We have now purchased three cars from Mears. They used to be great, but apparently there are new people in the leadership positions, and that is making things fly apart that used to be fairly solid. They honestly give the lowest trades in town, and that's obviously a tactic they use to make more money off of you. Thankful that my salesman was looking out for us, or we would have gotten a worse deal than we got. Thomas is a class act. Unfortunately, he has now moved on. Sales side was bad enough, but the finance department is flat out horrible. Had everything approved, but they were VERY high pressure in trying to get you to buy every add on you can think of. I literally had to be forceful with the guy to get him to lay off the high pressure sales junk. Almost got up and walked out on the deal because of that dude. It also took FOREVER for them to pay off my trade and get my license plates to me. I've never encountered such a wait. Had to make multiple trips to the dealership to talk to a manager just to find out info. Main manager told me he would call me back, but never did. Then, they had me pay out of pocket to fix the window tint and said they would cut me a check. Then, well over a week later they only gave me half of the money back. Again, it took multiple trips to the dealership to finally get the rest of my money back. Very frustrating experience, and I don't think I'll be back. I'd give mears negative stars. Car buying experience and the salesman were fine but afterwards, it's been awful. The communication is not great. They don't seem to care as much after they've made their money off you. The only upside is the effort of the car salesman. Outside of that, I wouldn't recommend to anyone at all. My car was brought in to service for bluetooth and after 3.5 hours, there was no update and all they could say was they were gonna send it next door. Fast forward to a week later and I still have no update. except that Subaru's service is closed Saturday. I drove my car for 2 weeks and mears has now had it for a week. Maybe do a more thorough inspection before you list features for a car that actually don't work, maybe work on customer service and vehicle turn around time. read more

Horrible service department. Paid $180 for a diagnosis, and over $3500 for a new battery, thermostats, and starter. When I got my vehicle back the check engine light was on, I got a low coolant warning, the drivers side windows rolls down incrementally, and the passenger side windshield sprayer was detached from the hood, and neither sprayer sprays anymore. None of these were issues that were present after the full day inspection, or in the week and a half between inspection and "repair". Once they get their money, they make zero effort to correct issues they cause. read more

We recently purchased a vehicle through a salesperson, with the understanding that it would be delivered to us. The finance manager, Taylor Bryce, called on Thursday to go over our numbers and mentioned that he had included four years of oil changes. Our car was supposed to arrive on Friday, but by Saturday, after hearing nothing, we called him--only to be told they had forgotten and had no one available to deliver it. Frustrated, we drove two hours to pick up the vehicle ourselves and sign the paperwork. Taylor seemed rushed and had another finance person assist us. When I started asking questions about the contract--specifically a $1,700 maintenance plan--I was told our salesperson should have explained it. When I pressed further, I was told the high price was because it included coverage for wheels and tires. I asked to see a breakdown of what the plan covered, and he promised to get it for me. After numerous calls over the next week and speaking with two different managers and our salesperson, we still hadn't received our paperwork. My husband had to make another trip back to the dealership just to get our warranty details. To our shock, that $1,700 maintenance plan only covered oil changes--valid for just 36,000 miles, with a service interval of every 10,000 miles. That means we essentially paid over $400 per oil change for a used Jeep! I have since called and am still waiting for a manager to address this issue. The lack of transparency and poor communication have made this a frustrating experience, and I would strongly advise others to carefully review their contracts before signing. read more

Last year brought my car in for an oil change, and inspection. They charged me $$$ for my cabin filter but didn't change the oil or do the inspection so I had to come BACK in for them to fix what they didn't do. This visit was changed $400 for what I thought was going to be an oil change and a diagnostic because my check engine light was on... picked my car up at closing time to find my check engine light still on... was told "oh I'm so sorry I forgot to put it in the note and the Mechanic didn't check it.. bring it back when you can it's not going to leave you stranded" .... Only to then get a notification from my car two days later that there was engine issues and to bring it in immediately. When I brought it in was told "no ma'am, I don't see in your note that your engine light was on".... Mears might be "friendly" but have NO IDEA what they are doing. Do NOT waste your money or time here (like I did for the 2nd time). Go support the small local mom and pop shops who won't charge you an arm and a leg to only give you the run around when THEY mess up. read more

