This is my third new truck I have bought from Ram. Every service department has been great. Until today, Frontier Dodge seem to employ incompetent people, with no knowledge of customer service. My truck was under warranty, the driver's side tail light went out. I scheduled an appointment to leave my truck at 7:30 am. I showed up at 7:45. I received no call or communication on the status of repairs. At 12:15, I called to inquire about the repairs, my truck wasn't even looked at. I picked up my truck, went to auto zone and fixed the problem in 15 minutes. Frontier Dodge had it for five hours and didn't do crap... If you want crappy service head to Frontier Dodge, they're full of it. UPDATE: I received a called back from Johnny, the service director, upon completion of our conversation about the service. We went in to look at used jeeps. They showed me the one they had on the lot. Then they told me there were very few in Lubbock for them to pull for me to look at. They showed me a brand new one and of course it was nice and great. We gave him our monthly payment preference and he came back to convince us to lease even though we had already told him we didn't really want to do that. We finally agreed to do the lease. He went to do the paperwork and it took FOREVER. Come to find out the system was down so they had to do everything by paper. I had a newborn baby with me and was never warned that this process would literally take all day. After all the paperwork was done there, we had to go sit in the financial office for another hour probably. We finally got all of the paperwork finished. The car wasn't cleaned up before giving us the keys. We also didn't get the 1 year of free car washes like we were supposed to. read more

WARNING: Potential fraud and identity misuse. This past weekend, I discovered that an auto loan for nearly $100,000 was opened in my name without my knowledge or consent. The salesperson listed on the paperwork is Christopher Rangel and the finance manager is Toby Clement. I only became aware of this when I received an email regarding the loan at 4 am on Saturday. After multiple calls and being transferred several times, I finally spoke with the GM's assistant, Pamela Moa. Unfortunately, her attitude during the call came across as passive aggressive and dismissive, especially considering the seriousness of the situation. What was even more concerning was that no one at the dealership appeared to take the situation seriously or show any concern that potential fraud may have occurred within their dealership. During my attempts to get answers, I was placed on hold repeatedly, disconnected from calls, and my requests for copies of the documents were ignored. To make matters worse, I live several hours away from this dealership and cannot simply show up in person. I still do not know whether the vehicle connected to this loan is still on their lot or if someone has already taken possession of it. Opening a loan of this size in someone's name without authorization is extremely serious. At this point, the lack of communication and refusal to provide documentation only raises more concerns. I've purchased two vehicles from this dealership, and while the sales department has always been great to work with, the service department has consistently fallen short. My first car was a lemon and required three separate trips for repairs. The second vehicle was certified used, but getting a second key made was a hassle--I left multiple voicemails with no response and had to visit in person just to get help. Thankfully, the gentleman who assisted me then was helpful, and I eventually received the key after several months. Most recently, I called to have a second key made for another vehicle and was met with rude and dismissive service. I understand that shops get busy, but this is the third poor experience I've had with the service department. This place WAY overcharged us for a simple repair, charged us extra ($60) for disposal items to keep the hood open and didn't tell us until we were checking out. The hood is designed to stay open and the items weren't even necessary, in our opinion. Plus, they may have even taken our floor mats because after the repair, the floor mats were mysteriously gone (they claim they can't find them...curious). All they needed to do was reconnect a disconnected hose for the washer fluid. Yet we're out almost $300 and missing floor mats too. They had the audacity to try to upsell us wiper blades and a cabin filter that would've put our total up to almost $500. I looked it up later and the exact repair they did shouldn't have cost us more than $75, yet they charged almost $300 for labor and unnecessary items we didn't even ask for. Unless you want to throw your money away, don't bring your vehicle here for maintenance or repairs! Find an independent, honest mechanic and save yourself literally hundreds of dollars. read more

