The store being on Haymarket perhaps isn't the best location within the city centre, as it is a stop on the tram or a good 5-10 minute walk from the rest of the city's main shopping areas including The Moor and Fargate, the whole area seems a little rough including the nearby Hilton Sheffield - which of course lowers the overall feel of the store as it feels like the backstreets of a third world country rather than a city centre of the largest and main town of the South Yorkshire region. The staff didn't seem too friendly or helpful - the overall product range was okay but again the layout was confusing including one way in one way out forcing you to buy something - again this is a traditional method Wilko use in many of their stores but surely this adds extra inconvenience to customers just coming in perhaps to use the Cafe (at its' limited hours) or the Post Office who obviously have no need to wait at the crowded checkouts? Not in the best location in Sheffield but still central nonetheless, also let down by its' store layout and perhaps offering too much than it is able to cope with - proof of this is closing many facilities early or having different timings which don't seem to work out. 2*

There are one or two IKEAS in each big city around the UK and the World. It is very reasonably priced and they are usually very up to date with everything they sell. They also have a cafe in each store which has very reasonably priced breakfast and scandinavian style foods. They also have the IKEA family card where you can get discount on Breakfasts,Complimentary Tea and Coffee and great benefits for this great company. The Ashton IKEA is very easy to get to with great motorway links and a direct tram from the city centre of Manchester.

The man with the moustache who served us was really friendly and welcoming. All of the furniture is really great quality - fantastic solid oak woods - and we were really surprised at how cheap it was. It was so easy to find everything we needed - the shop is open plan with a few showrooms upstairs. Since last year, we've returned for new carpets, pillows, all sorts. Although it's called the Carpet Warehouse they sell beds, furniture, pillows, mattresses, all sorts of stuff for the home. I always recommend the Carpet Warehouse to my friends - it's fab.

What is different is that most clothes stores are independent business selling unique fashion items. This store sells high quality clothing for woman and child. There is no reason not to shop here, as you are going to save yourself loads of money and the money is cheap too.

Arkwrights Emporium has all the old nostalgic stuff people love..great for gifts..including Gollies. Beatles stuff Marilyn Monroe, Laurel and Hardy.
