The tech Rinat was great, he diagnosed the problem and was polite. On the other hand the owner when I called to follow up to see when the part was arriving he was rude, dismissive and unprofessional. I wrote a bad review and he texted me to take it down and threaten to have me deal with the manufacturer going forward and told me to give him 5 star review. Absolutely would not recommend. I try to avoid writing negative reviews, but they have sent me four notices that they want a review, so here goes. The service I received was nothing short of HORRID. They did send someone right away - that part was good - BUT the tech had NO IDEA what he was doing. He poked around my refrigerator for an hour or so, made a diagnosis and said he would order a part and come back. Ok, fine. $75.00 I got a phone call later in the day saying that the diagnosis didn't make sense, and they would send someone else out, no service charge, to check it out again. The following day, they sent out THE SAME GUY who still had no idea what to do, but spent several hours calling people and poking around. He hit a RESET button, which stopped the alarm, and said to call back if the problem happened again. AND CHARGED $165.00 for that. My husband asked about the charge, since we were told the second trip wouldn't have a charge - tech said it didn't matter what they did, it was $165.00. About ten minutes after he left, of course, the problem is still there, fridge still beeping, same issue as before, nothing has changed. I called the company and they told me that the issue is between the tech and my husband, not between the company and me. So far, I have asked for a full refund. Had hopes for this company. Found them on Angi website formally Angie's list. Very prompt in response willing to send someone out. However tech arrived, I felt like he was very rude. Our washer was full of water which we informed him about because it was not draining. He was persistent on opening the door. As he opened the door to look at serial number water spilled all over our floor. He tried to blame us and say we only told him it was a small amount of water. Honestly just paid the $75 dollar charge so he would get out of my home. Now we have broken washer, dirty wet towels and water damage on our floor. Would not recommend. read more