I am deeply dissatisfied with the service I received at your establishment for my vehicle. Despite having it in your shop for ten days, I was informed that no work had been performed. The service advisor, Cheyanne, repeatedly responded with the phrase "I don't know." I requested that a manager be consulted, but was informed that one was not available. I brought my truck in for routine oil change and recall inspection at the end of January. Upon pickup, I was advised that I would be contacted when the necessary parts arrived and to return for service. I was not notified of this development and contacted service on Friday, February 28th, to confirm that the parts had arrived. I verified that my name was on the parts and that they were designated for my vehicle. I also received a letter in the mail containing a paper with a special part number attached. I scheduled service for the following Monday, March 3rd, for routine maintenance, recalls, and warranty work. I was advised to leave the vehicle for two to three days and to be contacted for pickup. However, I did not receive any form of communication throughout the process. On the following Friday, March 7th, I contacted service to inquire about the status of my service. I was informed that you were awaiting a part for my radio, which would arrive on Monday, March 10th. The actual radio would be delivered at the end of March, but I would be able to take the vehicle for service on Monday or Tuesday once the radio is installed and all necessary repairs have been completed. After waiting four days without any contact, I reached out to inquire about the status of my vehicle. I was informed that she was unaware of the situation and would provide an update. Surprisingly, she reached out and stated that the vehicle was ready for pickup. I have the voicemail from her confirming this. Upon arriving at the pickup location, I was informed that an hour was required for an oil change. I questioned why the oil change had not been performed when the vehicle had been sitting there for ten days. She responded with an "I don't know." I then inquired about any other maintenance performed on the vehicle during its ten-day stay. She stated that a diagnostic test had been conducted. The only significant work performed was an oil change at the time of pickup. When asked specifically about the nature of the work done, she admitted that they were unaware of the details. They stated that the technician was also unfamiliar with the repairs. This lack of transparency raised concerns about the thoroughness of the maintenance performed on my vehicle. To add insult to injury, she informed me that the recall parts had been ordered. However, these parts were supposed to have been present at the time of drop off. The only way to reach this so called finance department is to go in person and literally catch them off guard. This has happened so many times. It's sad. Took my truck in here this morning. got a text message around 11am saying truck not done yet. Couldn't reach service advisor until almost 4pm. Just got off the phone with John service advisor he quoted me $1590 for my speed sensor and coolant bottle. The parts are are around $220 together. Where is the rest of the money coming from when it only takes 20 minutes to replace a sensor and maybe and hour or 2 for the coolant bottle. This place is a rip off. I will take my truck somewhere else to get fixed. Do your research of what needs to be done before you leave it to this place to fix it. Glad I did. read more

I had to leave and not get the oil changed due to work. An "Express Oil Change" should not take more than about 30 min with appointments. I took my 2019 Ram 3500 in for warranty work on a transmission that was slipping and overheating.For two and half weeks they said nothing was wrong with it .they finally let the transmission specialist look at it after I called every day to insist there really was something wrong with it.when the transmission tech finally agreed it was broken ,it took another two and half weeks to fix it.A five hour job took 5 weeks to complete.I highly recommend against anyone doing any business with this company! read more

I am not sure if this should be two separate ratings or one, so I will combine them. while on a drive, my check engine light came on. I took it to Autozone for a quick scan and upon seeing the results, I decided to take it to a dealer. The codes were: P0046, P003A, U010C, P00AF. The first dealership (the only other dealer in town) couldn't get it in for 8 days, so I called Frontier Dodge. They said they could get to it the next day. So, I left my truck (2500 Ram Cummins) with them and agreed that there would be a $175 diagnostic fee. I was told it might need a new DPF, but they would have to investigate further. Ok, fair enough. The next day, I get a call from John Sanchez, their service writer, with good news. No active codes and there is no indication of a problem. So, I try to pay, but there is no charge. Wow, thanks! Two miles from the dealership, I gun it (my codes were for actuator, DPF, turbo) to check it out and I get all the power I would expect. As I take my foot off the pedal, the check engine light