to our question on off hours when we were in a hurry to evaluate components for a home remodel during the "after stucco and before and during drywall stage" which can be a crunch time in a remodeling/addition project when wiring for audio systems can be done more easily. We appreciate their service in helping us make decisions for which components to buy and how to wire for a system we needed.

===== In And Out Service, Special Shoutout to Konley =====…read more First time ever using Geek Squad. Based on my experience, I'll be returning. I had a laptop which frustratingly would only boot to a secondary display. It's my 10 year old's laptop and she loves to write stories so she had patiently reminded me over and over to bring it in to get fixed. + Reasonable wait time. I was stupid -- I didn't schedule an appointment, and there were two customers there, each being helped by a Geek Squad employee (I don't know what cute moniker Geek Squad gives its employees!). But Konley was able to get his customer to a good point, and then turned to me to help me out. I noticed that neither Geek Squad employee (ok, now I understand why stores give their employees monikers) was rushing their customer. + Patient techs. Konley was patient, had me describe the problem. He didn't jump to any conclusions, finish my sentences, etc. He took it to a nearby bench and had me come with him. + Broke problem down and solved it quickly. Konley surmised the problem might be a setting. He hooked it up to a secondary monitor, found that for some reason, the secondary display was mirroring the first. Then he realized we COULD see dim images on the laptop screen, albeit dimly. I HAD THE FREAKING BRIGHTNESS DISPLAY INSANELY LOW. I felt like a complete idiot. Konley was gracious about it when I would have laughed at the customer. Total solve time? 5 minutes tops. Entire experience was great, Konley was quick to diagnose and a class act all the way through. I'll be returning.

They "troubleshooted" her laptop and told her that they would need to send it out for repairs and it could take several days. She explained that she needs her laptop for classes so they handed her off to the sales rep and said to "make sure to include his name on the sales" likely for commission. After they convinced her to pay for subscription fees and warranties and she did not need and she got a new laptop I was told of what happened so I offered to take a look at her old laptop and it took me less than a minute to figure out that the connector for her charging cable went bad so her laptop just ran out of batteries because it wasn't charging. I ordered a new cable for $10 and in the meantime charged up her laptop with my own charger cable. After returning her laptop to her she was surprised to see what the cause was because the Geek Squad guy supposedly plugged a different cable to the laptop and still said it was broken. I would not trust these people. They are looking to make as much as they can for themselves and it's clear from other reviews that they're just a scam or very incompetent.

He not only fixed the URC system but wound up installing a new sound system and speakers. I had a terrible experience which lasted for years and years with a sound / control / wireless system installer who left me with a URC system that was unworkable and constantly dropping off the network. Every wireless device in the house constantly lost their ip address. After years of spending a lot of money and switching between different internet providers, switches, modem's and equipment I decided to give Brian a try and I am so glad I did. He was able to correct all the previous ip protocol issues that were screwed up. It took no time at all and, after years and years of frustration my problems went away. Brian is knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, creative and skilled. He replaced the in-wall speakers with hidden speaker's, and installed a new receiver. He removed redundant equipment I never needed. The sound system is incredible and it makes me enjoy watching movies and listening to music even more. I appreciate Brian for his excellent service and I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a sound system installer who knows what he is doing. When we met Brian the first time we realized that he was a fit. We spent more time taking about the music, artists and the composers than we did about the system and weather or not he could get me up and running. There was no doubt in my mind that he would be able to diagnose and fix the problem. Fantastic Brian and thanks for taking on my problem. John & Collette....
