    During an epic, ongoing heatwave on Friday evening September 7th around 5:30pm, we noticed our A/C unit was no longer cooling. The fan was still blowing, but the motor wasn't coming on. After checking filter (3 months new), turning system off, waiting a while and restarting, the motor was still not kicking on. Thought it might be a compressor problem and realized we needed to call someone out, but it was after hours by this time. 7 am early Saturday morning, started making calls to get someone out asap. Called 8 companies, all were booked including emergency backup (after going through a callback switchboard most seem to be using now). No one would be available until Monday the 9th. Remembered MDTech Appliance because we called them out on 2 separate occasions before with success (1st time for refrigerator drainage issue, then few months later, for problem with microwave not working due to door latch). Knowledgeable, very reasonable rates. Gave them a call 'round 9:30a and was shocked (considering response we were getting) that they could get someone out SAME day between 12 and 3p. Paul with MDTech showed up at 12:12p. Paul checked inside temp (89.2) and after describing what was happening, he went outside to check out the A/C unit. He was pretty quick to isolate that the issue was the capacitor not getting any charge at all. Thankfully he had 2 new ones with him and replaced the dead one. A/C was up and running. He set the thermostat to 75 and told me to let it cool down and if I had any more issues give him a call. Paul let me know the part/work was guaranteed for 90 days. He was done within an hour (1:06p). Paul was is very experienced and charged a affordable, competitive rate. We're very happy because he quickly solved the A/C problem and got it back in action in one trip, saving us from enduring this miserable heatwave longer than necessary. Below is a quick review of the 2 prior times we used MDTech Appliance Repair: January 9th 2024 Whirlpool over-the-range microwave door latch/ hinge was randomly not engaging causing the light to not come on when you opened the door which also prevented you from using it. Two techs came out, got inside microwave door, fixed the issue and got it working again within a short time. August 11th 2023 Service call trip for Samsung Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator to get a 2nd diagnostic regarding an ongoing issue we were having with water draining and freezing in/ under the vegetable drawers and freezer floor (and if not caught soon enough, water would habitually drain out onto the kitchen floor). After having another appliance repair company come out on May 5th and defrost the refrigerator and clean out the drain line, the problem returned three weeks later (which we were told would likely happen). So we got into the habit of removing excess ice from veggie drawer and freezer before spilling out to the floor. We reached out to MDTech Appliance because we wanted a 2nd opinion before deciding if it was necessary to buy a new refrigerator. *After calling several places, we learned MDTech was the only other appliance repair company to even do a service trip for Samsung Stainless Steel refrigerators. Others specifically told us they do not service Samsung Stainless Steel fridges for this very common issue. Paul came out, did a thorough diagnostic and reiterated the same assessment received from initial appliance repair company. He told us this problem was common and that basically we could continue spending money for a temporary fix (defrosting/ cleaning drain line) or buy a new refrigerator, NOT a Samsung Stainless Steel because of this specific problem. Paul was honest, explained the manufacturer flaw that at that time had yet to be resolved. He made clear our limited options and left us with a repair estimate. We later decided we would buy a new refrigerator. In summary, we are happy with our experiences with MDTech Appliance and very satisfied with their work. We recommend their service and would definitely use them again if a need arises.

    This is one of the most blatant acts of trickery and theft that I've ever encountered with a business involving repair and installation in my entire life. I am not using hyperbole; please take a walk with me here and read the following so that you can be prepared to fight back against businesses like this that take your kindness for weakness. I've been living out of the country since 2010 in Hong Kong, and the tenants that we have living in our condo currently pay directly to any technicians that come to the condo for repairs or installations. I will arrange the technician after asking questions and fetching a quote, and then the tenants will arrange to be home during the time the technicians some to do the repair work needed at the condo. I informed my tenants about the upcoming job, which was quoted at $150 -- and I even asked our tenants to give a $20 for a tip provided the work goes well, and ONLY if the work is confirmed as complete and guaranteed, as agreed in our Yelp communication with MDTECH prior to arranging the microwave installation. What Pavel did was take advantage of me being out of the country by adding a remodeling fee of $87, even though the cubic space was identical to the previous microwave that was installed there. There was no reason to do this. Even the officials at Home Depot made this assertion when they came to drop off the microwave unit itself, so MDTECH took advantage of a situation and added this fee for no good reason at all. They also added a base repair fee of $20, which I can live with, but again, something that was not mentioned as a possibility for fees with the entire job. Oh and then the diagnostic fee of $69. Pavel just failed to apply that fee towards the sum total of the cost of the job. What he could've done at the very least was indicate that the diagnostic fee was added but then subsequently deducted on the invoice since the job was actually performed and completed. So another act of dishonesty and that is beyond unprofessionalism - it's just plain shady business practice. So to summarize, Pavel took advantage of a situation of knowing that the tenants do not know the amount of the quote he gave me, inflated the price with unnecessary fees (or fees that he decided to COMPLETELY leave me in the dark about), and had them sign. Almost $300 for a microwave installation, and the unit itself cost a little more than $400! BUYER BEWARE: Shame on you MDTECH for this blatant act of criminal theft. I plan to take this matter to the BBB and Consumer Affairs, followed by whatever else necessary so that others do not experience what I have.