returns. :( So I turn around and head back to the dealership. John scans the truck on the spot. It is now showing active codes. He indicates that it may need a turbo actuator or possibly even a new turbo assembly, but will let me know after further testing. A few days later,I get a call from John who explains that it needs a new actuator. He says it will be about $4800. I tell him that I need to think about how to proceed because that is a lot of money (two kids in college and trying to build a house). He further states that they don't have the part and it may take a bit of time to get one into the dealership. I ask John for the quote so I can see what went into the estimate. He had said the part was $1900, and I was confused about how the total got to $4800. He stated that the balance was for gaskets, o-rings....and labor. So, I call a friend who works at a dealership in another state. He says he has a couple actuators in stock and he will sell me one for $1200+tax. I asked him if $4800 seemed high and he said he didn't know but would go chat with the diesel tech in the shop. The tech said that the part comes with the necessary gaskets and they normally bill 4 hours for the job. Wow! Not what I expected. Frontiers shop rate is $175/hour, so $1900 (The price Frontier would charge for the part) and 4 hours of labor, it should come to about $2600 out the door. I decided to call the other dealership in town now that the diagnostics were complete and ask them for an estimate. They said $1600 for the part plus 2 hours labor. which I am guessing would be $1950. They also indicated it might take a while to get the part in. Aftersome looking around on the web, I found what I believe to be a very good aftermarket part that many shops use for this problem. It was $895 and took three weeks to get. Out of pocket cost: $895 + about $60 for tools at the auto parts store and 3 gallons of coolant. So, for under $1100 I am back running again. My main question is with the trustworthiness of Frontier Dodge. I need to know that I can trust the place that will work on my cars. The quote was vague about the various components. Was this done to mask what appears to be a HUGE overcharge? I don't know. Mr. Sanchez was quite polite and helpful. My recommendation would be for anyone doing business with dealerships to take their estimates to other places to see if it is reasonable and close to what they would charge. I would never have checked if it hadn't been for my out of state buddy who said it sounded like it might be a bit high. Had he not checked with the diesel tech, I would have probably just added a $5000 charge to the VISA and Christmas would have been far less enjoyable. One last item. I took my truck to Firestone for new tires and an alignment. They started the alignment and then brought the truck down off the lift. They showed me a recall that had to do with the tie rod turnbuckle being welded. They showed me the wled and told me I would have to go to the dealer to address this issue. The recall has been around for a while. I was told by a buddy who worked in the service department for Dodge a few years back, that they cannot allow a vehicle with a recall to leave the dealership if it is in for service without addressing the recall issue. Frontier Dodge has some nice people, but I have some serious concerns about their professionalism and integrity. read more

I first tried to resolve this issue directly with Frontier Dodge. I left 2 msgs for the service manager and 3 msgs with the GM. I received 0 return phone calls. My son is a new student at Texas Tech. He owns his own car and takes care of maintenance/repairs, and I have never had to intervene for him before. Week of 10/12 - Brought in 2009 Dodge Charger with a code that indicated a fuel sensor issue; Dealership evaluated and told him he needed to replace both fuel pumps - $1,200.00 David gave green light Dealership kept the car for several days, and when my son called to check if the car was ready he was told that dealership had to order parts and it would be around 11/4 before they came in. Wouldn't let him have the car back; Didn't offer a vehicle; No apology Can you be without your vehicle for 3 weeks? Thursday 10/29 - text from son saying that he had just talked to someone at the dealership who told him that the parts would not be in until 11/9. At that point, I lost my patience and called the service manager. I got Billy who said the service manager, Andrew, was in a meeting. I explained the situation and was told that the car was in fact ready. He offered me a student discount "for our inconvenience" which should have been applied anyway as David is in fact a student. At the end of the conversation, I once again reminded Billy that I wanted a call back from the service manager. He took my number and said he would give it to Andrew. Monday 11/2 - no return phone; called and left Andrew a message Wednesday 11/4 - no return phone call; called the GM, Rick Harrison - lft msg Friday 11/6 - no return phone call; 2nd call to GM Rick Harrison left msg Following week - one last phone letting them know I was trying to handle this inhouse before I posted a bad review and contacted the owner. No response, When my son picked up the car, they gave him a laundry list of other repairs that needed to be done. When he returned home, he had our mechanic take a look. They said they did NOT need to be done. The exact language they used about the recommendations is omitted. My perception is that this dealership tried to take advantage of a college student and left him without a vehicle unnecessarily for over 3 weeks. We could have worked this all out over the phone had the dealership had the courtesy to return a customer's phone call. read more

