The centre, which is equidistant from nearby Sheffield and Rotherham, occupies a total site area of 78 acres (yes, I've been doing some research). Contained within this area are over 12000 free car-parking spaces, a purpose built ring road and a major public transport interchange. As a resident of nearby Rotherham, the centre is literally only five minutes away and consequently, I've been there hundreds of times before. The main reasons for my visiting the centre is that it's (more or less) on my way home from work and all of the shops (and banks) usually shut at 8:00 p.m (Mon to Wed), 9:00 p.m (Thur to Fri), 7:00 p.m (Sat) and 5:00 p.m (Sun) hence, it's ideal for me. However, lets say that most people could handle driving for about an hour in order to get to the place. Taking this drivetime into account, the following major towns and cities are all included within this radius; Leeds, Manchester, Hull, Nottingham, Leicester, Sheffield, Barnsley, Wakefield, Doncaster and Rotherham. If you don't fancy driving you could always get a train, coach or bus as each of these regularly visit the centre. More importantly, you'll reduce any potential road congestion and make it a bit easier for me. read more

A great big shopping mall. Meadowhall is located in Sheffield and is easily accesable via the M1 motorway, or alternatively take a train into Sheffield and link up to Meadwohall by tram from the city centre. As you would expect from any modern shopping complex such as this there are a plethora of shops for you to choose from. As they are all located in one place it makes it easier to try and get round everywhere you need in one day, plus as it is under one roof there is not too much worry about the weather! There is a large food court in here serving a whole host of different food types and so when your legs start to get weary and arms tired from holding the bags you can stop off to get your breathe. I suppose being a bloke and not to fussed about going shopping, unless I really really have to, then somewhere like this is good in the build up to Christmas. Get in, get all the presents sorted in a few hours and then get out! But beware when it does get towards Christmas time then the crowds will descend in large numbers, even in the recession I would think this will be the case. read more

meadowhall, or meadowhell as it is sometimes refered to by locals is one of the largest indoor shopping complexes in the country and plays host to a large range of shops with everything from argos to marks and spence the place has somewhere for everywhere, it even has a smaller arcade within its walls called the lanes which plays host to all kinds of shops, form model railway shops, science fiction shops, and gothic cloathing shops. it also boast a large food court with plenty of seating and its rare that you wont be able to find somewhere to sit down and eat. with benchs throughout the malls to sit down and take a break while you eat your snack or have a drink from one of the many convieniantly placed stalls this place has everything you could want. including a cinema with all the latest releases and its atteched directly to the bus interchange and railway station meaning you can still use it ideal if you dont live locally. only downside isit can be busy at peak times and its worse as it gets closer to christmass read more

Meadowhall has plenty to offer under one roof. Shops of which most are 'flagship' so offer more stock than town centre shops, small boutiques in 'The Lanes' for something different, cinema, kids play area, the Food Court and Free Parking. Excellent access by road, rail or bus having it's own travel centre helps and always lots of people around to help with bus/train times. Meadowhall is clean and well presented with lots of toilets including baby change and disabled access toilets as well. Weekends are often very busy and it's manic at Christmas (but we expect that anyway) Plenty of Mother and Children parking as well as disabled and they have also introduced a Car Valeting service as well which is great (shop whilst the car is being cleaned). read more

Absolutely amazing place to shop, you most definitely won't be let down for choice! Plenty of shops and all in the one place. You'll be spoilt for choice with where to eat, as there are so many different restaurants to choose from such as mcdonalds,kfc,pizza hut,frankie&bennies,chinese ones,even french!etc. The onvly bad things is sometimes its so packed there's no where to sit and eat your food. So you have to stand until theres a vacancy. Some of the prices tend to be a little higher than the same stores elsewhere. Also it's such a huge place that you'll have no choice but to sit down a few times as your feet will be in so much pain from all the walking and it's very easy to get lost. But i do highly recommend shopping there. read more

Everyone in the region knows of Meadowhall and I dare say most have visited. Its serves its purpose well in that it has many shops and some good variety there too. I believe it lacks some leisure activity though. Alot of similar centres have some kind of Leisure activity along side the centre, but Meadowhall doesnt, other than the cinema (which is superb now its been refurbished) there is very little on offer. There are some new restaraunts opening up in what was the old arcade, Zizzi are now there I believe. Its worth a visit for most women, men normally avoid the place. Oh and I piece of advice dont go on Saturdays or in November, December and January unless its absolutely necessary. The place is a nightmare.. read more

It is nice to have a lot of High Street shops under one roof but it really doesn't have anything more to offer than Sheffield City Centre. I much prefer to do my shopping in the city centre now as they always have stuff going on and they have the independent shops in the Devonshire Quarter. It's impossible to nip in and out of Meadowhall as it is always very busy and hellish-hence it's Meadow-Hell tag. The Oasis food court is nice enough but only if you like fast food. The cinema upstairs is really expensive. It is good though to be able to shop up until 10 pm at night and transport there from the city centre is generally good and regular. It is what you can expect from a mall really, you either love em or hate em! read more

