She listened to my concerns about my job's potential to strain my eyes, and she gave thoughtful answers. She also identified an error in my previous prescription (from a shopping mall optical boutique) and my corrected eyesight has never been better! The staff is very friendly. The frames saleswoman was informative and patient, and not at all pushy. They machine the lenses in-house, and the same guy who constructed the frames fits them to your face. All in all, a wonderful experience.

I was a bit nervous that a smaller area would not have many dresses to look at, but I was completely wrong! Formalities had a ton of beautiful dresses, including the one dress I saw online that I was in love with. The first shop I went into with the first dress dress I tried on was the "one". This dress also was much cheaper than it would have been in Chicago. Everyone there was so friendly. My dress got a TON of compliments from total strangers all day. My wedding was a wdw and I had the perfect princess dress. Thank you Formalities!

When I bought my dress, I was thrilled to win a "free honeymoon" promotion that Formalities was…read moreoffering in-partnership with Marketing Concepts. After filling out the paperwork and sending a check deposit, as requested, I worked with a representative to book an all-inclusive trip to Puerto Vallarta for $2,435.84, which I paid in full. Three days before leaving for our honeymoon, I had a bad feeling about the whole thing. This led me to calling the resort to confirm our reservation -- which thank goodness I did -- because we discovered that the whole trip was a scam and the travel agent had stolen our money. The representative not only stated this was a case of fraud, but admitted it had been happening for months to other clients from the company. This left us without our dream honeymoon and out $1,500 in nonrefundable airfare, on top of the money paid for the trip. I notified Tracina Fisher, the owner of Formalities, in hopes of preventing this from happening to other brides. While she initially expressed sympathy and asked how she and Peter Hayes (the Marketing Concepts Representative) could help, their tone quickly changed. When I asked if their companies could help recoup the $1,500 we lost--considering this situation never would have occurred without their promotion--they became extremely rude and blamed me instead of taking accountability for putting their customer through this situation. It's devastating to lose our dream honeymoon to fraud and even worse to feel abandoned by the businesses we trusted. While we are dealing with this issue with both federal and state authorities, I strongly urge anyone considering this store or promotion to proceed with caution. This experience has caused immense financial and emotional distress, and I hope it prevents others from suffering the same.

As a first time client, I did not have a positive experience. My stylist was very nice, but she was…read morenot vigilant in keeping her tools clean. The styling brushes she was going to use on my hair were not clean and had other peoples hair wrapped around and there was lint clogging the blow dryers filter. I asked the stylist not to use those brushes on my hair and asked her if she could get clean ones. She left me in the chair and I assumed she was going to get clean brushes but instead she went to the Manager who came to me and said the stylist was unable to finish because she was now uncomfortable and self-conscious. I explained my intention was not meant to be hurtful because I assumed she could just get clean brushes. So I only got 1 of 3 services I had booked, the Manager did not apologize for the dirty brushes and also didn't comp my service. I paid $85 and left. As I had a few days to think about my bad experience, several factors are important. #1 Poor cleaning and poor hygiene is a no-no, the stylist and the salon could be fined and their licenses affected. #2 The Manager did not apologize for the bad hygiene and seemed to indicate I was the problem for asking the stylist for clean brushes. The stylist did not have any other clients and during the 30 minutes my color was processing, she could have cleaned her tools but she did not. She was in the back somewhere. #3 This is an Aveda salon and I high expectations for quality of service and was let down. I do not recommend this salon.
