The venue itself is absolutely stunning and comfortably fit our 250 guests. The wall of windows overlooking the pond is what sold us from the beginning. It creates the most beautiful backdrop. The property is full of gorgeous photo opportunities, including two bridges, a fountain, a tree swing, an apple tree, and even a small vineyard. Not to mention the beautiful pond with huge fish! It's truly a hidden gem tucked away on a quiet country road. One of our favorite things was having everything in one place. There are separate spaces for both the girls and the guys to get ready, which made the day so much easier and more relaxed. Our guests stayed at nearby hotels just 20 minutes away, making transportation simple while still giving us the peaceful, private setting we wanted. A huge thank you to Gene, Shannon, and Ken. They each played such an important role in making our wedding day possible, from helping us plan over the past year and a half to working tirelessly on the day itself. Although the ceremony we serviced was held inside the large event barn, everything was beautifully arranged and very well organized. I'm not sure how much has changed over the years but it was easily one of the best weeks of my life. I learned archery, kayaking, canoeing & embossing. At the time, you could pay $5.00 and choose to make any craft that they had to offer; I still have a wooden dog I painted (if you press it's nose it plays music) and it was the first time I ever participated in a scavenger hunt. The camp grounds were always kept very clean, the staff was amazing and it was nice to see that the property is exactly as I left it. I attended a wedding here today & would recommend Camp Whitewood to anyone looking for an affordable & alternative wedding venue. Although our friends explained to us that you cannot have alcohol unless you rent all six buildings but this didn't ruin our evening. The building they choose had two bathrooms, a decent sized kitchen, a large stage & plenty of room for eating & dancing. Younger children might be bored as there isn't a playground; however, you can enjoy a fire pit or a stroll through the woods. All the buildings, with the exception of the cabins, are handicap accessible . There's also plenty of parking in a secluded area surrounded by nature. So weather you're considering hosting your next event here or having your children stay for a week or two; Camp Whitewood is the place to be!

They were scheduled to deliver food between 2-2:30 with my guests arriving at 3pm. When no one showed to deliver food, I called and left two messages, also sending a text message, knowing it was his cell phone. No response, nothing so in a panic I ordered pizza and threw together appetizers and boxed cake. Not only was it embarrassing that my guests had no food, I missed the entire party while I was at the house cooking. Then, employees from Chow Down just show up at 5:30, claiming that was the time they were given to deliver food. We were about to serve dessert so I refused to pay for the food. They called their boss, the one who never called me back, who immediately answered and advised they could leave the dessert I had ordered. I understand that everyone makes mistakes but this was unprofessional and unacceptable. The owner should have immediately called me and said he had the time wrong, and not sent his employees later. He never called to apologize. I worked very hard to make this party special for my parents and I missed the whole thing. Unbelievable that he couldn't even take a minute to apologize.