During an epic, ongoing heatwave on Friday evening September 7th around 5:30pm, we noticed our A/C unit was no longer cooling. The fan was still blowing, but the motor wasn't coming on. After checking filter (3 months new), turning system off, waiting a while and restarting, the motor was still not kicking on. Thought it might be a compressor problem and realized we needed to call someone out, but it was after hours by this time. 7 am early Saturday morning, started making calls to get someone out asap. Called 8 companies, all were booked including emergency backup (after going through a callback switchboard most seem to be using now). No one would be available until Monday the 9th. Remembered MDTech Appliance because we called them out on 2 separate occasions before with success (1st time for refrigerator drainage issue, then few months later, for problem with microwave not working due to door latch). Knowledgeable, very reasonable rates. Gave them a call 'round 9:30a and was shocked (considering response we were getting) that they could get someone out SAME day between 12 and 3p. Paul with MDTech showed up at 12:12p. Paul checked inside temp (89.2) and after describing what was happening, he went outside to check out the A/C unit. He was pretty quick to isolate that the issue was the capacitor not getting any charge at all. Thankfully he had 2 new ones with him and replaced the dead one. A/C was up and running. He set the thermostat to 75 and told me to let it cool down and if I had any more issues give him a call. Paul let me know the part/work was guaranteed for 90 days. He was done within an hour (1:06p). Paul was is very experienced and charged a affordable, competitive rate. We're very happy because he quickly solved the A/C problem and got it back in action in one trip, saving us from enduring this miserable heatwave longer than necessary. Below is a quick review of the 2 prior times we used MDTech Appliance Repair: January 9th 2024 Whirlpool over-the-range microwave door latch/ hinge was randomly not engaging causing the light to not come on when you opened the door which also prevented you from using it. Two techs came out, got inside microwave door, fixed the issue and got it working again within a short time. August 11th 2023 Service call trip for Samsung Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator to get a 2nd diagnostic regarding an ongoing issue we were having with water draining and freezing in/ under the vegetable drawers and freezer floor (and if not caught soon enough, water would habitually drain out onto the kitchen floor). After having another appliance repair company come out on May 5th and defrost the refrigerator and clean out the drain line, the problem returned three weeks later (which we were told would likely happen). So we got into the habit of removing excess ice from veggie drawer and freezer before spilling out to the floor. We reached out to MDTech Appliance because we wanted a 2nd opinion before deciding if it was necessary to buy a new refrigerator. *After calling several places, we learned MDTech was the only other appliance repair company to even do a service trip for Samsung Stainless Steel refrigerators. Others specifically told us they do not service Samsung Stainless Steel fridges for this very common issue. Paul came out, did a thorough diagnostic and reiterated the same assessment received from initial appliance repair company. He told us this problem was common and that basically we could continue spending money for a temporary fix (defrosting/ cleaning drain line) or buy a new refrigerator, NOT a Samsung Stainless Steel because of this specific problem. Paul was honest, explained the manufacturer flaw that at that time had yet to be resolved. He made clear our limited options and left us with a repair estimate. We later decided we would buy a new refrigerator. In summary, we are happy with our experiences with MDTech Appliance and very satisfied with their work. Anyways, I've lived here since 2019, and you can check the market price of the house. You might be right at some point, I just could NOT afford your unprofessional manner, your egotistical behavior, and your "fair" price. So basically, your charge depends on your customer's house size and appliance's brand. Service businesses should uphold a fair and unbiased approach. You don't take advantage of someone just because of the size of the house, and expect them to pay more because you think you can fool them well. No. 8/ "Another option just to replace it, it's where you giving up" - You gave me the price of $400 something to fix the 2 broken burners out of five, and the price went up to $700. When my concerns weren't answered, I wanted to stop working with you and asked for my money back $122.1 after deducting the fee of fixing the ice maker (150) - 130 for the diagnostic fee (microwave + stove) -12.99 shipping fee for parts. 9/"Your down-payment for Cooktop will keep it since parts was installed and did that repair with cleaning and you still own us money" You replaced parts that did not address the problems, and your poor customer service chased me away. You dared to keep the deposit and asked for the rest. Which part did you clean, and the charge for $79? Again, did it work? NO. Where is your responsibility and conscience? 10/"if you have any questions you do know our phone number." - Right. My last texts were on 7/19 and 7/26 and no response from you. Another thing you said right is that slavery officially ended in December 1865, the 19th century. However, bandits and scammers like you never can be ended completely. This is one of the most blatant acts of trickery and theft that I've ever encountered with a business involving repair and installation in my entire life. I am not using hyperbole; please take a walk with me here and read the following so that you can be prepared to fight back against businesses like this that take your kindness for weakness. I've been living out of the country since 2010 in Hong Kong, and the tenants that we have living in our condo currently pay directly to any technicians that come to the condo for repairs or installations. I will arrange the technician after asking questions and fetching a quote, and then the tenants will arrange to be home during the time the technicians some to do the repair work needed at the condo. I informed my tenants about the upcoming job, which was quoted at $150 -- and I even asked our tenants to give a $20 for a tip provided the work goes well, and ONLY if the work is confirmed as complete and guaranteed, as agreed in our Yelp communication with MDTECH prior to arranging the microwave installation. What Pavel did was take advantage of me being out of the country by adding a remodeling fee of $87, even though the cubic space was identical to the previous microwave that was installed there. There was no reason to do this. Even the officials at Home Depot made this assertion when they came to drop off the microwave unit itself, so MDTECH took advantage of a situation and added this fee for no good reason at all. They also added a base repair fee of $20, which I can live with, but again, something that was not mentioned as a possibility for fees with the entire job. Oh and then the diagnostic fee of $69. Pavel just failed to apply that fee towards the sum total of the cost of the job. What he could've done at the very least was indicate that the diagnostic fee was added but then subsequently deducted on the invoice since the job was actually performed and completed. So another act of dishonesty and that is beyond unprofessionalism - it's just plain shady business practice. So to summarize, Pavel took advantage of a situation of knowing that the tenants do not know the amount of the quote he gave me, inflated the price with unnecessary fees (or fees that he decided to COMPLETELY leave me in the dark about), and had them sign. Almost $300 for a microwave installation, and the unit itself cost a little more than $400! BUYER BEWARE: Shame on you MDTECH for this blatant act of criminal theft. I plan to take this matter to the BBB and Consumer Affairs, followed by whatever else necessary so that others do not experience what I have. read more

We have a 30+ yo oven that stopped heating and we love it bc it matches our old kitchen so we were adamant about having it repaired vs buying a new one. Craftsmanship just isn't what it used to be! I requested a quote and promptly got a response and there was plenty of availability. The service tech was on time, quick, and our oven is working perfectly, even after a couple months. I got in touch with MDTECH for a quote on a project in our garage. They told me they would need to see it in person to give an estimate and scheduled my appt over the phone. They came, gave me a quote, and then asked me to pay for the estimate. Excuse me? At no point before this did they ever mention there being a fee for a price quote. I had another company come out the day prior and they provided a free estimate, and any company that has a charge for an estimate makes this fact known upfront. MDTECH acknowledged it was their error in not informing me about the fee, but they still refused to waive the fee. The worst part was that when I called to speak with them about it, they threw all this attitude at me, saying that I wouldn't be able to find another appliance repair company that gives free estimates. Completely false, by the way. Bottom line is that if you as a company make a mistake, you shouldn't make the customer bear the onus of your error. Terrible customer service. read more

