My only real issue with this place is that I have gone in there a number of times looking for something only to find that they have run out or just don't stock it. For example. they sell hotdogs but they don't stock hotdog buns at all.

Their deli is very impressive, their wraps, sandwiches, salads are very fresh and good value. They also make fresh pizzas, but I haven't tried them yet. They have an ATM at the back of the store, but this is often out of service, but there is an outdoor ATM just up the road a little (a minute's walk or less). They've got groceries, off-license, newspapers/magazines, lottery, almost anything you could want, but I wouldn't do a full weekly shop here! They are open 24 hours, which adds a star for me!

Our initial stop here was just to get some provisions such as red bull, water, etc. The second stop was for the drunken eats. Luckily they have a fair amount of ready to eat food. We grabbed some sandwiches - Chicken & Egg Cub, Chicken & Pepper Sandwich. Also, got some chips - Guiness and Flame Grilled Steak. The chips were something I never tried before. It wasn't bad at all. Beer and meat chips, who knew? I have no idea how much we spent here since the hubs took care of everything and I forgot to get a pic of the receipt. However, whenever I travel internationally, I always look forward to trying new snacks that are not available in the United States. So I did find some Doritos flavors at Spar that i hadn't seen anywhere else during my time in Dublin. It's a fully stocked store with an array of items from chips, candy, and cookies to an assortment of grab&go sandwiches and instant ramen. This location is nestled on the corner of a busy, crowded street. No self-checkout. You have to pay at the register. The customer service was a bit lackluster.

On the outside the shop looks like it has been there for years and has that chaotic and bedraggled look of a place that has simply evolved into what it is through eons of additions. The truth is much more interesting. There has been a shop in DL for years called Alexes - the lucky lotto shop- run by a guy named John Highland. John lived and breathed the business to the degree where it was open 24 hours a day and I'll swear he was there 22 of those hours. Alexes is still there but john sold up a few years back, then missed the biz I guess because he opened this place - though he's taking it easier these days, it's only open 21 hours a day... seriously. The selection of papers and magazines is truly astonishing, as indeed it the shops owner!

They have a good selection of groceries, prepared food and alcohol. Prices are the same as the regular larger Tescos. Most are open til 11 pm or later. It is a great place to stock up on snacks. The deli is pretty average, nothing different from any other standard deli with a selection of meats and salads. They also have a subway which tends to get packed with school kids around lunch time. The hot food is mostly breaded chicken, hash browns and maybe curry. They don't seem to restock very often here, so products like pre-packed sandwiches and salads, fridge items and yoghurts tend to sell out as the week goes by and they don't restock until the following week. Overall, a decent enough pit stop for petrol or a cheap quick bite to eat. The Castle Arch hotel is only 5 mins walk away, and a 10 mins walk from the town centre.
