Well, they have that covered too, with high quality front desk personnel (actually mean it when they say, hello, how are you today?) to their thorough and "good bedside manner" nurse practitioner. I have been to chiropractors over the years mainly when I have strained my back; I do believe there is a place in our medical world for them. Maybe because Dr. McHugh doesn't push prescriptions (chemicals) and surgery but through a better, healthy lifestyle and..... adjustments and for me, shockwave therapy. I would think that a doctor's number one priority would be to protect the health and well-being of people who need their help. But apparently this doctor simply does not care. I am immune compromised, with a history of life threatening allergic pneumonia and years struggling to breathe. My mother has three types of lung disease, and would certainly not survive if she were to get covid. Yet this "doctor" refuses to implement a mask policy to protect his patients during a global pandemic. I have been searching for years to find someone who is geographically suitable, who also has the expertise to help me heal from chronic pain due to degenerated discs, cervical instability and a rotated atlas that presses on my brain stem. I believed I finally found someone close enough to me so as not to undo all of the benefit over the course of the drive who also dealt in the techniques I've been looking for. I can't just go to any doctor. There is a very specific level of expertise that I require and it seemed I had finally found someone accessible. I was thrilled and once again hopeful that I may be able to get back on track to overcome debilitating pain so I could start making some solid progress on my life goals again. So when I found out they dont protect their patients from covid, I asked if they might at least carve out a few hours a week where they could have a mask policy for any of their immune compromised patients, even that small ask was simply refused. I explained my situation multiple times, thinking any reasonable person would want to help someone in chronic pain, and would not want that person to have to risk their lives and the lives of their immune compromised family members in the process. The most incomprehensibly irresponsible and insensitive "doctor" I have ever heard of. If we lived in a reasonable world, I'd think he should lose his license over showing this much disrespect for the health and well-being of someone coming to him for help. read more

I started seeing Dr. McHugh many years ago when he was at another practice that was near my house. When he started his own business, it was too far away from the 5 mile radius I refuse to leave unless it's a fire emergency. I stayed with the other chiropractor for a while but never got the level of service that Sean gave. I tried another highly recommended practice but the service was awful and the treatments didn't seem to work like his always did. Finally, out of desperation I drove the 25 minutes to his new office and have never looked back. When you find a good mechanic, you stick with them till they die....when you find a great chiropractor, you make the exception to extend your radius. They are that good. Trust it. read more

I'm thankful for Dr McHugh and the staff at McHugh Chiropractics. These aren't just staff members running an office, they're people that have been the patient. They know and understand first-hand the pain that other people don't "get". I hadn't been to a chiropractor in years. After sustaining an injury, a few friends recommended I see Dr McHugh. They all drive from Oceanway to see him, so I knew he must be worth it! Turns out, they were right. On your first visit they take the time to get to know you and your history. Dr McHugh walks you through your x-rays and tells you objectives you can work towards and explains what is ideal for your body. I'd never had a health care professional take their time to invest in me in such a way or have them help me to understand my circumstances better. He listens, he offers solutions, he provides research and takes the time to follow-up. Not only does he help me to continually work through my pain but now he sees my husband and kiddo too. My 7 year daughter fell off some very high monkeys bars and her back was a disaster, we have been to McHugh's for 6 weeks and her back has made leaps and bounds. She is able to play with her friends much more and participate in extracurricular activities again! Not only does it seem to work very well but he is simply great with kids. The way he speaks to them to make them comfy, goes a long way too. She was in a lot of pain and still is getting thru it, but will his calm voice, polite attitude and great way of explaining things she fully trusts him as well. He has been in the business for years, treated patients of such a wide range of ages, and it is obvious in his knowledge and ways. The staff at the front desk is pleasant as can be too.
