A decent parking sized parking lot around the pavilion\kids playground area and a short walk to the soccer\baseball\softball fields. There is bleacher seating around the baseball fields, I'm not sure about the soccer field. You can actually rent out the fields here or the pavilion at amazingly cheap rates! The ball fields and fieldhouse have separate entrances up the hill from the administration offices. The dog park is across Ellis Ave, along Ellis Ave. The female ball fields are across Bishop Hollow, on the side opposite all of the rest of the park. Soccer fields are behind the library off of Ellis Ave. Playground is hard to find; it is in way back corner behind soccer field. There are these weird "paths" back there, like someone had extra asphalt and dumped it out as far as they could go to make a halfazz sidewalk. It's more of a liability than an asset. Don't let your kids walk there because they'll trip. (Luckily, I did not learn the hard way.) Playground is a little worn, but served its purpose. Playstructure with 3 slides, "rope bridge" which was really made of metal, corkscrew fireman pole, bouncy rides, dino figure to climb on, and swings. The walking path extends from Bishop Hollow Rd (in dog park across from Library), down Ellis Ave, across Ellis past the soccer field, up past playground, and back behind ball fields, to wrap around between them to ball field parking lot. Basketball courts are right next to Library, and are SUPER POPULAR in the summer, so get there early if you wanna turn.

Elwell Field is a great park/playground that is on our rotation of places to go with the kiddo…read more There are multiple play structures including a large wooden play structure that offers multiple stories of things to play on. Underneath has some pretend items for smaller kids to play in. Multiple slides including one enclosed 2 story slide that is a favorite of ours. 2 additional stand-alone slides, a geodesic dome, swings... plenty of things for everyone to play on! There is also a couple of baseball fields that are catty-corner to one another with some grass in between. There are two tennis courts that are in really great shape and two basketball courts that are usually open. The park is adjacent to the Haverford College nature trail which is a nice way to extend a park visit or change up the walk to and from the park. Parking is a bit of a pain in the butt, only street parking however it is worth the hassle.

The Zipline has no safety precautions whatsoever and nobody works at this park so the thing is mobbed by sh*tty teenagers f*cking around. There are no barriers, no nets. Eventually a toddler is going run in the way of a teen and get obliterated. Then there's the giant pendulums. Two of them. Like 10 feet high in the air, these horrible things that kids can climb on and rock across a big gap. No safety precautions again. No nets, no barriers, and no attendants. What happens when a kid sticks a finger in the hinge at the bottom? What happens when a kid falls off, 10 feet up, onto another? Bottom line is this park is made of high quality material, looks new, smells new, yeah, very new and shiney. But everyone involved in designing and approving this park should be fired. It's filled with deathtraps and should be torn down.