My advice is to stay away from Mears Mazda at all cost. They have a lot full of used cars. If you are considering buy one of the cars from the Mears Mazda lot be sure and check for a clear not salvage tile. Take the care to a reputable mechanic and have it checked. It would be wise to not trust the Mears service department. The best thing to do is stay away from buying any car from these people. I am passing on my experience with Mears Mazda. Character seems to in fact have a price... I recently purchased a BMW X5 M50i from this dealer, and my experience has been frustrating, to say the least. Shortly after taking the car home, I realized the sunroof didn't work, which was already concerning. Then, within days, I discovered that the front brakes were completely worn out and needed immediate replacement. I decided to take the car to my local BMW dealer, where I paid to have both the brake pads and rotors replaced. When I contacted the dealer about the brake issue, they informed me that they could have replaced the brakes (for a fee) if I had returned the car to them "...that the owner was simply unwilling to pay another dealer for the repair." However, if they didn't catch the brakes' condition during their inspection before selling the car, why would I trust them to perform the replacement properly after the fact? Their apparent disregard for such a critical system certainly raises concerns about their attention to detail and overall commitment to customer safety...to say nothing of their lack of commitment to customer satisfaction. As for the sunroof, they offered to clean and inspect it but couldn't guarantee that they would cover the cost of any necessary parts. This is yet another issue that should have been caught during their pre-sale inspection. Overall, I'm very disappointed with the lack of attention to detail and the poor service. For a dealership selling luxury vehicles, I expected a higher standard of quality control and customer care. My negotiations, deal, and vehicle delivery were all done out of state. I found the car I wanted using an internet search. The vehicle was what I was looking for (Porsche 911 with manual transmission still in factory warranty) was available at Mears in Lubbock, Texas. I live in Las Vegas, NV. I have no complaints with my sales associate. She was responsive and attended to my needs. A manager assisted in sealing the deal and I negotiated a dollar amount I was to pay including my trade-in. Mears accepted photos of my trade-in (it was a 2021 with only 10,000 miles on the odometer.) I'm sure they ran a Car-Fax and saw the car was clean. I sent them a cashier's check for the difference in my trade-in and the total amount of the deal. It seemed to take forever for the car to be loaded onto a transport from Lubbock to Las Vegas. My trade-in was to be picked up in Las Vegas and delivered back to Lubbock. This finally happened almost 3 weeks from when the deal was originally struck. When the car arrived to me, I found that there was only ONE key fob and NO owner's manual. This was finally made right after numerous calls by me to Mears. The dealership manager finally agreed to arrange for me to get an additional key from the Porsche dealership in Las Vegas and a new owner's manual was purchased by Mears and sent to me in Las Vegas. I am pleased that they finally agreed to make this right since they never disclosed that they car only came with one key and no Owner's manual before I agreed to buy it. I was surprised to find that Mears did not collect the correct amount of Nevada sales tax on the deal after they assured me that they "shipped out of state all the time" and would verify the correct Nevada sales tax rate. They were wrong and I had to pay an additional $1500 in sales tax at the Nevada DMV. Since I had included the sales tax in my bottom line offer, I now ended up paying more for the car than I had originally agreed to pay. In any case, I do like the car I bought from Mears. I've already had to replace the front brakes and rotors though after the Porsche dealership in Las Vegas inspected them and told me that they needed replacing. It would have been nice if Mears had disclosed that to me. They supposedly inspected the car before putting it up for sale, so they knew that the car needed front brakes and rotors. Mears still has my trade-in sitting on their lot now almost three months after it was taken in on trade. They reduced the price now almost $2,000 less than they gave me in trade, so they aren't making much on the deal they made with me. I would NEVER do a vehicle purchase online again without physically inspecting the car I'm buying. Lesson learned. read more

