If I could give him ZERO stars I would. He took my money and…read moredid nothing ended up firing him and hiring Carrie Doom Don't hire him unless you want to get screwed. I retained him for 3500 for a divorce after nearly 2 years of Todd Donegan as my attorney no progress was made. Carrie Doom was retained for the same amount and my divorce was done with only the mediation fees left to pay. I contacted Todd to get my retainer fee back and he never replied. I am very disappointed with him because he knows he took from me when I was at my worst. Again, do not hire him unless you want your money stolen. also paid him 4 or 5 thousand for an abuse case that was dropped. He did NOT give me any of it back so, total I paid him 7500 or 8500 and he didn't do anything for me and never return any of the money. Carrie Doom was also retained once before by me and I didn't use all of my retainer fee and she mailed me a check.

I have put a lot of thought into this review but the more I thought about our issue with Mr…read more Donegan I felt I wanted to share our experience that we had with their office. In February of this year I hired Mr. Donegan to represent me on a criminal trespassing charge out of the City of Cambridge. When my wife and I sat down and talked with Mr. Donegan, he explained to us that he would charge us $2500 to represent me on the trespassing charge. The charge should have never been charged out in the first place but an overzealous Cambridge Police Officer did not see it that way. I had a DVR mounted in my vehicle so the entire situation was recorded on a SD card. Mr. Donegan explained to both my wife and I that if he just had to make some phone calls with the county attorney's office or a few visits with them, the $2500 charge would be negotiated. We took his word on this and when the county attorneys office dismissed the charge after reviewing the video evidence that we had, we stopped back and talked with Mr. Donegan. I asked him since our case was dismissed and all he did was make a few phone calls if we would be getting part of the retainer back? Well, it's funny that he did not remember the conversation about negotiating the retainer amount if the case did not go to trial. In short, he told us that the $2500 was a flat fee and we would NOT receive any refund of the $2500 retainer. In closing, Mr. Donegan seems to know his job and also the statutes in Minnesota. The only thing that I suggest is that if you hire Donegan Law Office, do yourself a favor and save yourself a lot of headaches, make sure that the retainer agreement is spelled out in detail. That way you will not run into the same issue that we did. Thank you! Tim & Annette Akers Cambridge
