Cider Flight

Have been coming here for years. Since I moved to Portland back in 2017. Especially for the comedy show, which drew me here. Love the music, the industrial atmosphere, and the energy. Great date spot, or after dinner entertainment with friends! Though, if you are hungry, you can't go wrong with the Cajun tots and cider flight! After seeing many shows here, you get to know the regular comedians. Which is cooler when you get to see them at different venues around Portland. EastBurn, Alberta Street Pub, and Funhouse lounge, just to name a few others. Overall, great service that makes you feel like you belong! And where you can finally relax- I always recommend my customers to come here when they're looking for something to do. I tell them if you really want to get to know Portland, go to a comedy show at Al's Den, never disappointed

Spontaneously found this spot and stopped by for a drink but stayed for the comedy show. It was $20 per person which I think was a pretty good deal! There was about an hour remaining when we got in and still caught a couple of acts. Drinks were good and the bar had speakeasy vibes.

I find it so unbelievable this venue allows events here to blast their music until 10:30pm-11:30pm…read more I live two blocks away and with our windows closed and a movie on, we can STILL hear Brittney spears and the cha cha mf slide every single weekend until all hours of the night. (It's 10:30pm on Sunday and it's blasting through our apt right now, plus all the peoples yelling/partying). There needs to be a noise curfew, or some sort of regulation for the people who rent this space out. It's not fair to the rest of the community and surrounding neighborhoods.

The space is minimal and industrial which is what we liked. The plants provided by the venue bring the space to life so well. Honestly, you need minimal decorations for it to be wedding ready. Having the outdoor space for cocktail hour, food trucks, beer pong, etc. was incredible. We had about 175 guests, so we really enjoyed the flow and space for our guests to get fresh air if needed. The Castaway team was helpful, responsive, and so great to work with! Highly recommend for weddings, events, etc. Thank you Castaway team!

One caution fir visitors. Our car in the Pittock parking lot was broken into. Nothing to take but expensive to repair the window. There are plenty of warning signs about leaving no valuables. This is a paid parking lot. Wish they would arrange for some security at a popular tourist destination.

Lots of photos of the family and context to the photos! This was great. Outside was clean and there were ton of labels for all the plants. Flowers and plants full bloom! We did the WildWood Trail to the Witches Castle! It's a nice hike. Wear appropriate shoes and clothes! 2.3-5 miles round trip. It's a big enough path for multiple people but some areas narrow. The climb down is good but man back up lol you will feel the burn. They have restrooms onsite indoor and then they have a bathroom in the mansion basement. Toilets flush loud don't be alarmed. At the bottom of the trail when you cross the street, there was a porta potty. Map as well. Parking is expensive: weekend Saturday it was roughly $24 for all day! There are benches and picnic tables towards the view! Staff are very nice! Gift shop as well with snacks, plants, jewelry, postcards, and all sorts of items.

"Dam Good Whiskey!" -- A Beaver's Review of Westward Distillery…read more Well chew my bark and call me industrious--Westward Distillery has crafted a whiskey so fine it made my tail thump like a drum on spring thaw! I waddled in skeptical. After all, we beavers know a thing or two about craftsmanship: sharp teeth, strong wood, steady paws. But the moment those folks poured me a sample of their American Single Malt, I realized I was in the presence of fellow artisans--humans who build with barley the way I build with birch. The aroma? Like sniffing a warm cedar log at sunset, with a hint of orchard fruit drifting downstream. The taste? Smooth as a freshly planed maple branch, with a delicious grain character that made me contemplate abandoning dam construction to pursue professional sipping full-time. The finish? Long, warm, and rich--lingering like the satisfaction of placing the final stick on a perfectly engineered lodge roof. And don't get me started on the place itself. The distillery is polished, welcoming, and smells pleasantly of oak instead of predators. The staff? Delightful! Not one of them tried to trap me, and they spoke about their whiskey with the passion of creatures who truly love their craft. Westward, my whiskered friends, you have built something remarkable. If I had opposable thumbs, I'd raise a glass. Instead, I'll slap my tail in tribute: THWAP THWAP THWAP! That's beaver for "EXQUISITE WORK, KEEP IT UP."