Our washer broke and flooded our laundry and kitchen area. Called to request a quote from MDTech about washer and potentially dishwasher due to some overflow from it recently. Technician came and looked around for a little bit. Mentions that both washer and dishwasher would need some maintenance and that the cost for fixing the dishwasher drain pipe since it was slightly kinked, would cost around $300. Totally seemed fine and reasonable because who wants to potentially have their drain pipe breaking and flooding the kitchen. Fast forward to after having them fix it, not to mention not installing some parts of the dishwasher back correctly, the drain pipe they installed broke apart since it was two tubes attached to each other and flooded our kitchen anyways! I should never had them "fix" anything in the first place! Communication has been spotty ever since unable to reach them even though they called me nonstop to give them review and ask about a quote follow up. I did not even receive any apology for them flooding my kitchen what is clearly their mistake on their end. At this very moment where I don't even know if they will come fix it or even refund what I paid for, I do not recommend using MDTech's service. They did a good job. The installer was very careful to make sure there were no gas leaks on my dryer hookup. I paid a little more than I anticipated, but probably cheaper than having done it myself and having my garage explode. Another thing, not sure if its related or not, but one month after the service and after moving out of the condo that I was renting where the work was done, I got an unsolicited mailing from American Home Shield, a home warranty company, saying I bought a year contract. Sure enough, there was an unauthorized charge on the same credit card I used for MD TECH. Coincidence? Perhaps, but an internet search shows that this home warranty company uses MD TECH for their repairs, so there may be a connection. In any event it took me a while to get this fraudulent charge for a one-year home warranty contract off of my credit card. Just be sure to keep an eye on your credit card billing statement. read more

I read some reviews and I feel the same that if I could give them a zero I would. I originally found them through Angi's list and decided to check them out. I sent them photos of my empty 2 oven cabinet which I wanted to have a single oven stove installed. I realized that there would need to be some sort of modifications to make the new oven fit and I realized the truth is in their name appliance repair- did not lend itself to doing cabinet work. The whole reason I agreed to have them come out was because they made it sound like they could do the work. Unfortunately they are not very well in communication as none of the people I spoke to appear to speak fluent English. If they had told me from the beginning plainly "You need cabinet work before we can do anything" then I would have avoided them coming out at all. I also encountered the same argument that others with poor reviews have spoken about -"you won't find anyone else to do the entire job- it's impossible". When I mentioned that I had already found someone and that I was just getting pricing - the guy tells me " you'll probably get some Mexican guys to do a bad job" WTH? I paid the house visit just but will definitely not be going with them. The cost really isn't the factor - but I don't feel comfortable with their communication skills or their ethics. Our GE profile has been acting up for a while. I've been hesitant to call and get a repair quote; I didn't want to be taken advantage of. I thought this company with its ratings would be a fair bet. I had a very unsatisfactory experience- I would never recommend them to anyone. I work in real estate so it's important to me that the vendors I recommend to clients work well, do good work and charge a reasonable rate for their work. This is what happened: I made the appointment, and the tech Peter showed up ( he did show up on time) he assesses the DW and determines it's the control panel, and maybe something else, and gives me an estimate of $400 to replace. That seems high but I do need the DW fixed so I agreed. The next day, Sergei comes to do the actual repair, and for about 24 hrs the dw works. And then the same issue occurs, it turns itself off and does not power on. I get in touch with the office for a follow-up, and I'm given a time window for the tech to arrive ( 1-4) Tech never arrives, tech nor office gives an update that he's running late, something happened. I reached out at 4:30 asking if he was coming. At this point, I'm upset, it's not professional and I tell them don't come. If you're not going to respect my time, don't come. I get another tech this morning from a different company to assess the DW; he says it's the onboard computer, likely shorted, and for the repair price, it'd be cheaper to replace it- and recommends some better quality brands like Maytag and whirlpool. I ask about the control panel and previous repair price- he says" In my 22 years, I've never heard of this company, you should call and get your money back that's unacceptable." I do call- and rather than take ownership of the situation, Peter tries to gaslight me, that it's my problem, and refuses the refund. Peter then goes on to blame the weather we had. Again, communicating is not dependent on weather- they should have simply called and rescheduled or texted with an update. That's the bare minimum, especially when your client is not happy with the work done. Especially. He doesn't try to resolve it, he complains to me, that I'm complaining ( as if that's unreasonable) and accuses the other tech of lying. The defensiveness is a dead giveaway to me. In any business where your word and your reputation are all you have, you'd think MD tech would place a higher priority on making things right. Don't use them, I certainly never will. All in all, we're out $400 for a repair that should never have happened- the DW needs to be replaced and we got scammed. read more

My Viking oven has been broken for over a year now, the bottom one, and 2 other Viking approved repair shops had given up on fixing it, yes just straight up told me can't do it. MD Tech on the other hand are professionals through and through!! They came out to my place at least 4 times, not their fault Viking kept getting the parts that are broken wrong, spent easily 3+ hours for the last 2 appts. Finally got it fixed! Another great experience with Eduard from MD Tech. We asked them to disassemble/reassemble dryer so I could get in there to clean residue left by a rat who got caught in the motor a few weeks ago. Eduard was on time, took the dryer apart and came back a few hours later to reassemble. While doing so, he discovered a gas leak in our line. I thought I smelled gas periodically, mystery solved.