Probably one of thw worst car buying experience. The original sales person was amazing , unfortunately he was was out for a week due to personal reasons. Complete understandable. So got stuck with someone named Billy and Issac. Billy was covering for the salesman. But came up short . Issac the financial manager. Had no clue what was going on. Just wanted the money . So to start. The Day I went to go pick up the vehicle . I was stuck at the lot for 3 to 4 hours because no one could find the key. Was promise a full tank of gas. Didn't get that. Left the lot with expired tags. Got pulled over , but thankfully the police officer let me go with a warning. . Went back to the car lot to get new tags. Was told that it qould take over 24hrs before they could put new tags on. Had to go back for the 3rd day in a row too I could get tags. That wasn't expired. Then the inspector didn't even bother to check the vehicle over. He came out got thw Vin and the mileage. After that went to, 2 different shop and was told that the tires that were there should mot have passed inspection. So Had to spend another 800 for new tires . But then to top it all off . I was promised 2 keys. Only received one. Then when I bring it up to them they want me to have to pay for it . Because some how they lost the 2nd key. So they quote me there cost of $422. But when I called kia it was only $300. Probably one of the worst car lots in town . I would not recommend anyone going there to purchase a vehicle. And if you do recommend have an independent shop look at it. They dont care about there customers. They just want your money and they don't live up to thier promises. My daughter wanted a certain Mazda there. She needed me to be a co-applicant. Since I live 6 hours away and she lives in Odessa, they mailed the paperwork. But instead of her being the main applicant and me the co-applicant, they made it the other way around. Well I didn't like that so got her financed with the credit union. Better interest rate and terms. They lied they'd rewrite the paperwork so it would all have her as the primary applicant. Never rewrote a thing. Instead we get there expecting everything to be fixed. Not. I waited for her as a grown up to say fix this like you said, as they had several days to do that. Instead nothing, she took their lying explanation, now she can deal with the repercussions. I keep getting paperwork pertaining to her car. I will never buy a Mazda. Lio lied and so did several of the staff. Noah was another. Then they hand you the same paperwork from beforehand except note for the financing. So like I told her later she should have said we'll go to lunch while you rewrite the paperwork. Then we'll sign. Buyer beware - I purchased a car through Auto Trader from Mears Mazda Volvo. I had never done this before, but figuring a Volvo dealership would be reputable. At first the salesman was very accommodating to all of my questions. Told me nothing was wrong with vehicle - I was purchasing a used car. Sent video. I have text after text saying nothing is wrong with the car with the exception of some minor scratches that their paint guy could repair. My calls and texts were answered immediately during all of this with both salesman and finance person. They did rush me to get the contract back to them before the car was delivered. Once the car was delivered, I realized how I had been taken advantage of. The car had damage on the interior as well exterior, the sunroof wouldn't work - found out later it was because a bullet casing was lodged in it!! Multiple dents on the car that he failed to tell me about. Couldn't see in the video. The tire sensor gauge light wouldn't go off, the collision warning light randomly would go on and off. I was left twice stranded because the car wouldn't even start. The window tint on the back glass was so bad you couldn't even see through it. The passenger window didn't even have tint on it while the drivers side did. The list goes on and on. None of this was disclosed and not shown on video. I tried calling multiple times, leaving messages, texting and NO response except one guy called back and asked what he could do. Said he would get with the GM and let me know. NEVER heard back. I've spent a lot of money getting this car repaired. Even today it is in the repair shop. I would NOT buy a car from these people. They lie and take no responsibility. read more

I sent a text asking them for $28500 out the door pricing with delivery of the car to my home- to which the sales rep said "deal". They made me fill out financing paperwork and everything. I asked them if it was possible to pay cash which they eventually said yes to (only until after I filled out the paperwork). I get called by their financing officer the next morning who tries to get me to provide them with a cashier's check. I say ok, I can grab that before the arrival of the car. Last second, he tells me the out-the-door price of the car is $31000+. I explained to him that the agreed price was $28500. He says he refuses to honor that.
