It was a nice outdoor break for us, the park was connected with sports and fitness equipment that works well for 14+ and above even my lil one enjoys the elliptical equipment so much. There are also a couple of volleyball courts near a very large covered pavilion that would fit the family bbq or the the office crab feast. There is also a decently sized playground for the kids, although it isn't nearly as good as the playgrounds offered at Centennial and Meadow Brook. I can imagine parking could be a pain as the fields fill up but there is street parking available.

It's a little distracting to play tennis there during peak times- there's a lot of activity between the planes, the highway, people smoking pot in the picnic areas, and once there were even kids on ATVs riding around loudly. Sometimes people blast music in the parking lot for absolutely no reason. For awhile there was a creepy old guy who lived in his truck in the parking lot and would make me super uncomfortable being there if alone, but he wasn't there the last two times I've been- maybe he has moved on. But overall, it is great that there is a place in the community for activities such as tennis and skating, and it seems to be well-maintained.

It's not a very long walking trail. It was good enough for what we wanted, just to get a good few laps in for exercise. At the time, the park was busy with people playing tennis and basketball. There were a few little league baseball practices going on as well. The parking is another story. If you do not get there at a decent time, you could end up parking along the side of the playing fields or in the grass outside of the park. Thankfully, we were able to get a parking spot. If you live in the area, it's a nice park to visit. Just be aware that after work hours during the week, parking could be an issue. On top of that, the park could get really crowded.

In the summer, it becomes a large open green space with a splash pad, offering things like free outdoor yoga classes or festivals on the green. In the winter, it becomes a large outdoor ice rink. It's surrounded by a variety of new restaurants and apartments and there is lots of parking, including a (usually) free parking garage.

So I see the park and I'm looking hard as it looks like a little building on the grounds and the door is wide open... could it be a miracle. I go in and there is a sign-in sheet, so I sign-in and I'm relieved because the couple people that came before me the reason was: Restroom. I know this is not my community recreational center so I actually asked and the lady at the desk, who was very nice, pointed me in the direction. Not only was this place spotless but it had the aroma of bleach, just want I like to smell when I walk into a Rec Center..talk about setting the standard. The outside grounds were pretty nice too, I noticed the paths, tennis courts, and playground. While I don't plan on having that emergency again, I appreciate the hospitality.

There's sand traps and "rivers". The water is dirty but that's expected. Sells ice cream and food. We also had an all day pass to the batting cages as well. Bats are provided along with helmets. It's done with a wrist pass, so there's no coins to get the cages started. So the GPS address actually takes you to an apartment residential area. The actual place is behind the plaza with Safeway and McDonald's. So try inputting those addresses instead! McDonalds: 5485 Harpers Farm Rd, Columbia, MD 21044 Go into the plaza and keep going straight back. You should see flags.

Our party hostess (when I asked) said we could take the extra opened paper goods. They were packed in my personal box unwrapped. The staff went into our personal box & removed the items. When asked, the woman in charge stated we were not able to take them as it was their property. It appears that they will be reusing these Winnie the Pooh paper items. We spent approximately $700, tipped our party hostess to be treated like thieves by going through our personal items to "see" what we took.
