Love this store now that they have resized its even better. The staff is very friendly and the guys in the back where all the hardware counter is man let me tell you they really know they're stuff! The customer service here is outstanding! The big box stores have too few employees that possess knowledge of the subject at hand, or just don't have the staff. I went to Ferguson's plumbing and they had little interest in helping me solve my problem. I went to Mead's and was lucky to have Moe help me out. I had not been to Meads in quite a few years. Today, I needed some stove bolts, small washers and some nuts that will sorta lock onto the bolts when you tighten them. Got them before at Meads. Wow, store has been quite enlarged, organizing is wow, again, GRRREAT. Parking lot has been wow, again, beautifully paved. Meads still has a Parts Counter, where an employee will assist you, he got what I needed, super-fast. Yep, I know Meads is a bit out of the way, I drove from Tropicana and Eastern. But the drive is worth it. If you have hardware needs, or are a novice DIY person, give Meads a try. Being able to speak with an experienced hardware guy, RIGHT AWAY, is soooo helpful. Yes, I like Lowe's and Home Depot, too, but the time saved by shopping Meads, wow again. read more

Wooooow. This place is amazing. I'm not into hardware stores or anything. No weird fetish. Don't worry. Just shocked that this place. I haven't seen a real hardware store since I was a kid in the 70's. Sadly, I thought Home Depot put them all out of business. So happy these guys made it. Something I found cool. They are Open 7 days a week = WHAT! Super huge selection of plumbing and hardware. Nothing that I give a shit about but impressive nonetheless. No joke! Very friendly, very helpful staff. Prices seem very reasonable for this stuff (again, it's not my bag baby). If your a mans man who likes hardware and shit like this, this is the place. In an attempt to fix my old bathtub faucet/handles, I stopped by the store for the first time today. Even though we had no luck (seems that the part I'm looking for is out of stock and virtually impossible to find nowadays), the people working there were helpful, informative, knowledgeable, and respectful. And, since this sadly is something that stands out even today, I never once felt like the two men ( both middle aged) working with me even noticed that I'm a female and that's awesome. They didn't talk to me like I'm less than anybody else who shops there. Thanks to Meads for a super positive experience. I'll definitely be back. read more

AMAZING!!! These guys are the absolute best!! While in Vegas someone attempted to steal my catalytic converter from my car, luckily they were caught mid-attempt and left the converter on the ground, however they took off with the nuts needing to put it back on. After two auto parts stores with no luck we were advised to head here, within 2 seconds of looking at my converter the gentleman helping us was cracking jokes to ease our minds and knew exactly what we needed, we were in and out of the store with smiles on our faces after a stressful morning. My husband and I joked he was like Santa Clause and not for covid we would have hugged him. If I know anyone needing help in Vegas I all send them over here!! read more

This place has been here as long as I've lived in Vegas... 30+ years! They literally have EVERYTHING you'd need for home improvement or repairs in that old building - and know where everything is too! We have recently moved and needed a new spout for a tub along with a fan motor for the hall bath - showed a picture or two and got directed to where the parts needed were located in the store - and I bought a yard hat for my man too for half the price of what I was going to spend at Star Nursery the day before! I can't say that the parts were competitive, because I didn't even bother to do any comparison shopping - I just went to Meads because I knew all I needed to do was show them the pictures and I'd be taken care of... they didn't disappoint me! Worth the drive to get what I wanted & out of there within 15 mins! read more

Had a plumbing issue where we had a faucet from Chicago Faucets and an eyewash attachment from Bradley. The threading on the adapters weren't jiving with each other. I get advised that this place always has an answer to problems dealing with mismatching/odd thread patterns. If they don't have the right threading adapter, they can combine a few things to get what you need. The lady behind the counter seemed like she already knew what we wanted before even giving her the parts that needed to be connected. She knew exactly where to look to find the simple connector that we needed. Very professional and speedy was the type of service we got from this hardware store. So I'm not really the type that frequents hardware stores (despite the fact that I'm the current duchess of a Lowe's that I frequent near my home). I go to places like this with my boyfriend, who makes me. From a female perspective, I liked that this store was open on Saturday and that it had the strange size of bolt my beloved was looking for (apparently a very rare find in a big box hardware store like Lowe's and Home Depot). Not only that, it ran about $4 cheaper than the price of the 3 bolts we were looking to purchase at those other stores and he got a higher quality product. read more

Counter person complete turn off! Unpleasant and gave me bad information. Almost as if she didn't want to sell me anything. I needed a copy of a car key that I tried to get done at Lowes but they only had chipped keys at $75 a pop. They recommended I try Meads. I go there, give the lady the info she looks it up and says "it's a service key", sits back and looks at me. I answer "what..." and before I can finish my sentence she says "it's a service key it won't work in your car". Now I just left Lowes and they looked up the same exact key and said it was not a service key. So I ask her how much and figure I'll put the $3.75 on Lowes info and had her make one anyway. I pay and as she hands me the receipt she says " don't keep trying it if it doesn't work, I don't want you to ruin your ignition". Guess what? it worked! So I go back in to have another made. One guy in line ahead of me. The same counter person. I tell her it worked and I'd like another. Now there are three customers behind me. She helps all three before another employee comes to cut my key. He ask her the blank model number and repeats the wrong number back to her, she corrects him. I pay for the key , go to start the car, it doesn't work. Had she been pleasant from the start I would shop there again. I would prefer to support a locale business than a behemoth like Lowes. But the service at the Lowes on Nellis crushes Meads. I'll put the same effort the counter person put into being pleasant into going to Meads. read more

Not happy! I've been a customer of Mead Hardware for as long as I remember. One would think that they would demonstrate their appreciation of a longtime customer's loyalty. But that's not the case. The Inside Sales manager Chris Brown gave me his word that he would accept a return of a motor if it failed. He took back the first motor but not the second motor. Both motor proved faulty. Here is my story. On the day of July 14 2014 I went to the store located on E Lake Mead BLVD looking for an electric Fan Motor for a portable swamp cooler. The fan Motor that was sold to me failed that very day. I returned that motor to that location and asked for a refund. The counter clerk was in the process of making that refund when the inside sales manager Chris Brown intervened and asked me if I would try another motor; I agreed to take the second motor. Chris Brown pointed out that they normally charge a 20% restock fee but he will give me a refund if the motor failed. He also said he planned on sending all of those motors back. The new motor failed. On July 18, 2014 I returned that motor to Mead Hardware only to be refused a refund. Chris Brown immediately refused to accept the terms of his offer to fully refund the motor. I reminded him that he gave me his word that he would refund me if this second motor failed. He pointed out to me a line on the receipt that says "Replaced once. No return on second motor." I reminded Chris that instead of a refund that day, I would try a different motor and if it failed he would then refund my money. He sighted that he ran that same motor for a week and it did not fail. My complaint is that it failed within minutes of my installation. I have since installed a different motor that has not failed after hours of continuous use in the extreme heat of the day. Before leaving the store I said to Chris, honorable me do honorable deeds. You failed to honor your word. Now you leave me no choices but to file a complaint with the better business bureau and on your website. Chris demanded with authority that I leave the store and not to ever come back. For a $99.00 return he lost a customer that has spent hundreds over the years. This was a poor way to handle this problem, especially with a longtime customer. And one who through my employment has contact's with city state and county employee to the tune of 3000 plus members. read more
