Service : 5 stars. He always showed up 5 minutes before the schedule time and explained the installation, completed the job in 1-2 hour. Return a couple weeks later with city inpector to do the inspection and sign off the installation before we made our final payment. Price : 4 stars. I'll confess having worked with a few dozen contractors in my real estate business, I thought an all-five-stars rating for a contractor was B.S. But having engaged with them on a large service upgrade project, 1) I see how they earn it, and 2) am happy to give it myself. They recently completed a 400a service upgrade for me. There was some risk PG&E might require a far more expensive solution, but at my request they validated their approach before starting. Nick communicated clearly and gave a clear and fair written estimate that was on the lower side. In performing they work, Josh was efficient and kept the job site clean; no complaints from my tenants. He also answered a half dozen questions from me, both about the current scope and about other electrical issues, pointing out a potential major safety issue that I'm glad he highlighted for me to address. And three extra pluses for which I wish I could give a sixth star: - Honesty: there was a $500 line item on the contract which turns out wasn't needed to the degree originally expected, but which could have been considered completed depending on interpretation. Though I would have paid it had they left it in, they removed it in the final invoice without me making any comments about it. - Trust: I offered a downpayment given the scope of the project; they said "don't worry - just pay when done" - Comprehensiveness: the city required an extra grounding rod which I didn't think was in scope. Had a really difficult problem with my electricity, where half of my house's power was out. Found Chris on Yelp and even though he was off on Sunday, he saw that i was in a bad a spot and came out anyways. He was able to trace the problem to an old junction box that was covered up by the previous owner when they remodeled the kitchen. To be honest, I really think it would have been at best a 50-50 chance another electrician would have found the source of the issue, but Chris was really confident and his knowledge of electricity was large and made me feel confident. It was hidden in a pretty difficult spot and required him to go into the dirty old attic. Will use Chris in all my future projects. read more
