had a great day here yesterday. I have played this course in the past - and it's a little gem tucked into older neighborhood of Hillsboro. They had the pay station setup outside and it was straightforward. We had a coupon so $25 each with cart. Our tee time was 1:30pm. We had a little time to putt and relax and then off. It was just the two of us and we followed a pair of other golfers. There were plenty of people out here but it was pleasant. Had to wait on the back nine a bit - but it was the first sunny, warm day and it really didn't bother me. Course is just nine holes, so if you want to play 18, you go around twice. You should be able to improve or remember how/what club you played when you go around again. Facilities - they had porto-potties (clean) and no beverage cart operating, nor did I see any bevs./food offered today. The greens had been plugged, so putting was like chinese checkers. I definitely had a few puts that would've gone in, if it wasn't for the healing holes on the green. Kind of a bummer, but I didn't think to ask about this when I made the tee time. It's kind of late in the season to plug greens, but perhaps with COVID and not normal traffic, conditions, they did it late in the year. It was a nice little challenge. Most holes are pretty short, lot of par 3s, but towards the end, there are two par fives. Lots of shade and a few times your are gathered with people teeing off on 4 and 9.

Pin high tee shot (pace of play issue)

Solid 9-hole and driving range. I come here pretty regularly. Good vibes. No one is ever too serious here.

Reluctant to give it five stars only because I have not played the course yet but I have used the driving range.

Overall, a 3.75/5…read more The vibes are great, atmosphere uplifting, and just a good spot to go for a birthday party, friend gathering, and more! The food is a little pricey, so if you're wanting to save I'd recommend eating beforehand, grabbing something shareable while you're there, or definitely take advantage of their combos. We got the Pepsi Kickoff Combo and it was worth the price! The service was great, a manager visited us during our visit and they let us know if we'd be getting a new server at the change of shifts. With a lot going on around, we appreciated the friendliness of staff and their quickness to attend to us even with a big group. A good time is always sure to be had!

They have different golf games you can do and we always switch it up. We like the sonic and angry birds version. Drinks and food can become expensive once you get going; our family actually did the large party package and didn't come out too bad for 14 of us. We got two bays and had our own server and she was so nice and made sure we were good. I just wish there was another location on the east side of Portland- quite a drive as it's way west in Hillsboro. There are three levels to play and I like the top level as it helps make the balls go further out. Looks like prices are cheaper during the week, rather than Weekend. They have a restaurant to chill and watch sports, and the pro shop is interesting to walk through.

Kilarney West: The Ritz of Washington County golf courses…read more It earns that name not by offering the plush amenities of a luxury hotel chain, but by turning its clubhouse into stale box of cheap crackers. This corn-pone course that's basically a step above a muni is what you get when you push out too far to draw folks from Nike and Adidas, but just far enough to ensure multiple weekends with Roscoe and Cletus. The photos on this Yelp page aren't selfies: They're warnings. For a bargain-basement price, you're about to go ankle-sock-deep into a layer of Washington County Good Ol' Boy that's going to be just fine dropping the occasional slur, being as homophobic as an '80s high school bully, and looking as if they went out as the Oakleys-and-beards meme for Halloween. Killarney West is the course where you take your dad on Father's Day when you want to discuss underpaying your farm workers. It's the course where you have loud dialogues about a guy you know who bought a boat with the bonus he got for signing up with ICE. It's the course where you tell the clubhouse bartender you're convinced that the gal with the purple hair and nose ring and the place you went to in Portland just before the Eric Church show at Moda Center last year put something weird in your whiskey. With any luck, Killarney West will be a truffle-foraging park or a bio winery and tasting room in our near future. Right now, it's the best place to see Hillsboro Towing repossess a Style Motors lift kit special with five payments past due and two grand worth of clubs up in the bed.

I've played the public side, Ghost Creek a number of times, but this was our first round on the private course. What makes Pumpkin (both 18's) so special, is that you feel like you're a million miles away. The course is beautiful, and in pristine condition, but the setting is what's amazing!! We played with two members, a married couple that were awesome to play with! Friendly, fun and gave us info on each hole and how to play it. I also enjoyed our meal in the restaurant, and the service, including the bar cart was excellent. I realize not everyone can get on the private course, but if you can I highly recommend it. If not, Ghost is also wonderful, and definitely worth your time making the trek out to North Plains.

After trying out multiple instructors in the Portland area (Redtail, Pumpkin Ridge, Rock Creek) and several others in the US (at least 50 hours of total instruction), Golftec stands out to me as one of the best setups for a golfer looking to improve. Michael's approach on the game is multifaceted, not just how best to swing a club. We go through swing mechanics on an indoor simulator and apply them during playing lessons on-course. Short-game and putting lessons have been the weakest part of my game, but now are a more confident part of my game. Instruction on strategy and course management has dramatically increased my percentage of hitting greens on approach shots. Michael's engineering background, his deep knowledge of the game, and his passion for instruction helped me better understand my golf game. I now am better equipped to self diagnose and fix day-to-day adjustments in my swing. The facility also allows for indoor practice on a simulator which is key for off-season improvement to ready for the new season. The video recording/playback in the practice sessions allows you to see whether or not the swing mechanics taught during lessons are being implemented during practice. This feature has increased the efficacy of my practice sessions in a way I couldn't have imagined previously. I can write another page worth of praise for Michael and Golftec, but it's just easier for you to try it yourself. Go in for a swing evaluation; it's $95 and it's likely you'll walk away from that session with actual solutions that work rather than YouTubing/Instagraming a fix that will cause more problems than it fixes.