Meadowhall (or meadowhell) is a place you either love or hate. Meadowhall is a vast place wth various shops, but is well laid out so its not easy to get lost. There are shops to suit all tastes and desires, there is also the oasis which is packed with food and drink outlets. Upstairs in the oasis is a Vue cinema (very expensive so i can't comment on it) and an arcade which are great if you get bored of shopping! There are almost always parking spaces available, though you may have to look closely to find one occasionally. The only major downside is how full it can get during busy periods (thus being nicknamed meadowhell). Definatley the place to go to do any shopping in sheffield though. read more

A good place to go and shop and spend your money. A variety of shops to accommodate all needs! Plenty of clothes shops for men and women, and kids places too. Shops too to buy household items and food, dvds and games to sports equipment and teddy bears! Legs getting tired from all the walking round the sales? Check out the oasis for a wide variety of food places. McDonald's and KFC to pizzas and fish and chips, whatever you fancy you will find it! There is also a cinema situated on the top level of the arcade. Although not as big as some places, you can get in and get a good view with no hassle and little queues. Huge out of town shopping centre, on two large floors, plenty of lifts and escalators . Huge array of shops plus a good selection of smaller shops. Can get really busy especially leading up to christmas than again in the january sales , and also the air conditioning dosen,t seem to work that well so can get abit hot and stuffy, remember a couple of yearsago my daughter fainting lol. Massive food court and good choice of grub macdonalds, pasty king, fish and chips etc etc, plenty of seating and giant tv screen to keep you entertained whilst enjoying your food. All in all this makes a good afternoon out and especially if its miserable weather outside all the shops under one roof. read more

Meadowhall is a large shopping centre on the outskirts of Sheffield next to the M1 motorway. It's location is ideal, with good road, rail, bus and tram connections to South Yorkshire and beyond. Parking is free. All of the usual chains of shops can be found in the centre's two floors, along with a number of smaller independent stores and specialist shops, a huge food hall with all the usual fast food outlets (e.g. Mcdonalds, Pizza Hut) or restuarants and a multiplex cinema. At weekends, especially leading up to Christmas, Meadowhall can get very busy, and getting parked up can be difficult. If you like to shop it's a must visit. read more

The land of shoppertunity. Or so they say. Meadowhall is a good place to shop for designer clothes, usually mall shops like Claires and nick-nacks. However be prepared for lots of crowds. The mall itself offers many reasons why you should give it your business. 1) Traveling events. This weekend Wii is showing off their wares and it gives people a chance to try out their latest games. 2) Electric car charging. Charge your electric car while shopping 3) Food court. It sounds simple, but it's nice to have. Also VUE cinemas has recently remodeled their theater and now offers two screens with sofas and other alternative seating. read more

If you are not a fan of shopping, then this is Meadowhell. To shopping addicts like myself its Meadowheaven! It's so convenient to shop here and you could easily spend a whole day, wallet permitting! There is a vast choice of designer and high street shops, and independent stalls down at the Lanes. Large food court for fast food, or upstairs are restaurants. There really is something for everyone! You can even get your car valeted while you shop! There is a pub, and a cinema, so it is a brilliant day out. I love it because everything us under one roof - no stressing about where shops are, or what the weather will be like! read more

Meadowhall is a large shopping is a large shopping centre located just off the M1. It has good public transport links and loads of free parking. There's a great range of shops, designer and high street and the good range of restaurants and the food court. It does get very busy in the run up to Christmas so best to avoid the weekends, but is open late every night. They usually have an outdoor ice rink for the children in the run up to Christmas, this tends to be outside near the entrnace to the food court and is great for the kids. In theory, Meadowhall is a wonderful shopping centre as it has almost every shop you could possibly imagine. The only problem is it's so busy! Understandable but so annoying. If you go during a week day or late at night it's not so bad, but avoid at all costs on weekends! It is a nightmare, especially with young children as there are so many people rushing around and nobody seems to pay any attention. If you can deal with the crowds then it is a good place to go - plenty of shops and a huge food court so lots of choice. read more

Meadowhall is a great place to go when it is windy and rainy outside and you want to do some shopping. The best time to go is early evening, as it is open till late, it is much quieter then and a much more enjoyable experience overall! There is a good selection of shops including all the big high street names- and there is also a huge Primark which is much better than the one in the city centre. Meadowhall or Meadowhell - sometimes I'm not too sure!!! I would never go when it's busy - weekends are shocking especially before Christmas - but evenings tend to be better and if you do want to go for christmas shopping take advantage of the late night opening, it's normally open until 10pm and it's much quieter later on. A huge place with lots to offer. Free parking which is always a bonus. Apart from the shops there is a cinema and food court, there are plenty of restaurants and fast food places to choose from, something to suit all tastes. There is a good variety of shops although it is not as good as the trafford centre in manchester which is a shame, but the potential is there. For visitors who dont drive there is a bus station, train and tram stop so its easy to get to for everyone read more

Good place. plenty of shops, cinema and places to eat. Mostly busy. Theres a load of shops, too many to mention but there is a wide variety of stuff and serves well for what everyone needs. Staff in there are usually friendly and helpful, but again, there is too many different areas to name. The cinema is owned by Vue, and there is different eating places like McD's, Kfc, Pizza hut. etc. Definately lucky to have somewhere like this close to home. read more