Told me they fixed my problem on a brand new 2500 Ram and when I broke down in New Mexico, another dealer told me that what frontier had supposedly fixed, they had made worse by bending all the pins in a pigtail. My Durango was taken in with what we thought was a sensor issue, the temp was going up to hot, but there was no steam, no indication that it was truly overheating. No leaking etc. This poorly run facility had the Durango for 3 days, and did not work on it until the 3rd day, and at the end of that day no doubt. We had to keep calling to get updates, and we were told to go pick it up at 3:00pm. We arrived at that time, the car still was not done. We waited an additional hour, only for them to tell us that they do not know what is wrong with the vehicle, they not only charged me 250.00 for nothing, but they actually made a very large leak in the coolant. I barely got this vehicle home as it kept trying to stall, which it had not done when we took it to them. NEVER trust your car to these incompetent mechanics. No one apologized for not being able to fix it, nor did they apologize for having to charge us. Good customer service would have been to not charge us since they did not fix or know what the issue is. Oh and the answers from the dealership are generic and empty. Was told there was no more room in the door to put tires on my truck. So disappointed. Also passed inspection with the rear park sensor not working. Still refuse to make it right. I know most salesmen are liars, but this topped it off for me! I went to Spirit to get a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We already knew what we were approved for but couldn't find a Jeep that we liked so we went to their "partner dealership" Frontier. We had visited a few days earlier when my fiancé wanted to trade his mustang that he also bought at Frontier. They let us know that he would be almost 7K in negative equity, but they found a deal to trade him out of that and into a USED 2019 Dodge Ram. FFWD to the Jeep deal. Of course they went way to low on my trade in, but I as well was going to be 5K upside down. Instead of going with a new Jeep I decided I would get a used. (To lower my monthly payments and prevent the depreciation costs of buying brand new again) The salesman kept running next door to speak to the manager because he kept telling him that there was no way they could do a used because of the negative equity. I asked him how we were able to do the Mustang and they kept coming up with lie after lie. I asked to speak to the manager and he sends the salesman back out to lie again. The manager refused to come out and speak to us. They also repeatedly said that Spirit had no idea what they were talking about because it wasn't possible to get a used vehicle. These people will low ball you on your trade in, lie to you to get a sale, increase your interest rates, and refuse to get you into something you can afford. If you want a honest Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler house, I'd look elsewhere. read more

The worst customer service. They will not honor there word on anything. Make sure everything is in writing. Service department will not ever call you back. General Manager (Rick Harrison) will only act on contract agreements that are signed at time of closing, and will deny anything that his sales team does in wrong doing. The Salesman (Andrew Solis) and Finance Manager will tell you whatever they think you want to hear to make a sale, Even if it is a flat out lie. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP! 2 months later.... still waiting on service department to fix my vehicle. We had to have our Dodge Ram 2500 repaired. A Check Engine light kept coming on and it had to do with the Turbo. We had a Mopar bumper to bumper warranty so it did not cost us anything but the $100 deductible. It was in the shop 2 weeks because the Mopar Warranty company inspector had to come and take pictures and approve the repair so that is what took so much time. However, Kristian the service rep, kept us informed as to what was going on with texts and phone calls. The service rep was exceptional in updating us as to what was going on and why it was taking so long. Once it was approved by the inspector, the repair did not take long to complete. Frontier Dodge is friendly and efficient and we will use them again. read more

