My mother was diagnosed with intestinal cancer in March 2015 and after surgery was taken to the…read morevillage for recovery. She had previously been at Manor Care but they refused to take her back. The staff at the Village graciously agreed to admit her as a long term patient and she remained there for eight months before passing away. I was there almost every week during this time period. Mom was well taken care of even though she could no longer get up from the bed. I never once found her unclean or unkempt and her bed was always fresh and clean. I am really thankful to the Village staff for taking such good care of her for her stay there. I could never imaging finding a better place for her and my wife and I often joked about how we would like to stay there ourselves. To all the staff, Thank you.

My mom asked her for water and the Hispanic lady told a student instead. Please people like her need to stop treating people like that. She was treating them like slaves. My mom said she's scared of her too, she doesn't like how she is so aggressive. Please do better.

Supervisor or only RN on each station tried to ignore you if you had questions . Had to be there daily and do a lot of complaining to get anything done for my family. Administration of course was nice since they don't want complaints. Try and stay away from this place if possible if not please stay on top of your family or it's bad patient care from start to finish

Desert Hills Memory Care Center We visited several…read moreresidential care facilities before entrusting our mother to Desert Hills Memory Care Center, which was recommended by the family of a resident. Gratefully, there was no institiutional appearance to turn us away. Instead an airy bright, cheerful, resort-like ambiance greeted us. Mature trees swaying in the light breeze, potted plants, a relaxed, cozy and inviting guest services desk, with a platter of fresh baked cookies on the counter. We were immediatley put at ease. Appearance versus staff: it was the people! Cheerful, helpful, always willing to serve. We chose this facility for those reasons. Its been 2 1/2 years now and Mother's laundry is expertly done, her clothing accounted for and returned to her-not mixed or lost in with the general populous. Her room is always clean, housekeeping done on a weekly basis. The food is appetizingly served and a nutritious diet followed. Mother has been surrounded by her own belongings and furniture, in a beautiful private room with a view. All the common areas shine, very inviting. From the very beginning, the staff set out to familiarize themselves with mother's medical/physical condition, wants and needs and have unfailingly sought to meet these. She is catered to!! The work is hard but staff make it seems effortless and always with a smile. Mother has six children, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a sister and brother, nieces and nephews, thus many, many visitros. It is a great relief that all concerns are addressed immediately. We have received nothing but positive feedback. When asked mother always answers, "They can't do enough for me." From the very beginning Desert Hills staff has gone out of its way to make mother, family and friends feel welcome, any time, all the time. Our family is confident mother is safe, secure and very well cared for at Desert Hills.

I was sent to a small waiting room I had 4 falls was very disoriented after two words I'd forget…read morewhat I was saying. I needed to use the restroom and although there were medical staff doing nothing and standing right there looking at me, no one would help me all I needed was a wheelchair. That went on for seven hours. After this happening, a tech was supposed to take me in for an MRI. He didn't want to do it. I could hear him trying to get others to do it or to come with him. ( I'm pretty little and not that difficult to deal with ) I heard someone saying "Sharon likes falling down" and others laughing ( maybe because I had been in for falling before ? )Due to my thought process this was a really scary time for me. Between the staff in the waiting room the tech for the MRI and the other staff thinking my falls were something to be laughed about they were very unkind and unprofessional. I do have to say that the Doctors were always great. And once I was taken up to the 6th floor I have nothing but good to say the Doctors Nurses CNA's everyone I encountered were always professional kind and caring.

The case manager does not know anything and haven't been able to help. I called to have my mom changed and waited over 30 min before asking again. The nursing staff is very rude and not helpful. No one wants to do their job here and I have to come everyday to make sure they are taking care of my mom...im so frustrated with this hospital... On a good note the GI and Cardiologist were amazing and made sure I knew what was going on...
