Loved this orchard!! C really loved the whole experience!! She was like clownfish in an anemone…read more All happy and stuff... stop rubbing on that tree! It was a beautiful place to visit. C had making it to a real apple orchard in New Hampshire on her list of must do while we were this far north. We were there in mid October and it was right at the end of the season it seemed. This place has so many treats and fresh produce to choose while you are here. Oddly enough, the best thing I got from here in my opinion was the local beef jerky! So good!! I wish I had more right now! The orchard itself was pretty cool. I'd never seen so many apples. Most of the trees were full of fruit with apples all over the ground. I guess they must yield more than they can use because the shop was full and they had open tours where you could go and pick your own apples. There were tons of varieties of trees on the farm. Lots of other produce is available here too. It appeared to be a complete working farm. The landscape was gorgeous as it's nestled on a sloping hill where you can see for miles it seems. The shopkeepers were super nice and we purchased a few things. A flight in a couple of days back home prohibited us from getting too many things. I won't likely ever return as it's far away and I have been there, done that.... But, YOU should totally go! '26 - 16

I like that I can pick what I want from a great list of ever changing selection. The veggies are amazing...so sweet...so beautiful...and fresh beyond fresh. The choices of lettuce, varieties of tomatoes, the onions (red and white). This year they did tri-color carrots that were almost to beautiful to eat. I am still using the seasons garlic and wishing I stored more potatoes. They also make granola, jams and maple and I have to say the Maple is the BEST I can find. I love to chat with K&M about how they amend their soil and appreciate all they have done to make this a rewarding experience for the consumer. They send a weekly update about the farm with the weeks veggies and often send recipes for what is in season. Many of those recipes have become weekly favorites. If you are thinking of joining their CSA you won't regret it. I am already dreaming of strawberries and will buy double this year! We are a family of 2 and we do the full farm share each week. I spend about 2 hours a week preparing the food to store and making recipes to enjoy. It is time well spent and I feel lucky to buy top quality veggies in a world of plastic wrapped trucked food. Thank you K&M for doing the hard work and allowing me to benefit from your farming adventure!

Hackleboro Orchards - Who doesn't love apple picking!?

Was really hoping to get some apple cider but then we're making it, so we picked some apples, bought a pumpkin, apples, and syrup, and headed out to dry off. Would have liked to try this dry, and with more stuff in their selling barn area but - can't win them all.

Easy accessibility from exit 18 off of 93 and ample free parking makes getting here and getting your wares out simple and part of the fun. The drive up to Canterbury and through the town is absolutely gorgeous, and traffic levels stay relatively low. Hackleboro boasts acres of apple trees of many different varieties -- McIntosh, Cortland, Red and Gold Delicious, Puritan, Empire, and Northern Spy (call for availability). Long-handled pickers are provided, and the management requests that patrons refrain from climbing trees. They also have pick-your-own blueberries, peaches, strawberries, and other fruit (when in season), as well as a farm stand with freshly-made apple pies, apple cobblers, home-made cider, honey, maple syrup and candies, flowers, cookbooks, pumpkins, and lots more. Everything looks and tastes wonderful, and I make a special trip up whenever I can during the fall because of the sheer quality as well as my belief that it's important to support local farmers and family-run businesses. I know the family that runs the orchard, and they give the utmost care to the trees and animals under their watch. Speaking of the animals, there's a goat pen and some rabbits, as well as a horse, some chickens, and a number of farm cats and dogs. The farm is extremely family-friendly and bringing children and (leashed!) pets is encouraged. There are even free tractor rides on weekends! There is also an observation deck at the front of the orchard -- it boasts vistas of the mountains superior to anything else I've seen in the area. Treat yourself to a trip to Hackleboro Orchards. (There's a farm stand in Boscawen, too, and the farm attends various fairs each year, including the largely popular Deerfield Fair.) You will not be disappointed -- the quality of the products, the care of the people in charge, and the overall air and feel of the place is unparalleled. Hackleboro isn't just a business -- it's a family, and when you visit, you're a part of it too.

They took our drink orders quickly and brought out the chips and salsa. As always I asked for an extra salsa dish cause I'm super messy. The guy said sure and left but no salsa bowl arrived. The waiter came a minute or two later and so I asked him. He said oh sure and left. He returned quickly and im assuming got distracted because he forgot it too. He said he'd go get it after he put in our order. We ordered and waited and I finally flagged him down again. He did bring a bowl just as they arrived with my husbands food and my side of rice and beans. I guess the cook messed up and so after I finished the beans and rice my tacos arrived. They were very good and he did offer another plate of rice and beans but I told him I wss fine. My only complaint is that I felt they should have taken off a part of the meal or when they offered the beans and rice said it would be no charge. The food was good but the experience was a bit disappointing.