Had to get key fob replaced. Didn't have to wait long once they got a key fob. But that was after they sold the ONLY one they had left, after promising to me over the phone that they would hold that one for me. So i had to wait 2 days longer than expected and still had to pay the full (ridiculously high) price of $416 for the key fob, and was late getting to my college classes due to this. They were friendly and kind and got things done. Even got the recall notice, serviced while it was there. If they had kept their word about "holding that key fob" for me until the next day or if they had cut me some kind of discount on it, then i might could have rated them higher. But if people don't keep their word, makes it had to trust them, even if they do good in other areas. This was the worst car buying experience we have ever had with Alex M. and the rest of the team getting the new vehicle ready. Highly recommend going outside of Lubbock if you are looking for a brand new Jeep/vehicle . We had intimate dealings with the General Manager and Sales Manager with a new Jeep.... take your business anywhere else but here. We visited Frontier Dodge on Labor Day weekend after we had a terrible experience with a salesman at Alderson Mercedes Benz. We honestly weren't even looking to purchase a truck and hadn't done any research on them prior to our visit, but we popped in just to take a look. Dmitri greeted us at the entrance and asked how we were doing and if he could show us anything in particular. We mentioned we were possibly interested in looking at the Dodge Ram 1500. He immediately took us over and started showing us what he had on the lot. We looked around some and he took us out for a test drive and showed us the features on the truck. He was super funny and courteous and was just easy to get along with! He was NOTHING like the annoying sales person we dealt with earlier in the day, and it was a breath of fresh air. Long story short after we got back- we told Dmitri we enjoyed the truck, but that we were going to go test drive some other trucks in the next few days just to compare them and get some information on them, and that we would come back another day to see him. He insisted that he could make us an awesome deal on the #1 truck in the US, and he wasn't wrong. He made it so easy and seamless. There was no hassling or trickery involved, and he just went completely out of his way to make us a deal that we couldn't refuse. He went above and beyond, and made sure that our car shopping experience was effortless and painless. It was actually enjoyable for once, rather than annoying and stressful. Logun was also super friendly and helpful, and took care of the paperwork as fast as he could. These 2 guys were awesome, and really are vital assets to the Frontier Dodge dealership. They took away the stress of car buying, and they stayed late to take care of our needs. We had a few things that needed attention on the truck (ex: one of the key fabs wasn't working properly, and there was also a crack in the rear taillight) but Dmitri took care of it immediately, with no questions asked, and had us ready to go in no time. That is true customer service! We will definitely recommend friends and family to Frontier Dodge and to Dmitri and Logun in the future. I recently purchased a 2021 2500 GMC Denali. This was by far the worse vehicle purchase experience I ever had. So after the used car manager tells I needed to put in an application with them in order to get a better deal that day, he then tells me it can't be done till Monday. I told them I would be using my bank and my credit was basically ran for no reason. Come Monday the salesman says you need to go through your bank but you can't get the deal we offered you on Saturday since you didn't get it then. After telling him absolutely not he messages me back and says ok we will do it for the amount we agreed on Saturday. So after paying $90,000 for a used truck, I never would have thought the things that would come after would happen to us. So the vehicle was purchased at night and we never got the chance to do a complete walk through of the vehicle and was never asked. After taking it home I soon realized that there were issues with the truck that the dealership said could not be fixed do to it being sold as is. For starters the side mirrors would not fold correctly and was seen messing up by a service consultant for Frontier Dodge. There was so much leaked oil underneath the bed of the truck that was very concerning, and to top it off several huge dints and a scratches that will need to be fixed. Lastly the salesman tells me nothing will be done about the vehicle, and basically told me it's my fault I didn't look it over before purchasing it. He proceeded to tell me the vehicle was detailed and that was a lie also. There was trash in the center console, the windows were still dirty, and the sticker was still on the rear window so I know it was not cleaned. I will never recommend anyone to this dealership nor will I NEVER do business here again. read more
