Seemed like they were not interested in helping you if you were not purchasing a high dollar item. Today I had a sales person I believe her name was Melinda W she was the first kind clerk I have had help me in there with kindness and a professional attitude. She was not pushy and tried hard to get me what I wanted. I was surprise since in the past the service was so negative and unkind. I hope they have changed their service to a "nice helpful kind" of service. Melinda was very sweet and I hope she is there when I go back again. Thank you Melinda for the great professional service.

    Hocks recently opened an expanded version of their medical supply store. This new store is also…read morethe site of their online warehouse. I have no business or need to go there, except for one reason; my sister can only find a particular sensitive skin cleanser that she insists on for her children through them and because she does not want to pay shipping charges. So being the kind person that I am, once a year, I go to Hocks to pick up a years supply of this cleanser for her. She makes all the arrangements, I just do as I am told. I had no idea that they had opened up a new store. The new one has every possible apparatus, etc that you can imagine using for at-home use while recovering from surgery, etc. The clerk working could not find my order. I was annoyed to death. Apparently, no instructions were left for the staff, and whoever handled my sister's order was not available and could not be reached. I was told that the store and the website were separate entities though they were housed in the same building. The clerk had no idea where to find my order. Driving 30 minutes out of our way did not make me happy nor did it please my already irritated husband. An hour later, after already passing the Indiana border, the clerk calls to tell me that she located my order and did I want to come back and pick it up? Sure, how about sending it to me and waiving the shipping fees? No way in hell would I double back. Lucky for my sister she agreed.

    How long does it take to get a hospital bed after you order one?…read more Sadly, not joking, it took over three months to get things fully installed and settled. As we age, the shopping profile changes with more medical related needs. After doing some research, my friend came across this company in seeking a hospital bed for home. Searching their website, my friend selected the bed and mattress and we placed the order online. A short while later, the company told us that the mattress was not available (backordered) and asked us whether we wanted to order another model but we stuck with the original one. After a couple of weeks passed, we didn't hear anything and considered canceling the order. It was on this telephone call that I learned that it was shipped already. After discussing this with my friend, I called them again to ask them to withhold from having it delivered but they refused. The person on the phone told us that there would be a restocking fee and that we would still have to pay for the shipping which would pretty much be the cost of our bed and mattress. Given these circumstances, we bit the bullet and decided to accept the order. The communications were scattered as I got an email from the shipping company with a tracking number. In clicking the link, it led to nowhere. Things took an upturn when the delivery and installing company called me on a Saturday to schedule with me. We selected a midweek delivery. After sharing the dimensions of the building's elevator in making sure that the bed would be able to go up four stories, the installers were able to bring the bedframe upstairs and assemble it. The dip came when we learned that the mattress was not shipped with the bedframe. It actually arrived a few days later so my friend had to get a bridge mattress to use until it arrived. End of story? No, as we then learned that the brackets to secure the mattress were missing. They shipped a set to us and we learned that they did not fit this bed. After back and forth for about a month, they sent us some padding to brace the mattress from moving. sigh... we finally closed the book on this. They found a solution, replacing a part that didn't fit but served its function. It has been frustrating but we finally have everything in place. As I wrote this, it teetered between 1 and 2 stars but I'm bumping it to three only because of the diligence and helpfulness of Sonia. I'm not sure whether I'll buy things again here given the trying process.

He set an 11am appointment and we…read moreshowed up early, they were able to get us in pretty quickly and we worked with Maria to go over the new machine, doctor's recommendations and the best mask for my grandfather. Maria was very thorough, clear and professional while going through everything. You can tell she's great at what she does by how she makes sure to go over details, different situations and scenarios and best practices without overwhelming the client with information. I had no idea we'd be spending over an hour here when we first arrived, but she made sure to set the expectation right away and also kept things light and engaging so it wasn't a boring experience. She also treated my grandpa with respect and allowed him to ask questions and speak on his experience with his previous machine to gauge the differences. Other than the CPAP machine, we all walked around to see if there were any items that would benefit them. My grandma found a couple items and was able to test them out around the store. One of the employees (his name escapes me but he had a Buc-ees mug), helped us go over a couple items to pick the best option and I was able to pay with him. He was also very nice and wasn't pushy about purchasing items and showed a genuine interest in getting my grandparents the best fit for their items. I am not sure how pricing on these items compares to elsewhere, but it is nice that people can test out the items here and take them straight home to use. I've looked at some items online and I'm always concerned it won't be a good fit or that the quality may not match what you read online. Here you can see it, touch it, use it, sit on in and see if it's right.
