Unfortunately, my doctor in NYC had sent the refill into my pharmacy in New York, and I was unable to get it. When I called Walgreens (sister pharmacy to Duane Reade which was my NYC pharmacy), they said it wouldn't be a problem at all to get my meds. I just had to go online and do an Rx transfer request. Lo and behold, after putting in this request online, my prescription was ready for pickup in 2 days. You really can't beat that. Especially during a pandemic when this was a daily medication that I needed to take.

Picking up a prescription takes a 15 minute wait when it is a refill and up to a day if it's a called in prescription. I had a 9 am appt for an immunization, arrived 5 min early, and checked in. (There was no other customers in the pharmacy.) It is now 9:30 and I am still waiting. Pharmacist called me at 9:31. She was pleasant, seemed skilled. The problem is customer service. Still only one star.

I said "no that's not acceptable" please just transfer to this Walgreens. She agreed but I feel bad for the many that would have taken what she said as "gospel" and driven 35 minutes each way. Crazy. Also don't bother prepaying to (Express Pay) that just confuses EVERY clerk I have even used and takes twice as long. I left Walgreens when they closed the sugarloaf store and then reluctantly went back for drive in convenience (over Kroger) but I will not be going back. Ever!!

I always felt like I had to dodge people left and right whenever I walked down any aisle. The stock here is not bad. They have everything from electronics to grocery to home goods. Some of the prices weren't clearly labeled though and even scanning the barcode on the app often didn't reveal anything. They have a self checkout that is pretty easy to use. They do not charge for the disposable plastic bags here.

Today is the 26th, so I returned it for an exchange. Explain to me why the associate opened the brand-new replacement item in front of me after scanning my receipt and processing the exchange. I have never heard of anything like that before. When I asked why they were opening the new item, the associate stated that it was because it was an exchange and claimed it was "their policy." I know that is not standard everywhere. If a product is defective, and I purchased it legitimately with my receipt, I absolutely have the right to exchange or return it within the return window. The item wasn't even 48 hours old. Another employee then came out of the office while I was trying to understand why this was being done. The entire interaction felt rude, unnecessary, and unprofessional. This is exactly why I prefer shopping at stores other than Walmart because there always seems to be unnecessary issues and confusion. This location on Pleasant Hill Road seriously needs improvement, not just with returns and exchanges, but with customer service overall. Half the time employees do not know where products are located when customers ask for help. Compare that to stores like Publix, where employees will actually walk customers to the aisle to help them find what they need. A customer should not have to deal with nonsense over a simple exchange for a defective product that was just purchased. It makes no sense and creates an unpleasant shopping experience.
