The original owners Kathy and Tom, when the home was called Estrella Gardens were amazing and loving. The home was sold and purchased and run by Karina. I was skeptical and so worried that mom's care would change. I should not have been. I am a nurse so I had incredibly high standards for my mother's care. She was giving loving, competent daily care. There were daily activities, exercise, games, hairdresser, podiatry and HOME MADE MEALS!!! The grounds have lush greenery and fruit trees, wraparound covered patios. Mom had her own flower garden on the back patio and all her wind chimes were hung. The staff are so loving and I was kept informed of every little thing going on with my mother. Pictures were texted to me if I missed an event or sent just because! They did her nails and her hair. We were truly blessed having my mother at Amaryllis, I could not have found a better home for her surrounded by such loving staff who I considered family. My mother recently passed and was able to do so surround by her loving family and her extended Amaryllis family.

However, once you pay and should your loved one enter a…read morehospital and rehab and not yet been an actual resident, they will give away their apartment (i.e. rent it to someone else) even though you have been told the apartment is now theirs and they try to move them to their other facility and not offer a refund. When dealing with the elderly it's important to choose a place that you hope they will feel comfortable. Their facility at Mayo is not that as if you end up in Memory Care you will be forced to look at a parking lot. Is this what our family members worked so hard for all of their lives? Find another facility everyone.

Then we almost lost him due to a medical emergency. That said, Edward and his fantastic team of aids at Serenity stepped up in a big way working with Hospice of the Valley. The staff is small and so is the facility but the rooms are beautiful with private bathrooms and no bedsores on anyone. They cook homemade meals in a large kitchen where they also interact with the residents. Rachel, Avia and Angel are wonderful with the residents, checking on them, engaging with them in a kind way and laughing. If you like a smaller facility with quality care (maximum 10 residents) then this is it. Our father is now off of end of life hospice and onto regular hospice and it speaks to the care and tlc they give. This facility doesn't have the bells and whistles of the bigger ones but it has cleanliness, caring and interaction. The beds are always made, the residents are always clean and it has a sense of family. The views out of the windows are beautiful and there's a lovely terrace with dining and a putting green when the weather is cooler. I've seen a lot of nursing homes, assisted living facilities and community care homes and this is one of the best.

Though my parent enjoys it at the Manor, I've been concerned about continuous increases in the rent and fees, especially the latest increase of just shy of 15%! This latest increase seems to have pushed residents "over the edge," with several now moving out to nicer and cheaper alternatives. The Manor seems to have also lost several good and caring employees that we really liked. I'm starting to get concerned about the trends I've been witnessing. I hope these trends don't continue.

We were looking for a facility where more eyes would be on her and she could get Care if she needed it. We toured many independent/assisted living facilities in the Scottsdale and Phoenix area. When we walked in the door at Manor Village, we knew we had found Moms new home. We were greeted by Wesley Wilkins who provided us with a tour and as we moved throughout the building, Wesley knew all the residents that we came in contact with as well as employees. You could tell he really enjoys his job and every employee we talk with had a smile on their face. The entire building had a wonderful vibe and the residence we interacted with were so welcoming and friendly. We feel confident that if any emergency or care is needed, Mom is in the right place. It is now been a couple of months since she moved in and we could not be any happier. It has been such a positive experience and I would highly recommend Manor Village if you're looking for a facility that will treat your loved one like family. 2nd Review. Took apartment at Acoya Troon approx 6 months ago. (back and forth to the old house…read morefor about 3 months). Lots of stuff to dispose of and store. They allowed me to make some changes and put in new white carpeting. Love it!! I am still adjusting a bit, but have met so many special, quality people here! If I don't have a great social life...it will be my fault. The facilities are lovely...wonderful views from every angle. I look directly at Pinnacle Peak, through large mullioned patio doors. Love it every day! I'm not into dining out 3 meals a day...but there is the opportunity to do so. Very pretty dining room overlooking the central courtyard...and a Deli with a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches, fresh fruit. And a friendly bar for anyone wishing to have a cocktail and watch the ball games..or whatever. Also...if I decide to dine in, a hot meal of my choice will be delivered to my beautiful apartment. Happy Hour every Wednesday at the bar, with live music. Some impressive dancing going on and sing-along. We've had a few hitches with chefs and staff lately, but I know it will work itself out. Food selections might need a second look...but there are many choices. It's a New Year and I am having a new life experience.
