I have been to my share of doctors and spent a lot of time in "the chair" after a sports accident when I was a kid, depriving me of some of my front teeth. Today - I went in with the "not again" mentality when I had some pain in one of the teeth. The office staff - even on the phone - made me feel very at ease. The dental assistant when I arrived was also fantastic. Then Dr. Chun came in, carefully assessed everything, and made me feel very calm about various things that could be happening. As an added bonus, the office is very inviting in terms of decor. Every now and then you run into a doctor and think, "Okay - this person knows how to run a practice." Definitely felt that today. This review is not 100 percent necessary as Dr. Chun is constantly in "Washingtonian's Best" lists. I found him online with good ratings, then walked in and see all these Washingtonian Magazine covers framed on the wall.

He took care to be gentle with the numbing injections. My daughter sat with me. She described Dr Chun's manner during to the procedure as efficient, confident and meticulous: "like he had done it a thousand times before" and that the team worked perfectly together. I felt no pain. When the injections wore off it was not very painful. I used OTC medications. Healed up nicely. Recommend Dr Chun highly.

I had great experiences during all 4 visits with Dr. Cheron and his staff (consult, root canal, and two bleaching follow-ups). The front desk staff were welcoming and went over the costs with me ahead of time. I was very nervous for the procedure but Dr. Cheron and his assistant Tanae were skilled and caring that I didn't feel any discomfort besides some expected pressure and vibrations. I experienced no pain after the root canal, no issues with eating/drinking, and my tooth's color had visible improvements within 24 hours. During the procedure, Dr. Cheron kept me updated on his progress and what he is seeing, and did multiple X-rays to check his work before moving on. I was able to see before and after X-rays of my tooth by the end of the treatment. I was very impressed with the level of care, communication, and transparency I received as a patient. Like other reviews mentioned, they will play music of your choice during the procedure; initially I thought this was just for fun, but it actually helped me to relax more.

Physician and Staff were professional/amicable. I'm pleased with the procedure. However, the financial side of this house felt dishonest. In early December (5DEC,7DEC) I paid $2620.3 out of pocket for my procedure. The office told me they spoke to my insurance and were told that TRICARE would pay an estimated 60-70% of the bill. My $2620.3 bill was calculated from this amount. WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED: The insurance did not pay the estimated amount and I was left with a $673.76 bill sent to me two months after my procedure (I was billed 22FEB2023). I was advised to dispute the bill with the insurance. WHAT I LEARNED: Tricare pays 60-70% of the cost of an in-network service. One Endodontics is out of network and charges a premium price. TRICARE will not pay 60-70% of that premium cost, only the cost they would pay if Endodontics was in-network = you are left to pay the difference. ISSUE: I gathered that One Endodontics deals with TRICARE patients regularly and that they encounter this issue quite often; my critique is why not prepare the customer with the actual cost of the procedure rather than stick them with an additional bill two months later. Additionally, I was advised to contact my insurance to dispute the charge. This was another was of my time- after two phone calls with the insurance the issue became clear (as described above). The office charges a premium amount for services. I'd expect their knowledge of insurance pay-outs to be on par with the professionalism of the business. Be honest with the customer from the start so that we don't waste our time fighting for our money and save us the stress encountered when we receive a surprise $673.76 bill. SOLUTION: I learned the TRICARE policy information after one phone call with the insurance. Surely the office is aware of TRICARE's payout trends? My hope for the office is that they revise their insurance payout estimates so that the customer is not blindsided with another hefty bill two months post procedure. If you are a TRICARE holding patient, recognize that you will most likely pay more than you were initially quoted. I would return to this office as the procedure was effective, doctor was awesome, and the staff was friendly. My only reservation is with the integrity of the business when it comes to final costs. The lack of transpareny alone would drive me to seek another office for treatment. I felt swindled.

Not my first time, however I am still a dental phobic on having treatment. Maybe because I know more than most patients. I called and scheduled my appointment and spoke with Shannon the receptionist. I requested to complete my new patient paperwork before I arrived for my appointment. The online intake was awesome and easy. I arrived for my 11am appointment . I was greeted by Christian. I never WAITED. I want to wait .... Hahaha. Christian was amazing he was very talkative , which in my case was best since I was nervous. The anesthesia was hard for me. It takes a lot to numb me. Only to discover I had a "HOT" tooth. I believe I had 10 carpules of anesthetic. That dull ache I was having was the tooth dying. Dr Arundhati Misra-Sauparn tested another tooth and said this was too was dying. Tooth #18 & #19 both molar need a root canal ! Oh No. yes please do both teeth Did I mention that tooth #19 was HOT. Yes I was uncomfortable for a little bit. The doctor and her team were amazing. She completed both teeth within 1.5 hours. I totally recommend this endodontist to all of my friends and colleagues. only request is to update their website to reflect their new location 617 Harbor Side Street, Woodbridge, VA 22191

I want to start off by saying that I gave Dr. Choby every chance possible to rectify the situation…read morebefore leaving this review. To begin with, I went to see a general dentist who recommended that I get a retreatment on a root canal due to an infection and because I was in pain and discomfort. In looking for an endodontist, I found Dr. Choby, and based on her review ratings and comments left, it looked like she would be my best choice (moving forward, I will take perfect reviews with a grain of salt). I drove more than an hour to see Dr. Choby given how good it seemed she might be. After she examined my tooth, it was her professional opinion that I get a retreatment on my root canal to get rid of the infection. It took two visits to complete the treatment. I say this as an observation, but Dr. Choby physically looks as though she should retire, given the line of work that she does and the precise nature of her work. Her hands would shake, which made me nervous. During my two visits to complete the treatment, she hit my nerve twice when injecting the back of my mouth on different days, which hurt, and she said both times on different days, "Oops, I got too close to the nerve." I was allowed to split my out-of-pocket costs between the two visits. Given that I still had a bill after the first visit, the girl at the front desk called to check up on me. After the treatment was complete and they collected all the money for the treatment, I never received a follow-up to see how I was doing. Dr. Choby's body language did not seem confident in her work, that she was able to get rid of the infection. When I went to my general dentist for my new crown, he also noticed in the X-rays that the infection still appeared to be there. He gave Dr. Choby the benefit of the doubt and said let's give it a year to heal to see if the infection goes away. Throughout the past year since the retreatment, I have had to be on antibiotics due to issues with the same infection, and I am here today, after spending a little over $2,000 out of pocket for the retreatment and crown, now having to get that tooth extracted due to being in the same position I was in before getting the retreatment and the infection never going away after Dr. Choby completed her work. I contacted Dr. Choby's office multiple times to try to see if I could get a refund, given that her work was unsuccessful in getting rid of the infection and having to pay all this money to still be in the same position I was in before getting the retreatment. Dr. Choby declined my request for a refund with no reason given. I asked if she could at least cover the cost of the tooth extraction, which would be around $200, and I was disregarded and ignored and then given a no. My tooth infection is even worse now and has created an abscess. Her practice is also outdated, with chairs in the waiting area that are on the verge of breaking. People have died from tooth infections, but it seems as though Dr. Choby cares more about financial gain than doing morally the right thing. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere for an endodontist.

I think she's the best. And her assistant, Kat, who I met for the first time this visit, is super efficient and personable.
