My patio door was always opened, bringing the sounds of waves crashing and birds chirping inside to me. Most of my time here existed on the balcony looking out or on the beach barefoot in the sandy waves or on a rock perched only existing in the moment. This is one of the most beautiful locations I have ever stayed. The staff is friendly, the amenities are accommodating including the freshly cooked breakfast each morning and the wine & cheese reception held each evening. The in room Keurig afforded me caffeine as needed, when I wanted it. The complimentary robe and slippers kept me warm in the evenings as I sat outside. The ice machine is located on the grounds, outside, within the parking lot area. I was there regularly, with the ice bucket provided, to keep my wines cold and ready to enjoy. The in room fireplace kept me warm in the evenings when I rested with the screen door open. There are two chairs and a table on the balcony to sit out on. There are two chairs and a table facing the glass doors to look out to the water while you stay warm by the fireplace. I will certainly return and not for a special occasion. Just because I know it's here, this has become one of my happiest places.

We were able to watch a pod of dolphins (or porpoises??) swimming and playing right from our cozy room. The location couldn't be better. Everything about our all too brief stay couldn't have been better, from warm check in to our included breakfast brought to our room. I think the ONLY thing I could think to improve on [in our room] would be to change the window shades from the standard pull down to the kind called "top down/bottom up" so you could get light and ocean views while blocking street and parking lot view. Daily breakfast is included with your stay. The breakfast consists of pastries, bagels/ cream cheese, yogurt, oatmeal and hard-boiled eggs. They also offer gluten-free bread and pastry options, which I appreciate. Coffee, tea and juices included. There is no hot food. One thing to point out is the rooms do not have air-conditioning. This typically isn't an issue because half Moon Bay runs cooler and comfortable temperatures for most of the year but my husband and I do prefer a colder room at night time so we slept with the door open. There was no ceiling fan, but they do have a couple of portable fans stored in the closets for use. Shower in our room had low water pressure, so not great for those with longhair. The hotel is right next-door to Sam's chowder House so easy walk. Beach access-there is a beautiful walking path right downstairs, which you can access from the hotel. The only thing between the walking path and the ocean is some rocks. I was told by a local that the water directly in front of the hotel is not swimmable but there is beach access with some water about 5 minute walk down the path. The path is smooth so easy for strollers, bikes or other means.

We were meeting with friends for a stay and play golf, and they informed us that we had to pay in advance for the golf passes for both courses. I had paid $1586 three weeks in advance. On Tuesday, September 15th, we arrived at the hotel at 10 am and went to the front desk. We were greeted by Jessica, who seemed lost and clueless about her duties. She asked for a card, which is standard practice for hotels, but instead of reimbursing us, she charged us the full amount. Jessica promised to reimburse us, but she couldn't provide us with a receipt. This is unacceptable, and we should have been reimbursed immediately. To make matters worse, we discovered that the bar was open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but we had no idea about it. We had been staying at the hotel for three weeks and had never noticed the bar. Before we checked out, I went to the front desk again and asked Jessica why we couldn't just get a refund for the card. She refused to do so and took 20 minutes to explain her position. We will never return to this hotel and will strongly advise others to avoid it. I will also contact all review platforms where we can post a review and will fight for a full reimbursement. Finally, I want to address the issue of Jessica. She needs to be removed from the front desk immediately.

Umbrella Bus barely got our passengers from Point A to Point B, did not do so efficiently, and arguably didn't do it terribly safely. We booked Umbrella for a 54-passenger shuttle to transport wedding guests from our wedding hotel to our ceremony venue, and then from the ceremony venue to the reception venue ($1050 total). I confirmed this itinerary with their staff by email and phone several times (at least three), because they kept sending me invoices that only showed a partial itinerary, but they assured me that they had the correct itinerary written down and would read off the correct itinerary on the phone when I called. On the first trip, the bus driver got the bottom of the bus stuck on a steep hill, rendering it unable to move. Guests had to walk nearly a quarter mile from where the bus got stuck to the ceremony site. The bus was also blocking the entrance to the park where the ceremony was held, meaning that park visitors and several wedding guests who were behind it were severely delayed in getting into the park. We had a couple of guests who missed some of the wedding ceremony because the bus blocked the entrance for so long. It would've been 3.5 stars if only for this, since it wasn't 100% the driver's fault, though he should really have known what the buses he drives are able to handle. On the second trip, though, despite me confirming the destinations in the itinerary with Umbrella MULTIPLE TIMES, the driver had somehow been given the wrong destination by their dispatch, and took guests back to the hotel instead of to the wedding reception venue. My family members had to argue with the driver, who insisted that he'd been told to take everyone back to the hotel, and "I'm only doing two trips, how will people get back to the hotel?" but he eventually relented and took everyone to the reception instead, but meant that most of the guests were delayed by quite a bit in getting to the reception. This definitely wasn't the driver's fault though, and was clearly the fault of the company/dispatch. He did eventually take the guests where they needed to go, which we appreciate.

Such a delightful day on the Bay! My Mister and I went…read moresailing with Captain Kirk's last Saturday, and we had such an incredible experience! We sailed out of Sausalito floating across the Bay. We went under the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz and Angel Island. The weather couldn't have been more perfect, and the views were absolutely beautiful!! One of my favorite parts was seeing SF from the water. The city, the Golden Gate, and the Bay Bridge all looked so tiny and beautiful in the distance. It was so fun waving to people on the shore and having people on the other boats wave back to us. It was just such a happy, fun, and delightful experience!! The crew was incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating, which made the whole trip even better! We were lucky enough to join Wendy from Somatic Ecotherapy, and I'm so glad we got the opportunity to experience SF this way. By the end of the trip, my cheeks literally hurt from smiling so much!!