    Drain pipe they installed separated, which caused all the water from the dishwasher to flood out into the kitchen.

    Our washer broke and flooded our laundry and kitchen area. Called to request a quote from MDTech about washer and potentially dishwasher due to some overflow from it recently. Technician came and looked around for a little bit. Mentions that both washer and dishwasher would need some maintenance and that the cost for fixing the dishwasher drain pipe since it was slightly kinked, would cost around $300. Totally seemed fine and reasonable because who wants to potentially have their drain pipe breaking and flooding the kitchen. Fast forward to after having them fix it, not to mention not installing some parts of the dishwasher back correctly, the drain pipe they installed broke apart since it was two tubes attached to each other and flooded our kitchen anyways! I should never had them "fix" anything in the first place! Communication has been spotty ever since unable to reach them even though they called me nonstop to give them review and ask about a quote follow up. I did not even receive any apology for them flooding my kitchen what is clearly their mistake on their end. At this very moment where I don't even know if they will come fix it or even refund what I paid for, I do not recommend using MDTech's service. Pictures provided for the kind of repair I received from MDTech. Hope this helps anyone deciding whether to use their service or not.

    A home warranty plan that I did not sign up for.

    They did a good job. The installer was very careful to make sure there were no gas leaks on my dryer hookup. I paid a little more than I anticipated, but probably cheaper than having done it myself and having my garage explode. Another thing, not sure if its related or not, but one month after the service and after moving out of the condo that I was renting where the work was done, I got an unsolicited mailing from American Home Shield, a home warranty company, saying I bought a year contract. Sure enough, there was an unauthorized charge on the same credit card I used for MD TECH. Coincidence? Perhaps, but an internet search shows that this home warranty company uses MD TECH for their repairs, so there may be a connection. In any event it took me a while to get this fraudulent charge for a one-year home warranty contract off of my credit card. Just be sure to keep an eye on your credit card billing statement.

    I would actually give them 4 1/2 for the fact that they don't take away the old dishwasher when others do. As far as everything else it wS a 5. They respond super fast and had someone out that same evening and i put in the request in the afternoon. I didn't have the right shut off because of it being an older home. Sooo, they actually called some places and found a plumber in their network that came @7 to change it for me so they could come back and finish the next day And it was an easy anxiety free experience.

    MDTech appliance repair company was responsive and very professional. I had an issue with my whirlpool refrigerator not cooling properly and the freezer was not freezing properly. The tech came and did a great job of cleaning the freezer vents and he fix several things that the refrigerator needed to get fix. The only down side was that he didn't speak Spanish but he tried his best to communicate with me so I can translate to my in-laws since they were the ones in the house as I was at work. But overall I recommend this business for any appliances repairs.

Here's why our experience has been superior to previous companies: All three specialists were not only punctual, friendly, and courteous, but they took their time to evaluate our issues in CLEAR layman terms corroborated by photos, and showing us exactly where the problems were in person. We previously obtained a quote from a large corporate company and was left feeling dumbfounded and stressed as they described the nature of our problem in engineering, technical jargon that made absolutely no sense, including astronomical quotes without explanation of the work entailed. Edit: I also wanted to mention the process to schedule a time/day for someone to come out was seamless. Customer service was friendly, easy going, but also I received texts/info with Rigoberto's picture during arrival as well. All of this gave me so much reassurance that this company not only cares about your happiness but also your safety which is crucial in this day and age when someone comes to your home.
