I'm disgusted by how most nail salons reuse tools and don't wash their pedicure tubs but, at Medford Spa Nail they use tools straight out of a new package and use plastic covers in their pedicure tubs for each use. I got my first ever gel manicure today by Michelle and she was awesome and paid attention to every detail. Sam explained to me how to care for gel nails. He also offered me their membership card for just $2 and you can rack up points to get free treatments. This will be my go-to place from now on and I will always ask for Michelle!

The staff is super friendly and they are very accommodating when making an appointment. The salon itself has a great aesthetic. It's very clean down to the packaged sterilized nail tools. They also have a fan that they place under your hands when using the filing machines prior to soaking your nails. The fan sucks up all the debris that comes up when the color is being filed down. Speaking of colors, they have a decent collection, but to me a bit limited. They do have some designs available as well. I tried the magnetic top coat and it does look super cool. My tech this time around also directed me to a great color. I wanted a light pink, but not sheer. She suggested a color and just tried 1 finger to make sure I liked it. She was spot on with the color. My only little critique is they charge a bit extra when you need to cut your nails. Some places charge extra to shape them. I can understand if this is acrylic that they are working with, but these are my own nails and shouldn't cutting and shaping be included? Maybe there is a reason and I'm wrong but I do find it odd. Other than that I don't mind coming here when in the area!

When they apologized, I was completely understanding and told them it was no big deal at all. I then had a pedicure and a manicure. I had regular Color Street polish on my nails, not gel. The nail tech initially tried removing it with a cotton ball, but because Color Street can be a little more difficult to remove, she ended up using the nail tool to get the rest off. When it was time to pay, I was charged $20 for the manicure, even though I didn't even get polish put on. When I questioned why it was $20, the nail tech explained that Judy, the owner, saw her using the tool to remove my polish and told her to charge me an additional $5. That honestly really rubbed me the wrong way. This was REGULAR nail polish, not gel, acrylic, dip, or anything else that would normally require a special removal service. It simply needed a little more time to remove. After being a loyal customer for over a decade, waiting 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment without complaining, and being completely understanding about the delay, I found it incredibly petty to then add an extra $5 charge because my regular polish took a little longer to remove. It's not about the $5. It's about how you treat a longtime, loyal customer. I would never have expected something like this after coming here for so many years. Unfortunately, they lost a customer over it.

I got there right after opening. It's a big and open salon and it's very clean. I was taken right away. From the moment I sat in the chair I was very comfortable! I decided to treat myself to a spa pedicure instead of a regular one. After looking over their spa options, I went with a cucumber pedicure. The smell of cucumber was relaxing and fresh. The nail tech that did my pedicure was wonderful. Continued to ask if the water temperature was okay and even asked if I liked the color on my toenails after she applied it to one toe. They also have a ton of color choices for polish, powder, and gel. The pedicures have been great; it's always a very relaxing atmosphere, and they've never made me feel rushed. The dip powder manicures have been 4 out of 5 stars for me because they sometimes don't always cover the side edges of my nails, and they always use the small skinny drill tip to file the back of my nail bed and cuticle beforehand, to get through the "manicure" part quicker and easier. I know that filing the nail bed a little beforehand can help the material stick better than it would to a super smooth surface, but I'm always disappointed when I see the drill come out for a fast cuticle cleanup instead of doing it all manually with the manicure tools . The pricing is moderate, the staff is very nice and professional, and I will definitely go back in the future, because I like the pedicures so much.

Where do I begin!!!! I was greeted nicely and barely waited and I didn't have an appointment. I got extremely lucky with the most perfect and funny nail technician I have ever had. Her name is Delilah. Truthfully she needs to be the head nail technician there (even though I haven't had anyone else) she really sealed my experience. My experience ended up being fabulous! The masseuse who worked on me was Michael Newton. He was super welcoming upon my arrival and he explained everything to me calmly and patiently. And his work with his hands..whew! Amazing! He was very thorough and calming and genuinely seemed like he cared about helping me alleviate my back pain.
