Went to this park for the first time with my grandkids. I'm gonna have to say it is one of the nicest in Howard County. Very clean with outside bathrooms available close by. They have an area for toddlers as well as older kids which was very nice. This is definitely a must visit if you live in Howard County! We will be back here for sure!

What? It's a playground. It's a very nice playground. It's a very nice playground with a giant play structure for the active ones; a separate one for the smaller set; a rock climbing wall; and bathrooms that are reasonably clean. And the ice cream man shows up every now and then.

An awesome playground. Every time my nieces and nephews visit they want to go to this park. I enjoy walking the trail too.

Are these adult basketball courts? Many of the parks don't have 10' goals.

There are also a few streams that are not roped off and you can go off the walking path down to the water. This trail has a lot of wildlife, including snakes, bunnies, ducks and deer, therefore, it is best that you keep your pets on a leash. There is one spot of the trail that is underneath a bridge and a lot of the dogs and cats get spooked due to the loud shaking noises. I frequent this trail a lot with my cat, Rune and we have never had an issue. It is very quiet and most of the people coming and going are incredibly respectful. The trail is easy to get to, and there is a lot of free parking, especially if you come early! At the beginning of the trail there is a café which is the perfect spot to grab a coffee, tea or a breakfast sandwich to enjoy on your walk!

The difficulty level is very low; the trail is wide and most of it is paved. It's about three miles and there are markers every 1/2 mile. The view along the trail is absolutely beautiful during, it doesn't matter what time of the year you go. There's a stream which you easily can go down to. As for parking, there's a huge parking lot right at the start of the trail and since this trail isn't busy, it stays pretty empty. If you don't want a difficult hike and just want a relaxing walk, this is a great trail for that. Plus, it's great for kids and pets.

The park is about 20 acres of woods, wetlands and small lakes, with a 0.75-mile paved path with occasional wood sections and bridges, and an observation gazebo and a fishing pier on the larger western lake. We were passing by here around 7pm on the Saturday before Halloween (Oct 2025), and we saw lit carved pumpkins all along the paths! here were more than 100 pumpkins, with families and locals voting on their favorites. We voted for #20, but there were many amazing designs. Many of the pumpkins remained for several days, with the occasional proud sculptor showing up to retrieve theirs. After all, there's still a week to display them on their own front porch. :-) The main entrance with on-street parallel parking is on Font Hill at Carrigan about two blocks south of Frederick Rd. There is also an entrance, with no nearby parking, on Centennial Lane across from Char Lil Court. I have to remember to watch for the occasional fun events sponsored here by the Font Hill Neighborhood Association!
