There was no option for $50s (I needed 4 $50s), and took the cash I had pulled out to the teller. The teller informs me that the max she can exchange is $100. At first I think she is joking because it is so ridiculous, so then I recap that I literally just pulled cash out of Chase's ATM, and walked 3 steps to her. There are no other customers in the bank, so she was able to witness this whole scenario. She tells me to put my card into her card feeder and request more cash. I tell her no, I don't want more cash, nor do I want to incur another ATM fee as I did not use a Chase card. She then proceeds to say she can only help me if I have a Chase credit card. I inform her that we have a mortgage with Chase, but its under my husband's name; however we have the same last name. Another employee comes over, and I thought this person would be more reasonable, but no - says they won't help. Absolutely ridiculous!

In brief, I am a local store owner, trading in Lafayette for 12 years, fully known at the bank as I bank at minimum 3-4 times a week. There is always a line of people to be served, for the most part there are 3-4 tellers staring at a screen with one customer, cannot imagine why, everyone else in line is ignored. That aside, I recently went in to the branch to bank a check that was made out to our store, the paying in slip had my LLC name on it. The Teller said he was unable to accept the check as it did not have our LLC name on the check. The check was a regular check that I receive four times a year from Fedex, plus I have a long history with Wells Fargo, having all accounts including my mortgage with them. The awkward bank manager was called and stated that she would not take my check as it could be fraud, even though she knew who I was and that I was a local trader. She told me to return with my Sales Tax License to prove both the LLC name plus the store name, this I did, but they would still not take the check as the "Back Office" girl at the branch said no. I took it to the Pleasant Hill branch who banked it immediately. I will now remove all accounts from Wells Fargo, and am in the process of reporting the horrible service at the Lafayette branch. It was obvious that the manager enjoyed being as awkward as possible. i notice there is never a reply to any of the poor reviews and there are many.

Unfortunately I gave the IRS this account number for Tax refund deposit, otherwise this account would be closed as soon as I have moved all automatic deposits to a different bank. After standing there waiting for ten minutes, another bank employee appeared and I assumed she would serve me. But no, she joined the other teller to help her/her customer. I appealed to a bank officer, but got no assistance from her either. At the every least a change in manager seems needed. I could go on about how my numerous requests for a table, shelf, or other furniture on which one might endorse a check or place a purse, etc. by the ATM'S were fInally answered and a shelf appeared--only to disappear again to be replaced with a hand sanitizer due to COVID. I guess it's time to check into moving my accounts to another bank.

So after calling around a bit, I found this branch. It is in a very safe area, located at the Rossmoor Town Center. This is named after Rossmoor, a private wealthy senior citizen's residential community of homes called nearby. That is one of the first things the banker told me when I signed up (the branch manager, who since has retired). I laugh, since this used to be called just Rossmoor Shopping Center; and, until recently, was an outdated dinky little plaza, and still is in some ways. I guess they wanted to give it a more upscale image, just like the disgusting Hilltop Mall in Richmond, CA is now called the Shops at Hilltop or Hilltop by the Bay. There is also a older Safeway and newly-renovated CVS and Starbucks in this plaza, which is convenient. There also is a John Muir Heath outpatient center across the street and nice Rite Aid with a drive-thru too. If you come here during lunch, there is also some food truck parked outside on the street, due to all the health workers. Well, in regards to the bank itself, I have always received excellent service here from all the tellers and bankers. One even knows me by name (Chad). If there is more than one person in line, one of the bankers will come out to assist the tellers, so you never have to wait long. They had a nifty Customer Appreciation Day last May with taquitos, cookies, rice, beans, etc. It was over when I got there, but they still had plenty of leftovers, so I helped myself. They safe deposit box area is nice, since they have two private rooms to go to sort out the contents of the box. They used to have signature cards to compare your signatures to (in addition to checking your ID) before they let you get your box, but now it is all PIN based. One time, years ago, they had the signature card out in advance for me, since I used to come every day then for my safe deposit box, and they saw me arrive in my car. They also have water (warm usually from all the ice melting), coffee, and hot chocolate for customers, as well as suckers. The waiting area is nice,with plush easy chairs. (I sometimes have to wait here to see a banker before going to my safe deposit box). I have had to wait no more than five minutes usually. One time it was over 20 minutes and I had to be somewhere, so I left. The branch is always very clean. The pens they have tied down at the bank slip area before the teller windows were always out of ink in the past, but I have stopped using them anyway, in favor of my owns pens in my purse. The tellers area is nice, since there are no bars or thick security windows like at other Chase's. I have always been able to get parking up close in their small lot in front. Otherwise, you have to park farther away since there is a Safeway there. It was tight sometimes when they were doing the renovations in the main parking lot, as Safeway cheaters parked in Chase's parking area (against the rules). One even parked in the handicapped disabled stripe wheel chair access area. I called the police non-emergency line, but they didn't come in time. They have also been accepting when I deposit all my change here, to make my purse lighter. I usually make weird deposit amounts, like $2.17, lol. Oh, this branch does not have a drive-thru, due to their location in the plaza, but does have excellent handicap accessibility, due to all the senior citizens they serve.

I came with my neighbor to replace her debit card yesterday, Jose didn't seem willing to help that he said "do it online!" as cold as that. I noticed how impatient he was, so I urged him to be patient with us. This was day 1. Day 2 - We called Chase, we were asked to go to the branch to replace the card. Today, it was unfortunate that "Jose" tended to us again. We told him that Chase representative said we could get the debit card replaced at the branch, he was curt with his reply, and absolutely had no manners, no smile, like he wasn't happy to be there. I had to remind him again to be patient with the customers. He shouldn't be working there with that attitude.

So I walk in the branch at 330 pm on a weekday and there is no line. A lady from her desk yells…read moreover "welcome and I will help you in a moment" and proceeds to file paperwork. She is still doing her paperwork and yells over "Are you just doing a deposit?". I reply, "I will wait for you to finish what you were doing"... The first lady "Bakina" interjects interspersally... and is upset with rising voice telling me to leave "her branch"... The "manager" comes out.. so I give my version.
