This place is located in Montgomery technically but is right next to Conroe you can see the lake driving up it was so beautiful. It's a prohibition style speakeasy with the hidden door and the ambiance is so beautiful inside with an amazing bar and just a great vibe. We loved how the waitresses were dressed in dresses from the time it was so classy and fun. And we went on a night they had live music and it was sooo good. Now let's talk about the drinks there were so many choices of cocktails bourbon whiskey you name it. I let the waitress pick mine it was something with pear and it was yummy. We both loved our drinks. My husband loved his old fashion. The food was absolutely delicious we enjoyed the crab toast and lamb lollipop and the Chilean sea bass which were all to die for. Oh and Lavendar creme brûlée for dessert. We met Rob and his wife the owners who are the nicest people and now we can't wait to come back with friends to salsa night. If you're looking for a nice dinner spot with great drinks food and music on certain nights just the best service you have to come try this location you won't be disappointed. It made our anniversary special.

Our waitress was admittedly new, but when our food arrived an hour and a half later, it was so disappointing. Three of us ordered ribeyes, and none of them were cooked to our order; plus, they were charred on the bottom & sides. The wagyu burger was burned as well. We also ordered a bottle of wine, but the first 3 choices were out of stock!? Really? Our choice was to jump into a $60.00 or $80.00 bottle. The service team never checked in on how our food tasted or how we were doing. It's like they knew that they ruined our dinner and experience. About this, they call it a speakeasy because the doorway is a bookcase that is as obvious as the nose on your face. The dude hosting the stand at the door, did not even ask if we enjoyed ourselves. For these prices, they should be ashamed of the food they served us. Seriously! Do not waste a dime here. I am making sure everyone I know does not make the mistake we did.

    The Farmhouse

The Farmhouse is one of those wedding venues that understands the assignment visually--and then…read moreoccasionally forgets it practically. Let me explain. First impressions matter, and The Farmhouse absolutely nails them. The buildings are beautiful: sleek, simple, modern-farmhouse in the way Pinterest boards dream about at 2 a.m. The chapel in particular is a standout. It offers a genuinely scenic view--rolling landscape, open sky, the kind of backdrop that quietly does half the emotional labor during the ceremony. The property itself is well kept and clearly managed by people who care about how it looks and runs. You feel that. Now, let's talk about the animals. There are horses. There are donkeys. And there is manure. Lots of it. The scent drifts lovingly across the property like a reminder that yes, this is a farm. Personally, I didn't mind it--there's something grounding about the smell of livestock while two people pledge eternal love--but I did notice others reacting as though they had not RSVP'd for Eau de Pasture. Your mileage may vary. The chapel comfortably holds around 150-200 guests and works especially well for smaller, intimate weddings. However, intimacy comes at a cost: location. You'll be driving 30-45 minutes from any major city, and the last stretch feels like a trust exercise. GPS gives up. Cell service vanishes. There are no signs. You just...believe. This venue desperately needs signage in all directions for the final miles, unless the goal is to test the strength of modern relationships before guests even arrive. Staff-wise, the experience was mixed. Some team members were phenomenally kind and attentive, especially those serving food. Others stood around staring with the intensity of museum guards waiting for someone to touch the art. Not rude--just oddly observant. Speaking of food: it must be catered, and unfortunately, it was flat-out bad. Not "wedding bad." Not "it's fine, I'm hungry." Truly gross. Two people in my party were sick for two days afterward. That alone is something future couples should take very seriously when choosing vendors. The bar and overall hype? Meh. Overpromised, underwhelmed. Acoustics in the main reception area are another major issue. Sound bounces everywhere, turning music into vibration and conversation into a competitive sport. A little soundproofing would go a long way--both for music clarity and for letting toasts feel meaningful rather than shouted into the void. Lastly: the chairs. Uncomfortable. And notably unforgiving. I'm skinny and still noticed. Guests with any extra weight may find themselves counting minutes until they can stand again. Tables, however, were done well--credit where due. Final verdict: Beautiful setting, strong bones, but real logistical and comfort issues. With better signage, sound control, food oversight, and seating, this could be exceptional. As it stands: 3.5 stars.

The service room is spacious with a lot of natural light. There is a beautiful outdoor area that made for a perfect cocktail hour for the wedding we attended. As it is far from the city, it was quiet and serene with a nice lawn and water area that made for nice photos. The reception hall was also very spacious and had plenty of room for all the guests and a dance floor. It has a rustic feel to it that makes for a special venue. Regarding parking there is a gravel lot out front. It is almost 2 hours away from Houston city proper during rush hour, but 1 hour without traffic.

We worked very closely with Brittany who was always willing to answer my numerous questions and make recommendations when needed. The simple beauty of this venue and the natural light coming through the windows made for great pictures! And the convenience of the chapel and reception hall being so close to each other made it easy for our guests to move from one building to the other. It was simply wonderful and I will be reliving my daughter's wedding here for many years to come!

Off the beaten path, why yes!…read more Possibility of getting lost while attempting to locate this venue, very possible! An incredible piece of history turned into a beautiful venue for all your special occasions, yes indeed! Olde Dobbin Station, is just that, old structures dating back to the 1900s, I'm assuming restored to their once living breathing look and feel, but still leaving a bit of rustic heritage behind. I'm a sucker for history, and this place had my heart won over almost instantly. The ceremony was located in what looked like an old storage building, completely brick and mortar and fully open to allow natural light to illuminate its stone insides (with that in mind note it may be cold so you may be looking to give up your sunlight seats to the highest bidder, or hope for a short but sweet ceremony). Situated in the middle of the outside ceremony edifice and the actual reception/banquet hall sits a very quaint vintage Bridal Cottage (sadly I did not get to admire the inside). The Banquet/reception building where I spent most of my duration of the wedding shenanigans is equally beautiful. A large solid wooden door (mind you this sucker is heavy takes a bit of oomph to move) gives way to a large, spacious building lit up by vintage inspired yet modern day chandeliers. Again the restoration of these buildings still leaves behind the look and feel of the history and times past, absolutely beautiful. Another set of wooden doors located towards the far end of the building leads out to a bonfire and a view of open field and woods. If you happen to stroll along the cement paths that surround the venue you will come across what looks like a small pond/man-made lake situated at the end of the path. Overall a beautiful Venue to celebrate one of life's special occasions.

Everything is already so well maintained and beautifully decorated, so as far as planning goes, Miller's Creek genuinely cut the workload in half. There are twinkle lights and lanterns everywhere, a fire pit, horseshoes, a brand new giant deck out back. Even before bringing your own decorations, the entire place is perfect, romantic, and comfortable as is. The walls are covered in super cute decor and there are spots and stations for anything you would need. The owners offered to provide many MANY items to help us save money, like floral arrangements, centerpieces, and decorations. Not to mention tables and chairs, tablecloths, a selection of decor, flowers, lighting. Debra was so kind and offered us everything she had on hand to make my wedding extra special. As an added bonus, the owners Debra & Wayne, are basically built-in attendants for anything and everything you might need. From day one, Debra walked my mom and I through EVERYTHING, most of it I had no idea how to even approach. Debra is SO quick and knowledgeable with weddings, and we were so lucky to have a total pro on our team. I didn't ask a single question that wasn't answered in a helpful way! She was also available promptly through text at all times which was a huge lifesaver. She provided us with recommendations for food, music, and decor. She told us what we needed to do and what kind of timeline to keep. I'm probably exaggerating a tiny bit but she's almost as good as hiring a wedding planner! Having my wedding 20 feet from their home made me a bit wary in the beginning but Debra trusted us and left us alone unless we asked for her. If you're looking to have a rager, this might not be the venue for you. But if you are respectful and ensure your guests are conscious of the fact that this venue is also the owners' home, please check it out. You won't regret it. If I had gone anywhere else, I don't think my big day would have been nearly as perfect. When it's time for our anniversary party or our next photoshoot, we will be heading back to Miller's Creek for another magical night.

However, the way the evening ended left me feeling deeply disappointed, frustrated, and saddened. When families invest as much as we did in a venue of this caliber, they expect the customer service to match the beauty of the space. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful; however, the overall experience did not match the price or expectations. Throughout planning we were assigned three different planners, we started with Jillian, she left, and then were assigned 2 more, which caused confusion and stress, especially leading up to the wedding day. On the day of the despite requesting that all logistical questions be directed to the wedding planner (MOB), the on-site coordinator (Giana) repeatedly approached the bride at a time when she should have been fully present and at ease. We had to frequently ask what was happening because communication was not being relayed appropriately. We were looking forward to the dinner. The salmon was great but the steak was undercooked for many guests. We asked for medium rare but instead of pink received blood red, poor in quality, and no steak knives were provided and we were reduced to using a butter knife to cut the steak. Cake service was also mishandled, as guests who were not seated at the moment cake was passed were not served at all and many never had the opportunity to taste the cake we paid for. Our contracted breakdown window was from 11:00 PM to midnight. We had over 20 people assisting and were moving efficiently. Despite this, venue staff, who were not previously introduced began breaking down tables and throwing away personal items. We had glass votive candle holders that were intended to be wrapped with florals and placed into labeled bins, but instead were thrown together on other tables as they began breaking down tables. When we asked them to stop, the situation was met with eye-rolling, dismissive behavior and unprofessionalism by Moe. We do want to acknowledge that the bartender, DJ, photographer, and videographer were excellent and professional. Iron Manor is a gorgeous space, but unfortunately the staff experience did not match the beauty of the venue. It's unfortunate. We were blessed with a beautiful space, a wonderful ceremony and overall loved our day. We just wish the rest of the experience brought as much joy. We hope this feedback helps other couples make an informed decision when looking at venues. While Iron Manor is visually stunning, we expected customer service and professionalism to match the elegance of the space, and unfortunately it fell short.

We booked the all-inclusive package for our wedding, which means that PLR hired the photographer, caterer, officiant, bartender, etc. However, the day of the wedding was met with multiple frustrations when it was supposed to be a perfect day. To start out our morning, we arrived a little earlier after I had confirmed with the wedding planner it was okay to do so to prep our hair and makeup for my bridal party, when we arrived they did not allow us to gain full access until 11 due to a tour they had at 10:45. In their guidlines, it stated that they can hold tours the day of an event up to 11, I was still seeing these people on the property around 12 ( which is after the time I was paying to even be there ). They do provide morning mimosas in the bridal house. I requested cranberry juice for mine, and they accepted this. When we arrived, there were only pineapple and orange. I'm allergic to pineapple, and I dislike orange. When I asked about cranberry juice, they said the open bar would have it LATER on for mixed drinks. The DJ that was hired by PLR informed my guests they could sneak pictures during my UNPLUGGED ceremony, which felt incredibly disrespectful. He also just kept my Spotify playlist on shuffle when I expected a DJ to mix songs and really feel the vibe. If I had known that was his plan, I could have been my own DJ. The centerpieces on the table were beautiful, but not what I had selected. Other than that, the reception hall looked great! When we went to the tasting for the caterer, Sierra Catering, everything was GREAT. My now husband and I raved about the food for months. At the wedding, the food severely lacked the taste we experienced at the tasting, and my cake did not meet expectations from the inspo I had sent over. I was only unable to see the cake until I was in the hall with my guests. For a length of time, it was difficult to locate the wedding planner, and I had to ask multiple times for her to display the cookies I had brought and she did not want to until RIGHT before the cake cutting, no matter how many times she was asked. When my dog (who is registered under their service animal guidelines) made his scheduled appearance, vendors were all extremely upset by his existence. Stormy was also not there that I was aware of, and the pup had to be kenneled in the grooms area. The bartender, Pour Boyz, told multiple of my guests that she had to be tipped prior to making their drink requests. Not to mention the sour face the bartenders held all night, I am really hoping that's not in the pictures. However, I will sing the praises of our photographer, Cabrera, he did a wonderful job capturing all the shots. Multiple guests told me that he was doing wonderful as well. I cannot wait to see the photos from the wedding! I also ended up getting my own officiant, which made things better, considering my experience with the other vendors. We ended the night early due to my headache and irritation with the day. I am extremely disappointed with the unfortunate events and I am sure I could add on to this list, but overall just happy to be married.
